Social Security Number
Should I be worried because I am going crazy, my husband received his EAD card Monday May 11th after that we have called the local social security office every single day asking them if they have received anything or able to see if his application has been processed or not, because USCIS said they sent his application to the social security administration on the 5th of May, they have told us the same thing over and over again we do not see anything on our end, how am I supposed to keep my sanity this process has been completely way too much and if it wasn’t for reaching out for help through congressman we would be waiting till next year I am sure! Please help. How long did it take for you to receive your social security number after reviewing EAD?

It took 7 months!!
Hi guys,

I've been visiting and reading your experiences on this site on the daily basis since July 2019 and finally yesterday I got the biggest news! (I've been waiting for yesterday for 28 years... yes you read right YEARS)

I want to share my experience to tell you with certainty that God is good and his timing is perfect!

I'm C9 category (From Guatemala) and I applied thru my Daughter the day she turned 21, and I live in Orange County California

Below are the details of my timeline

07-25-19 RD for I-130 (Texas service center)
10-13-19 RD for I-765 and I-485 (NBC)
11-01-19 Biometrics completed

After that I heard NOTHING... but I kept coming here to read and to get my daily dose of hope, and FINALLY...

05-01-20 I-130 Approval notice
05-14-20 I-765 New card is being produced (I cried and called my daughter and we cried together and I said to her "your momma is no longer living in fear")

Last night after work we celebrated and I had the best meal of my life and today I feel that I even stand taller!! LOL

Hang in there guys, it looks like USCIS is processing applications still!

Regards and tons of positive energy to ALL of you

L2 EAD Approved - California Service Center
Hello Guys!

I wanted to provide my experience regarding my L2 EAD renewal at California Service Center. My RD was 2/28/20 and my EAD was due to expire on 5/31/20. Knowing how long my first EAD took, I reached out to my Congresswoman's office well in advance on 4/6/20 and they requested USCIS for an expedited review but was denied the next day. We tried again with additional paperwork (detailed cover letter and proofs showing financial loss, medical bills of self/parents, etc.) on 4/16/20 and it was denied yet again saying we did not provide proof of extreme emergent need (unbelievably so!). But the Congresswoman's office was super helpful in my case and they said that possibly since my EAD expiry was over a month away, our request was being denied. I was told that if I don't get any updates from USCIS by 1st week of May, they'll have the Congresswoman herself speak to a USCIS Supervisor. When I didn't get any update by 5/5/20, I reached out to them again and they requested for a call with USCIS Supervisor. Soon after (next day), they received an update that my case was under active review by an officer and will be completed in 10 Biz days. I got the approval update the next day from USCIS website (5/7/20) and today (5/14/20) I have it in my hand!

So my advice will be to use all tools aavailable to you - Expedite via Service request, Congressman/Senator, Ombudsman as soon as you can.

Good Luck to you all! Take Care!

EAD approved request, but didn't ask for evidence?? I would like to send them my offer letter and other documentation to help the decision process.
I received this email today:

"Your Case Status: Decision

On May 13, 2020, we approved your request for expedite processing on your Form I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION, Receipt Number YYYY YYYY X. We are processing your case and will send you a notice of action with our final decision.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision."

I have not been asked to fax any documentation. I already have all the documents ready to send to them. Is this normal? Has anybody else received this email before?

Thank you for any help!
