EAD experience
Hi, guys.
I wanna share my experience about the EAD, hope could help someone relieve the stress.

12/01/2017 I485, I765 arrived USCIS.
12/08/2017 USCIS Acceptance Confirmation (email updated that receipts was sent)
01/02/2018 Biometric Done.
01/05/2018 RFE affidavit of support (email updated on 01/09)
02/14/2018 USCIS updated received my RFE response (Fedex delivered on 02/12)
03/02/2018 did Service request and Ombudsman online.
03/08/2018 SR: in the old system shows not assigned. Ombudsman replied: We will notify you when we receive information from USCIS.( registered USCIS New system https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov )
03/13/2018 We are producing your card and will mail it to you. ( updated on 03/14)
03/14/2018 We approved your case. ( updated on 03/15)
03/15/2018 We mailed your card to you. The U.S. Postal Service will deliver it. ( updated on 03/16)
PS: old system still shows case was received, so register the new account to get latest update .

Now: waiting for the card to be delivered ( no tracking )

Overalls, my opinion ( DIY, no lawyer) :
RFE might not start over the waiting time. (maybe I was lucky, maybe Ombusman helped)
NBC normally takes 4 months to process EAD at present . (compare to others' share timeline)

hope the information above can give some clues to help someone still waiting.

I-485, Status Adjustmentu
Hello Folks,
I have a question. So I already have filed my case by myself and doesnt have a lawyer. But after waiting for 4 months without receiving EAD I received a letter for initial evidence. So I am thinking that I should hire a lawyer to help me further in my case. What do you folks suggest. Married to USC for over two years, filed November 01, 2017 NBC. I have applied from Kentucky.

Thank you

Ombudsman IS REAL! REALLY HELPFUL!
Hey guys! just here to tell you the end of my story.
so I started my process on August 2017.
Got my approval notice on January 5th, 2018 for my EAD.
kept waiting for weeks and after several weeks I came here and realized that the Bio metrics had to be done before the EAD because the picture and the finger prints are for these documents, and I never got any bio metrics notice or appointment.
So I contacted USICS of course they didn't tell me anything, called my lawyer and he said to wait, but after 7 months waiting I didn't want to wait anymore, so after reading a lot of good comments here about ombudsman, I did it, I contacted them on February 22 and they took like 2 weeks to respond that they had contacted USICS and they were waiting for their response.
The next week I got an email form ombudsman saying that the USCIS were took action and the same day I got my bio metrics notice appointment for March the 9th.
on March 11, I got an email from Ombudsman saying that the USCIS said that my EAD was in process yayy!
And I got my EAD card today! (march 16th) this information never showed up on the case status online, in fact it still appears that they have approved my permit and I will get a notice by mail.

SO..... guys! if you think you are waiting too long, use the resources for help and contact Ombudsman! I really feel that they are really helpful!!!!!

Sending really good vibes and hope for all of you guys that feel sad and lost. :)

Hi every one,
How long does it take to receive your EAD card, after you filed I-765 based on a pending asylum?

No AP in EAD
Yesterday I received my EAD, but the problem is I did not get any AP.
And in my EAD card it says there “not valid for re entrt”?

Should I wait for the AP? Does they approved it seperately?

Delays due to priority dates not being current?
For applications with one of the categories in the visa bulletin:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2018/visa-bulletin-for-april-2018.html

I wonder if applications filed using the "Dates for Filing" instead of "Final Action Dates" are getting delayed. My priority date is current under the "Dates for Filing" table but not under "Final Action Dates". I submitted the I-485, I-765, and I-131 applications with a notice date of October 13, 2017 and have heard nothing since the fingerprinting in early November.

Are there any counterexamples here i.e. cases where the "Dates for Filing" is current, "Final Action Dates" is not current but an EAD was received?

Thanks!

Status Messages
Folks,

Thank you for posting your experiences here. It's super-helpful!

I signed up on the "new" dashboard:

https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

Out of curiosity, under "Case History" for the I-765 application, do you see any messages about fingerprints being received by USCIS? I see:

"We received your case - October 13, 2017"
"We received your biometrics fee and are reviewing your case - October 13, 2017"

I got my fingerprinting done on November 6, 2017 and there's no mention of that. I also raised as SR in early February and I just see a message saying it hasn't been assigned as of February 7th. But that seems to be usual.

Thank you!

Online case status
Hi all,

I wanted to share my experience of using the online page to check the status.
I just got my EAD approved after 101 days. But I found out something interesting...

If I use the public "case status online" page where you can just type in your receipt number without having to log in (at https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do), my status still only says "Case Received".

But then when I log in using the account I signed up for (at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/), then the actual status shows up and I can see the history of when it was approved, etc...

I'm not sure if this is going to be same for everyone, but I thought I'd share this with you guys.

Good luck to everyone.
