It was straight forward interview with normal H1 B questions asked by the VO. I thought I have an approval but suddenly the VO looked at the screen with confused face and asked me to hand over i129 lca i797 vendor letter etc.. I confirmed if needed anything other document needed but he said no nothing needed now and handed over the yellow slip with case number

-Came on vacation.
-Officer took passport, copy my employer petition set and our original I797A H1B and H4 approval notices. Next day they called and asked to submit Client to Main Recruiter and Main Recruiter to my employer contract.
-Date changed twice in CEAC Website, still no change in status.
-Its my 3rd visa stamping and 2nd time on 221g.
Paying rent bills in US....
Not sure if I am stuck because my employer is a recruiting company?

Fully funded student on a fellowship. Came to the Mumbai consulate to renew my F1 visa.
Got the white slip and I was asked to submit documents about my research first.
After 2 weeks they requested my advisor's CV, which I sent.
No updates on the website since interview date.
I checked back after 60 days and they told me case was undergoing "mandatory administrative processing".
Anyone else in the same situation?
UPDATE: Got an email today (30th March) to submit my passport.

I appeared for my 3rd H1 renewal yesterday and for the 1st time was given 221g (green color). I am in pharm field. I was just asked about my salary and my degree that it and than handed 221g. I am in pharma research so I guess that's the reason.
I just submitted my documents so lets see when the status is updated.

16Mar17 - I submitted docs on march 1st but didn't receive automated response confirming receipt of documents. Contacted US travel doc support regarding this. I was asked to resend documents to another email address which I did. After 1 wk of follow up, got response from US travel doc support saying they can not accept documents from any other source and has to be sent to "[email protected]" (this is original email where I had sent documents before).
Resubmitted all documents on march 9th, this time received automated response. Now just waiting for decision but I lost 1 week in this process.

The consular office said "Your visa is approved but requires some administrative process on our side and no documents are required. It should take 3 to 5 days to process" Case Created 02/16/2017; Case Updated 02/17/2017 and no updates or correspondence since then. The NVC says the case was last updated on 02/21/2017 and they say the case is with Embassy determining weather to approve or not. I was on F1 and STEM opt. Please let me know if anyone went through the same process. I work as a full time Electrical Engineer.

Hi,
I am eligible for drop box, so i submitted my documents on 2/21/2017 and the case was created on the same day and it is changed to admin processing on the same day. Within 2 days i was asked to collect the passport and i found the blue slip asking me to appear for interview additional documents. I went to consulate with additional documents on 3/3/2017. Visa officer collected the documents from me and asked few basic questions then i was asked to wait. After that they told me that they need to do additional admin processing and she gave me back the passport. I asked her how long it may take. She said, she cannot give the timeline, but it may take approximately 3 weeks.
3/21 -- Got email to submit the passport.
3/23 -- Case update date is changed to 3/23. But still Administrative processing.
3/24 -- Visa is issued.
Did anyone faced similar situation and how long it took to get the visa approved?

Very short interview with no document checks at US Consulate Mumbai. The interviewer handed over a green slip and said they would like to know more about my research. Uploaded the required documents next day. Waiting for the approval anxiously as my travel tickets are booked.
Update - March 21: The CEAC status has changed today from "Refused" to "Administrative Processing."
Update - March 22: Received email requesting the submission of passport. Submitted it today itself. Waiting for the visa approval now.
