Need advice on my mother's B2 visa
Hi All,
I am looking to apply for my mother’s visitor B2 visa, so that she can spend a couple of months every year with us (me and my brother). My father passed away in May 2016 and my mother is living alone in India. Three of my sisters (all married) also live in India, and my mother occasionally spends time with them. I need guidance on applying visitor visa for my mother while showing that she has strong ties in India. So here is the situation:
~3 years ago, my parents’ B2 visa was denied. I really don't know the reason but at that time I was on F1-student visa and my brother was on OPT. My father had retired from a govt job. The invitation letter was sent from me to visit US. In that letter, I had indicated that I will sponsor their trip. The one and only question that visa officer asked my father was about his job. My father truthfully told him that he had retired and that might have been the reason for the denial of their visa.
Now my mother is a widow and all 5 children are married (4 daughters and 1 son). We have a house in India and a portion of it was recently leased. My mother is currently getting my father's govt. pension. My brother and his wife are in US and rest of my 3 sisters live in India with their families. I have a green card and my brother is on H1-B visa.
I am considering following options to make my mother's case strong and show that she has strong ties with India:
1) My elder sister and her family apply for US visitor visa along with my mother. The whole family wants to go abroad to travel and visit family in US for few weeks during summer vacation. My niece will finish her high school board exams in March and the family is planning a trip to relax and spend quality time with family in the US, plus do some touristy things. My sister’s husband works for a private company and he has travelled to Europe on business. My sister is a housewife with two kids.
2) The second option is that my mother applies for her visitor visa as an individual. In this case, my brother can invite my mother as he is on a non-immigrant visa. My mother will be sponsoring her own travel. We can present our house papers, lease document and father’s pension as sources of substantial income. However, my mother doesn’t speak English at all and may need wheelchair support to go the embassy (her both knees are affected by osteoporosis, and sometimes she has problem getting around). I am not sure if these things will have a detrimental effect on getting her visa.
3) The third option is that we first take her to a trip abroad (e.g. Dubai or Singapore) to illustrate that she has traveled abroad and returned to India, and is therefore of low risk of staying back in the US.

I would also like to ask if Delhi, Mumbai or Kolkata locations differ in their outlook.

Finally, just want to say that I am very worried about my mother living alone and just want her to spend some time with us every year. Please advise on the options above or suggest a better one.

Thanks!

My parents visa experience at Chennai and Hyderabad
Hello,

Experiences and inputs on Immihelp has been very helpful in getting my doubts clarified when my parents were refused two times and the reason for that was not forthcoming from the vo.

In my experience of trial and error i feel that everyone's case is unique and what works for one might not work for another. This is the mistake i think i did with my parent's case. A few colleagues of mine told me that some of them have 3 to 4 refusals for their parents or in-laws.

My passport was given to my aunt so that she can keep it to a safe place and now i asked her and she said that I have no passport that means its lost.

now if i want to goto USA for tourism what should i mention in DS160 form? or no need to mention anything? now my age is 29 and the passport been lost from last 19 years.

Visa receipt number available at lower cost
Hey guys,

My name is Raju Ashwin and I am a citizen of India. While applying for a US visitor visa (B2 Visa) I made a mistake of paying twice for the same application/unique number. Despite repeated mails to the embassy, I was refused a refund. However they have provided me with an additional receipt number which I can use for any other application. Since everyone in the family already holds a visa, I am willing to offer this number to anyone interested at a lower price than the cost incurred for the visa application i.e INR 11,200. If anyone is interested in this, please contact me.

Planning to visit USA for 1st time
I am planning to visit my Brother-in-law and his family this year. I have no travel history but my wife visited Malaysia 5 years back for 2 weeks.
I will apply visit visa with my wife from Pakistan. We got married in November 2016 and this USA trip will be sponsored by my brother-in-law (my wife's elder brother) which is a U.S citizen from last 13 years and well settled doing job in bank.
I am doing my own business from last 7 years and my wife is also running her beauty saloon from last 3 years.
My monthly income is around 360,000 rupees per month (300,000 from my business and 60,000 i m getting rent from our another property) and my wife's income is around 150,000 rupees per month.

What should we tell to Visa officer that why we are going to USA?
1. to visit my wife's brother's and his family ?
2. to visit my wife's brother's and his family and sight seeing New York ?
or is there any better reason to tell the VO ?

Should we self-sponsor ourselves or my bro-in-law sponsor us for this 3 weeks trip to New York ? Because ultimately we both gonna stay at his house and he will be taking care of all the money matters and each n everything during this trip excluding our return tickets.

My personal bank statement is around 1 Million PKR at the moment.

1. If he sponsors us than I can tell the visa officer that we got married in November 2016 and this New York's trip is our Wedding Gift from my bro-in-law? so Visa officer understand this situation or not?

If there any extra information which can be helpful to us kindly mention. Thanks and Regards.
