Got email from the local congressman that my case in on hold pending submission of my passport. -3/15/2019

My case got delayed because I never got any email from the Mumbai Consulate that I need to submit my passport for final step. I got that information from the local congressman who was nice enough to inquire about my case. (In my visa the clearance date was 2/7/2019)
So one thing I learned here is that bigger organizations like consulates and embassies can make a mistake too. if you are waiting for more than 60 days you need to use everything in your hands to inquire about your case.

24 Mar 2019 — collected the passport but my wife and kids case status still in Admin
Process — any one faced like this situation ?
29 mar 2019 — finally spouse and kids passport dispatched .almost 3 months of wait

Profile(PhD Mech.E) falls under TAL. So 221g. In addition, I did not receive any automated reply after submitting my documents, 3 times repeatedly, to [email protected] . Not sure if this is a common issue. Did anyone else get this?

As others have mentioned, 221 g is taking a bit longer these days. Also, if you havent received the automated response for submitting documents, don't worry too much. Good luck everyone!

Here's my IR1 visa experience.. i was issued a 221g when i had my interview feb.11, 2018 and then when i submitted the additional documents last march 22 with passport attached since that was the instruction and on march 27 it says case last updated and the following day of march 29 my visa was issued already. So its not that really a long time of waiting. Its only like a week or 5 working days. I got lucky maybe or also it depends on the case and type of the visa. So yeah.. im just going to wait for it to arrived.

Recieved email to submit passport (landed in my junk folder) : Feb 28, 2019. Only H1 asked to submit not H4. Called customer care and they mentioned that i need to only submit passport mentioned in email (which is mine). Now waiting email for my dependent.

I had my interview on 1/22/2019 and was issued a 221g with no documents requested after 6 weeks got an e-mail requesting additional documents from my employer. documents were submitted on the 1st of march and on 3/20/2019 got request to submit passport. case last updated changed for the first time on 3/22/2019. I got my passport stamped on 3/25. I am still waiting for my wife's passport which is still with the embassy.
