Attending visa interview after 7 years. Lived in the US between 2012 - 2019 9/9/2019 - Interview date - Blue slip given, Admin processing(Name check I think) 9/20/2019 - DS 5535 asked to submit 9/21/2019 - submitted DS 5535 9/28/2020 - NO UPDATE (Still AP) 11/13/2020 - filed a writ of mandamus 12/17/2020 - Consulate reached out asking for the copy of the latest updated i-797 12/17/2020 - Submitted the document at the consulate 1/7/2020 - Received my passport with the visa stamped

Got a 221 g and was approved

I had my emergency appt for H1 visa t HYD consulate on 29th Dec. VO asked me the basic questions (Do u work for Client or EMP?, EMP name, Client Name? Salary? How long have u been working with your EMP? while tying something in the system and gave 221g white form with the second box ticked. She said we would need some additional processing before approving your visa. She also said, that don't worry you will receive your passport in 5-10 business days. She did not ask for any additional docs either. When I check for the status online, on the day of interview(Dec 29th) it showed as Admin Processing . The next day (Dec 30th), it changed to Application Received and check back the status in 2 business days. It's been more than 2 business days, but I do not see any updates to my application. Is it Normal? Should I contact the help desk about this?

I applied for an H4 visa via dropbox on March 12, 2020, and I received my passport back on March 16, 2020, along with a white slip asking me to attend an in-person interview at the US embassy in Hyderabad. The letter said the embassy is closed for regular processing and I have been waiting since then in India. My husband on H1B is in the US and my kids (both are US citizens) are stuck in India for more than 1 year 3 months. My kids are losing formal education. I am not sure what I could do. Family separation and kids missing out on school causing so much mental and emotional trauma to me and to my kids. Any leads to get my H4 visa stamping would be very helpful.

Visa Interview at Mumbai Consulate on 11th February. After some general questions about job: VO (pulled out 221g blue slip): Okay, let's do one thing, send me your resume with your detailed job description about what you do. I just want to check your job description before we could approve your visa. Sent documents on 12th February. (Employment Letter, Resume, Job details. Wrote "N/A" for research, sponsor, publications and travel) CEAC Status on 28th February: Administrative Processing CEAC Status on 3rd March: Refused (New Terminology for AP) CEAC Status on 1st January 2021: Refused

F1 Visa application, TAL 221G PhD in Mechanical Engineering Visa was approved verbally during the interview and the passport was retained. No 221G was mentioned, neither any documents were requested. Online case status changed to Refused within a few hours of the interview. Got an email to collect passport today on 17 Nov 2020. There was a 221G slip in it, asking for documents (invitation, resume, publications, travel, research, etc) to be submitted via email. Submitted documents by email on 19 Nov 2020 Recd email to submit passport on Dec 7 Recd passport back with the visa on Dec 11

Brace up, the wait is psychologically demanding. I interviewed on 23 Sep, VO checked DS160 and passport. He asked the usual questions - on self and spouse, date spouse landed in US and why i did not apply with spouse. Interview went smooth, ended about 3 mins. He did not ask for any of the document i took along! NONE (apart from i797B form). Then the dreaded word -- your visa will need some admin processing, we will contact you. He gave white 221G with nothing checked. On 15 Oct, i got a mail with DS5535 (word document). Sent the filled form on 17th Oct (they sent mail acknowledging receiving the form). THEN THE DARK DAYS BEGUN! No mail from them again. 25th Nov, status updated for 1st time and i got mail to submit passport. Submitted passport on 27th Nov. The quietness resumed again till 10 Dec - status updated for 2nd time from refused to AP. Then 13th Dec, status updated for 3rd time to Issued. I got mail to retrieve passport. The wait can be frustrating, you need to stay positive.
