TPS Advance parole
Hello guys, I've come across a lot of good experiences of people traveling with their AP, I came to the US in March 2014, I was inspected by an immigration officer at the airport and I live with my wife since then but we got married in December 2016 so I over stayed my visa for a little more than 2 years, I already submitted my AOS and I received my AP combo along with my EAD, having overstayed shouldn't be an issue to travel abroad according to what I have investigated that the AP doesn't trigger unlawful presence bar (3-10 years) because is that considered a "departure" but is always good to know about experiences of others with a case similar to mine and see how was traveling with AP having unlawful presence, if you share the same scenario please feel free to share your travel experience with me Thanks.

Traveling on Advance Parole through marriage
Hey everybody! I've been lurking in this forum for a while now to see experiences using the AP and it's making me so much more confident in traveling with it! I got the document last week and I planto go to Brazil to visit my family. I have a few questions and I was wondering if you can help me =)

1. I only got granted the AP so far because something got wrong with my I-765, so I had to send it again on a different date, which means my EAD card is still processing. Do you think there's a problem in using my AP while my EAD is still in process?

2. Im looking at flights and the flight back to the U.S. has a layover in New York before coming to L.A. (where I live). The layover is 2h40min. Do you think this is enough time to go through customs and the background check us AP holders have to go through or should I look at another flight with a longer layover just in case??

Thank you in advance and I love reading you guys' experiences! I hope I get a successful one as well to share here!

Multi-entry AP
Has anyone used a multi-entry AP to travel more than once? I am a DACA recipient, and I was approved for a multi-entry AP a year ago for work purpose and traveled last May to attend business meetings. I came back with no problem. However, I am wondering how the re-entry will work when I re-enter again with only one AP document, which is already stamped. Like everyone else here, I had two copies of the AP, but one of them was kept by the border agent and the other was stamped and was returned to me. Just wondering if they will re-stamp it again at re-entry. I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone can share their experience with a multi-entry AP. Thanks!

Advanced Parole - Trip to Mexico
Hi All! Just want to share my husband's experience with Advanced Parole. My husband had his advanced parole approved in August. Once Trump announced on September 5th that he was ending AP, many lawyers suggested for my husband not to leave the country. We took the risk and left on October 13th. We came back into the U.S. on October 22nd. We left from the airport in Morelia and took a flight to Dallas, Texas. At the Dallas airport, we passed through immigration in the non-U.S. citizen line. They asked my husband for his VISA or residency and we stated that he had an AP document to travel. They took my husband's finger prints. He asked for the document and then processed it and sent us into another room. Sort of like a waiting area with other people. The officer let me and my daughter go in with my husband as well. There were 2 windows. They called my husband's name once and asked for the 2nd copy of the AP (we had only given them one). My husband then came and sat back down. After about 10 minutes of waiting, they called his name again, gave him his stamped passport and 2nd AP document and we were on our way out! Super easy and no questions asked. I want to thank this forum because after reading everyone's experiences it really made me feel more at ease! I suggest everyone who already had there AP approved before September 5th, take the chance and go! Everything will be fine :)

TPS AP-Update
Hi all. An update, after waiting for for almost 7 months; I checked the online status for my AP application today "Case was Approved" Your application I-131for travel was approved, follow the instructions on the approval letter sent by mail' WhAAAAAAAT!

I'm so excited and Nervous..now just need to know what dates they gave me. I'm planing to go for a week. Planing travel dates (Nov or Dec)

Does anyone know if the AP has an expiration date? I hear its good for 1 year from the approval date. Just in case I decided to go in January or February.

If you are still waiting for an approval, just be patience..I know it might take longer time.

Thanks!

AP re-entry to USA at JFK
The re-entry process using advanced parole went off very smoothly. I was carrying all receipts and previous immigrations documents (i20s for previous F1, DS2019 for J1s and H1Bs receipts), just in case. I also carried employment letters, pay stubs and w2s.

When I reached JFK, I was directed to the Perm. Resident line. The officer at teh counter took my passoort and EAD (advance parole) card. Scanned my fingerprints and asked me to follow another officer to another room. The other officer handed my passport and EAD card to a DHS officer while i was asked to wait.

I may have waited 10 minutes while, she did her due-diligence. After which she stamped my passport and it was all done, no questions.

One advice: always better to be over prepared than under prepared.

I DID IT!
Hi guys first thing first of all I want ti thank everyone who has shared their experiences because it was you guys who helped me take the decision of traveling even though things didn’t look so good after sep 5th. I got my AP in the mail on August 28th so I booked my flight to Honduras for sep 30th-Oct 14. I am so glad a d happy I did take the risk a d went for it. Everyone told me not to go but there was something in me telling me to just go and do it. I came back yesterday from Honduras, I saw my grandmother after 16years! When I cane back I stopped at Houston airport and let me tell you guys, they are the nicest officers ever. Always making you feel comfortable throughout the whole process I got into such a nice conversation with the officer that I didn’t even notice that he had already stamped my passport and was all done! If you got your AP...GO DO IT!!! Take advantage of such amazing opportunitie. Good luck everyone and God bless you all!!!!

I-131 approval notice followed by request for additional information
I just received i-131 approval notice on 10/10/17 after calling uscis on 10/03 asking them to expedite my request which was received by them on 9/19. I got all excited but then today on 10/13 i received another letter from them saying that they received my expedite request and need additional information to be faxed to them. The approval notice is dated 10/05 and this letter that just arrived today is dated 10/06. I am very confused why they ask for additional info if they already approved my application. Did anyone encounter anything like this??? Also can anyone tell me how long does it take for the actual AP document to arrive after the receipt of approval notice?? Thank you!
