Hi everyone,

Does anyone have experience with Ombudsman requests? I submitted a request on Dec 04th, and don't know how long it will take them to reply. Also, did anyone get good results after submitting the request?

FYI-To know what's the next step for your case
You can find out what is the next step for your case on the USCIS status check website (dont go on "USCIS my account").
1) Go on Google and type "uscis status check".
2)On the top left you will see "Log in" ...set up the username and password or log in if you did it before.
3) Enter your case number and scroll down.
4) You will see the different steps your case already went through and also at the very bottom what is the upcoming step.

When I checked mine it said that is is awaiting an officer to be assigned to and make a decision on it. It is at NBC.

Hope this will help someone.

Removal of conditions
Hi guys I have a question, If anyone can give me answer. Guys I already file petition I-751 waiver. But I did not sent the divorce decree along with my file. Because that time I don’t get the divorce decree. I already applied for divorce and I will get the divorce decree most probably in this month.
My question is I have to send the divorce decree to USCIS, should I have to wait for RFE or should I have to send the divorce decree directly to my USCIS application service center before the RFE? I hope I will get the response soon. Thanks

I751 - No Receipt Notice after 30days
Everyone,

I understand from some previous experience shared here that many people are not getting receipt notice or response from USCIS after 30 days. Mine was sent on 11/01/202 and delivered 11/06/2020 through FedEx.

My worry now is that I made last minute decision to make the $680 payment with Money gram from Walmart and sent a blank/unfilled money. I know this is a stupid mistake because I should have simply look it up since it was my first time using this form of payment.

I have been so worried because I’m not sure if they will accept it since they should be able to cash it anyway as my signature is not required and the amount is right to the best of my knowledge.

My thought was that even if they send it back I will simply do the needful but this delay now with the money order still not cashed and nothing in the mail exactly a month now is getting me worried.

I reached out to USCIS spoke with a customer service person and he was unable to find anything uploaded for me yet for this application. He gave me lockbox support email address which I contacted but the automatic response stated that stated “ An inquiry related to a receipt notice for Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence or I-829, Petition by Investor to Remove Conditions on Permanent Resident Status will not be addressed, as those notices are not printed by the lockbox.”

My question is can anyone predict or advise what will happen as I’m trying to stay positive this should not be an issue since they can still go ahead to sign the money order as required to get the money.

I never use a lawyer to file my previous applications AOS and decided to also do this myself to the best of my ability. I did put in so much time and gathered information while preparing my application so it will be painful if this result to a delay.

Please share your thoughts...

CSC Case Approved and Green Card in Hand!
Never thought I would write this but my husband's 10-year green card came in the mail yesterday!!! So very happy, the journey for the green card is finally over. Citizenship next! This forum has been extremely helpful in keeping us both sane so thank you to each one of you!

Here is the Timeline:

Service Center: California (CSC), finally seeing some movement! Did not transfer to NBC as we have not applied for citizenship yet. We did not have an interview.

We did not hire a lawyer, did everything ourselves, case was straightforward. Took exactly 505 days from the time they received the application and we got the green card in mail.

07/17/19: USCIS received our file
02/04/20: Biometrics applied to our case (fingerprinting done at Oakland, CA office, we live in Fremont, CA)
11/24/20: At exactly 11:30am, case status changed to card is in production
11/25/20: At exactly 8:30am, case status changed to case is approved, we sent you an approval letter notice
11/30/20: At exactly 3pm, case status changed to we mailed you the new card
12/1/20: At exactly 5pm, case status changed to your card is picked by post office (they give you a tracking number as well to see the estimated delivery date, we received the card a day in advance, it was supposed to come in today!)
12/3/20: At exactly 1pm, case status changed to, card has been delivered by the post office

I picked the green card from the mailbox immediately and the expiration is 11/24/30.

The entire journey has been very emotional. I am so lucky we had each other for support. Even though it was my husband getting the green card, he was more patient than me!

Documents we sent with our file:

1-751 application
Leases of apartments we stayed at after our marriage
2 letters of affidavit of support from friends who signed they know our marriage is true and entered in good faith
Rental insurance
Health insurance
Various bills showing we live at the same address
Various holiday trips we took together
Joint checking and savings account information with the account numbers masked
Tax returns from the time we got married
50 photos from our trips together

I say the wait is long which is the most pain staking of it all. But you can do it! Just hang in there and never give up!

If you have any questions, do let me know. This forum helped us both so much and I would certainly like to help in any way I can. Next stop, citizenship town!

Good luck everyone!
