I attended the interview on Dec 15. VO asked the generic questions about my job and then said he could not locate petition approval in his database, although I had the original I 797 with me. He took my fingerprints passport & issued a green slip—no actions required on my part.
There is no change in CEAC still states the same status. (Refused)
Status update from Refused to Admin processing on 02/03 and then again 02/07.

Feb 7, 2020: Passport dropped for Dropbox
Feb13, 2020: Got an email to pick the passport. Picked the passport. The passport had a white slip asking to come for an interview any day before 10 AM.
Feb 14, 2020: Took interview. I had 2 rounds of interview strangely and then was handed off the 221(g) form asking for documents like the 129 petition, project description, client letter, etc. The funny part I was asked to submit I-539 form which is not applicable for me.
Feb 21, 2020: Submitted the docs to the specified email. No acknowledgment yet.
Update: My 221g case was not picked up and it expired on 12/31/2020 so I filed a new petition, attended interview on 01/27/2020 and got approved.

I had my emergency appt for H1 visa t HYD consulate on 29th Dec. VO asked me the basic questions (Do u work for Client or EMP?, EMP name, Client Name? Salary? How long have u been working with your EMP? while tying something in the system and gave 221g white form with the second box ticked. She said we would need some additional processing before approving your visa. She also said, that don't worry you will receive your passport in 5-10 business days. She did not ask for any additional docs either.
When I check for the status online, on the day of interview(Dec 29th) it showed as Admin Processing .
The next day (Dec 30th), it changed to Application Received and check back the status in 2 business days.
It's been more than 2 business days, but I do not see any updates to my application.
Is it Normal? Should I contact the help desk about this?

I applied for an H4 visa via dropbox on March 12, 2020, and I received my passport back on March 16, 2020, along with a white slip asking me to attend an in-person interview at the US embassy in Hyderabad. The letter said the embassy is closed for regular processing and I have been waiting since then in India.
My husband on H1B is in the US and my kids (both are US citizens) are stuck in India for more than 1 year 3 months. My kids are losing formal education. I am not sure what I could do.
Family separation and kids missing out on school causing so much mental and emotional trauma to me and to my kids.
Any leads to get my H4 visa stamping would be very helpful.

Visa was approved verbally during the interview and the passport was retained. No 221G was mentioned, neither any documents were requested. Online case status changed to Refused within a few hours of the interview.
Got an email to collect passport today on 17 Nov 2020. There was a 221G slip in it, asking for documents (invitation, resume, publications, travel, research, etc) to be submitted via email.
