Appeared for my interview on February 7th. I was asked questions on job responsibilities, salary, timeline for employment. At the end of the interview was given the 221(g) white form. VO said since it was my first stamping for H1B it is required to do some additional processing which should take 4-6 weeks.
All my documents were returned to me. I was asked to submit past research information, current and previous job responsibilities. Submitted my documents on February 8th.

3/3/2017 - Got email from consulate to submit passport. Passport submitted on 3//6/2017.

My case H4->F1->H1b
-had interview on Feb 7th. No document has been asked, but VO said they would contact my university to get some document.
- Checking status on CEAC, also drop two emails since interview. Both time same response, my application undergoing admin processing, please wait. in email, they also ensured they don't need any document from my side.
- No slip given to me. Just asked me to wait.
-march 8th evening- status changed from admin processing to Issued (application is under final processing, I should hear something back within 10days)
- mar 9th afternoon - received email stating passport ready to pick-up from location (ceac status won't change)
- mar 10th - collected passport. (ceac status remain as Issued, don't changed after even 10 days)

Went for 3rd stamping. VO asked general questions. Could see from her screen that i was issued F1 and H1 visa. Asked for my old passport. Showed her. Asked usual questions - Salary, work place etc. Issues be white slip to produce I129, paystubs etc. Submitted all document on December 23rd. Waiting since then. Online it shows last updated date as 12/12/2016. Hope the soon pick it up to process.

I hold a masters degree from UT. I've used up my OPT period waiting for my petition to get picked in the lottery. Moved back to India in 2015 because my visa petition didn't get picked twice.
Interview - 12th September, 2016
221G case creation date - 9th September, 2016 (I have no idea why it was 2 days before the interview)
Passport was retained at the consulate.
26th September, 2016 - got passport back (no stamp) with another 221g

2nd week of October, 2016 - documents submitted
15th February, 2017 - got another 221G
22nd February, 2017 - documents submitted

Third 221G received had "other" checked at the bottom instead of "administrative processing". Not sure what's happening. USTD doesn't know about the "other" checkbox either.

H4 Dropbox on Jan 201th 2017.
221g blue slip issued after around 10 days.
Documents requested in 221G submitted on Feb 28th 2017.
Wife was told by consular officer that visa will be approved.Passport with stamped visa was received in 3-4 days from that.
At the interview during 221g doc submission, she was asked 8-10 general questions about herself.
When did you go first to US, Where does your husband work, where do you live etc. (nothing too specific or tricky).(I am on EVC model)
So my opinion having gone thru this ordeal, if all your papers are generally ok and if your wife has been in the US on H4 or any other status for more than a few years, the outcome seems to be positive.
Hang in there.Don't lose hope.Best of luck.
