EAD Timeline
Hi everyone,

I'd like to share my EAD timeline:

PD (NBC): October 2, 2017
Bio: October 27, 2017
1 SR: December 18, 2017 (No response)
2 SR: January 25, 2018 (No response)
Ombudsman Request: February 5, 2018
Card Is Being Produced: February 15, 2018
Card Mailed: February 21, 2018
Card in Hand: February 24, 2018

It took 133 days from the receipt date of the application to the approval date, and another 10 days after approval to actually receive the card.

My advice: if your application is out of normal processing time (more than 90 days) - which apparently many EAD applications are these days - reach out to the Ombudsman's office, fill out their form online and explain your situation. It seems that this really makes the difference!

Best of luck to everyone!!

EAD
Hello everyone
This forum is life saving and giving hope to those who still waiting for EAD

I am US citizen and my husband is the reason why I have registered here.
We filed in September (New York)
Sep 18 2017 case received
Category C9
Office: NBC
Biometrics done October 17, 2017
We have been waiting for more than 5 month now and nothing changed on USCIS website
Still saying " Case received...bla..bla..bla"
Raised 2 SR 1/30 and 2/15 No respond
It was not even assigned to anyone
Faxed application with all the form attached to Ambudsman office 2 days ago and received confirmation from them stating that they will look in to the issue.
So I hope that something will change soon.

Does anybody else here from September can share some info regarding this matter?
Thank you

Sept filers
Are there any Sept filers out there still waiting??

Receipt date: Sept 1 2017
Svc Center: MSC
Married to US citizen
Raised 2 SRs so far and nothing

Dont know if this ever happened to anyone of you. I have called on Feb 16 2018 to inquire on 1st SR raised on Dec 29 2017. She told me that the SR are lost now (how did that even happen??1!) and should raise another SR today. Once she did that she told me the system popped back saying I should receive either my approval letter or EAD card by Feb 21 2018. I was jumping up and down with happiness, believe me i was. BUT by the Feb 23 2018 there was still NO CARD! So, of course I called USCIS again and was told I was given the wrong information!!! My case has not even been approved yet so how could there be a card coming my way!!! WTF They cant even give me any explanation why I was given the wrong information.

I have been waiting for 176 days now. Its hard to be positive but im trying. It is so wrong on so many levels to mess with my head after knowing I've been waiting for 6 months for the card.

EAD-approved after 116 days-3 SR, 1ER, Inquiry from congressman's and senator's office
Thank you all for sharing your experiences. They were very helpful.

I-765 C-3(B)- First time OPT
Receipt date-30-Oct-2017
Approved-23-Feb-2018---116 DAYS

1st Service request-19-Jan 81 days----- got the standard reply- wait for 30 days
2nd Service request-31-Jan 93 days----- got the standard reply- wait for 30 days
Expedite Request - 16-Feb 109 days----- Didn't qualify despite providing offer letter.
20th Feb-Contacted Congressman's and senate's office - Signed a form giving them permission to inquire on my behalf, gave them copies of offer letter and receipt.
22nd Feb-got a call from congressman's office said the case has been expedited and you will hear about the case in 7-10 business days.
3rd Service request- 22-Feb 115 days----- just wanted to see if the response of service request says anything about expedition but the reply was standard- wait for 30 days.

I am not sure if congressman or senator helped becasue i saw other cases with same reciept date got approved with me so could be just a coincident but there are some cases with same reciept date still hanging so congressman's efforts to expedite might have worked. Contacting them and getting positive response provides motivation forsure.

I must have talked with L2 officers 5-6 times. Got so many different answers and excuses for not able to provide precise information. One of the most bizarre responses from the L2 officer was the timeline is no longer 90 days it is 5 months and one officer sounded just like he was sleeping while answering the questions.

I had to postpone my joining for 6 weeks. Thanks to my employer for waiting

Lesson learned.
If your case is pending for more than 90 days, start pursuing it actively.
USCIS handles each case independently and some cases take more time for the background check.
Talk to congressman's and senator's representatives and use this opportunity to make friends with them. we might need them with our future cases with USCIS. The federal agencies like USCIS are answerable to them. They certainly cannot change the decision but they can pressure them by inquiring about your case which usually results in expediting your case.

Some life lessons:
Don't lose hope. life is hard sometimes, but remember nothing is permanent.
The real beauty of life is always there so, learn to enjoy it.
Do everything you can but don't waste your time making assumptions and thinking about bad future.
Everythings gonna be alright.

EAD expedite
Hi all,

I got this response from Senate , Does this means my case is already in line for expedite, Any one has same issues. I will appreciate your feedback .

Thank you for your inquiry regarding this constituent’s immigration matter. This case will be routed for expedited processing. Once this case is reviewed, your constituent will receive a decision or notice of further action. Due to the extremely high volume of expedite requests for this case type, there are numerous cases involving exigent or humanitarian issues already in the expedite queue, and we are unable to provide a specific timeframe for the expedited review. The strict enforcement of the expedite criteria means that all cases sent for expeditious handling are urgent, and we assure you that this case will be adjudicated as soon as possible.

We hope the information provided is helpful. If we may be of assistance in the future, please let us know.

EAD SR vs nothing
Ok guys, hold your horses. If you think SR, ombudsman or Congressman request will speed things up - think again. My buddy and I have have filed with same category C18 at about the same time, same circumstances. I did 2 SRs, Ombusdman and Congressman assistance request. He did nothing.
Guess what? His card came before mine. So if u think that your card came earlier because u called and spoke to USCIS, it's probably because time arrived anyway.
But then again, every case is different...
Good luck to everyone.
Also, every category gets processed from different pile of files, so it's irrelevant to compare your case to others. NBC wait time 4-6 months.

Anyone got EAD without SR or Congressman?
After reading many experiences on this forum it seems now that everyone has to raise multiple Service Requests, Ombudsman or Congressman to get their green card EAD.

I am curious to know if anyone recently got their EAD card without following up with USCIS?
If yes, I would really appreciate if you could share your experience, priority date and service center.
