Parents Visitor Visa
Thanks to Immihelp for the great amount of resources that have been very helpful in making this painful process easier.

My parents attended the visa interview at Chennai consulate. They were asked only two questions.
1. How many children do you have?
>> My father explained along with occupations
2. Are they married?
>> Explained

That's all, the officer didn't asked for any documents of mine or any property documents that they prepared.

Thanks!

After reading many forums and searching the internet we were not quite sure if we will make it, but she had the interview today in the Mumbai office and got the visitor visa:

- Why are you going to US?
to meet my boyfriend and tourism.

- how long have you been together?
5 years ( VO lady smiled and said pretty long)

- what do you do here?
   pursuing Phd from IIT

- What is your thesis topic?
  answered that

- asked particulars of the thesis?
asked that, and was pretty impressed.

- Who will sponser your trip?
  my boyfriend

- what does he do?
  answered that

- what is the legal status of your boyfriend?
OPT and H1-B from Oct 1.

- How much does he make?
  answered that.

- How much do you make while in school?
  answered the scholarship amount.

- Smiled, and asked you wouldn't marry while you are there, would you?
  No ma'am, and smiled back.

- alright have a safe trip and enjoy your stay.

Immihelp has been pretty useful, obtained all the documents it mentioned, however, VO didn't ask for any of it. Whole interview lasted for 2-3 mins.

I am here on H1B and sponsored my mother to visit me for some time. I was pretty much worried about my mother's interview she is widow, housewife, never worked, no bank balance, never worked, no property.

But everything went awesome, VO asked several questions but i am glad that we got our mother well prepared for everything.

Here are the questions :
* What is your son's name ?
* what does he do there ?
* where does he live ?
* when did he go usa ?
* What purpose he went to usa ?
* where did he study in usa ?
* when did he completed his studies ?
* When did he start his job ?
* what visa your daughter-in-law hold ?
* where do you live ?
* what is your address ?
* what do you do ? what is source of your earning ?

After asking all these questions, VO smiled and told my mother that she should go home without worries and she will passport with visa.
