Dear All, i am being invited by xyz Institute to attend their exam assessment conference? The purpose is to asses the exam and give feedback about it. Why i am being invited is that i am their active member and posses the charter. They invite people from other countries so they can have diversity of opinion as they are global exam and somehow not only related to US. They are trying to improve their image worldwide.
I got the invitation letter from them stating all the reason for attending conference.
My profile: More than 8 years of travelling experience
Been to Uk, Turkey, Srilanka, Dubai, Saudi, Maldives couple of times
Director Business planning and strategy
Monthly Salary around 350k
Married and 2 kids ages 5 and 3
First interview:
VO: Hello
Me: How are you
VO: Show me your passport
Me: Handed over
VO: Purpose
Me: To attend exam conference
VO: Why you giving exam?
ME: I am going to evaluate it
VO: Whats your relationship
ME: I am their active charterholder and member .. Also i am selected based on my skills
VO: I dont understand why would they invite someone all the way from Pakistan to evalute US exam

After interview i thought that she didnt understand the reason of conference and confused about my selection. I could have done better with more explanation so i should appear again. A

ME: To be honest nothing changed but i thought i could have explain things better of my visit and also i have strong ties with my country
VO: Strong ties is not an issue

ME: I am not going to give but to evalute
VO: Dont understand why would they invite you for us exam
ME; its a global exam and i have the expertise therefore i am being invited. You can sponsor letter
VO: No need for letter
VO: Sorry i cant change the decision
ME: Let me explain in detail
VO: Soorry gentleman there is no need
ME: Its important for my career and i can explain in details

I dont understand why they have rejected my visa when i have great travelling history, strong home ties and also solid reason for conference? Why are they curious that i will evalute us based exam. i told them all the reason

i visited the US as a child with my parent visa. I am applying for a B1 visa online. under the previous US travel it asks if I have been issued a visa.
what I should answer No or Yes.
if yes i do not have the date of issue of my parent visa of 30 years ago. what date should I fill.

Visitor Visa Rejected - Need your opinion
I need to know your opinion so that I can prepare well for next visa interview. Feel free to post your response here.
I went for tourist visa interview with my 2 daughters studying in 9th grade and 3rd year of Engineering respectively. My husband sponsored us ( mentioned on Ds-160 ) and my brother is in USA on H1B visa.
I was rejected the visa and I am not sure what would be the reason for it so I am posting my experience here in a hope that someone will guide me on what could be the possible cause.
Que - Why do you want to travel USA
Ans - Because my brother recently bought home and has invited us for Housewarming party and also for tourism purpose
Que - What you brother does
And - He is a software engineer with YYYY company
Que - What you husband does
And - He is a used car dealer
Que - Whats your husband's annual income
Ans - Appx. 10-12 lacs a year - [ CAN THIS AMOUNT BE CAUSE OF REJECTION FOR SPONSORING 3 PERSONS ? ]
Que - Why you husband not accompanying you?
Ans - Because he has some business commitments and also he will be looking after my mother in law.
Que - Are these your daughters?
Ans - Yes
Que - To my daughters, Are you students?
And - Yes
Que - Why did you not travel before overseas?
Ans - Because I have been just invited by my brother for Housewarming and so I am planning to visit him for the first time.
Que - Yes but why not traveled overseas earlier?
And - I all most replied same answer. I was confused here.
So please share your opinion way it was rejected. May be beI did not travel earlier or may be because my husband's earning was not sufficient for supporting travel of 3 or may be because my brother did not sponsor.
Also when should I try to reapply?

Need help applying US visitor

I am new here. I am planning for US and Canada Trip on August 2019.
I'm from Gujarat, and I would like to know if I can apply in Delhi US embassy, instead of Mumbai? For Mumbai the waiting time is almost 2 months and for Delhi its one month. I'll apply for Canada visitor within a week. So I am confused when and where should I apply for US visitor!

Just reciprocating all the help I recieved from this forum by mentioning my few cents worth of advice...
Family Visa Application:
Parents aged 52 and 54, myself aged 28 (single) and sibling is 25(single)
Certain points to remember:
1. Fill the DS 160 with utmost care. This is the most important part - spend a few good weeks verifying the application.
2. Before submitting the DS 160 form, remember to take a print of the entire application because you may tend to forget the answers before/during the interview. Once the application is submitted, there is no way to see your DS 160.
3. Mention salary/income details accurately. Ensure you have sufficient funds to travel.
4. The job description should be fail safe - be crisp and emphasise on mentioning things that would put you at a higher stature. For example, instead of mentioning 'Project Manager in IT', you can mention 'Asst Vice President in ___ company', since IT is a red flag these days. It is not about representing false information, it is about represening safe information on the form and talking about what exactly you do only if asked in detail during the interview.
5. Be clear with your itinerary. Mention the places you will be travelling on the DS 160 form itself.
6. Make sure what you mention on DS 160 exactly matches what you speak during the interview.
7. PREPARE. There is no substitute for preparation. It may sound silly, but having a list of probable questions and answers does help a lot. It also will help your parents if you prepare them beforehand with mock interviews. It increases your confidence during the interview.
8. Smile, be confident. Relax during the interview.
9. Prayers help :)

B-2, 221G Yellow Form
Dear US. Embassy Jakarta,
I did an interview with my grandmother on friday 15th of March 2019, my grandmothers visa was approved (5 years) but I was given a 221g yellow paper and the VO kept my passport, no documents asked..
Preciously I had 3 (B1/b2) visa approved (ever since I was young)
In 2013, for uni (switzerland) I had to do internship and was accepted in A hotel in SF, and I applied for J1 visa, and I also got 221g but pink form.. But because they held on my passport for 3 months, I requested to ask for my passport back because the company couldnt wait any longer.
after this I was scared to re apply and extend my b1/b2 visa until it was expired 2 years ago..
Now I have to apply so i can attend my sisters wedding ceremony in LA, so i decided to give it another go and apply
Interview:
VO: how long are you travelling
Me: from-to.. (date)
VO: what is the purpose of your visit?
Me: for holiday and for my sisters wedding
VO: why is she getting married there? (He was stiously so confused)
Me: because her and her fiance went for bachelors and masters in Los Angeles so they want to get married there..
VO: do they live there?
Me: no both of them have business in indonesia
VO: okay I understand
VO: You used to go to school in America?
Me: yes i went to “school name”, but then i transferred to switzerland for school of hotel management. Here is a letter from both schools.
VO: It’s alright ( refused to see )
VO: you are currently working?
Me: yes I am working in an F&B industry as “position” and I described what I do, I also used to work at another F&B company..
Vo: typed for good 3 minutes and then,
The VO said “unfortunately I can’t approve your visa yet, because there is something in the system that i need to change, you don’t have to submit any documents, you don’t have to worry, you will receive an email today.
It’s been two weeks, I havent received any email.. in CEAC its still AP but from day 1 in traveldocs its written that there is no status update available for the passport number submitted.. im so confused in this part..
I’m so nervous that they are going to keep it for a long time again with no updates..
Has anyone ever experience this? I need your advice..

Got my visa issued this week by Gods grace. I really learnt a lot from this website that really helped me with the visa experience.Thanks immihelp.
My Tips
1. The Ds 160 is the main decider of the interview.Take about two weeks to carefully fill the form.
2. Confidence, relax, and just smile to the VO just throught out the interview.If possible try and strike a conversation with the officer (wheter they are freindly or not)
3. List your job schedules and all educational certifications very accurately , if possible list all !!!!!(it shows strong ties)
