EB3 ROW San Jose
Hello,

I've been reading your experiences for so long (almost 3 years). My case was a bit complicated and you guys were a great help! It didn't change my timeline but it really helped a lot. I think I owe you to share my experience too. Maybe someone will find it helpful.

I am a spouse of a H1B visa holder. So I hold a H4 visa. Everything was done by the immigration companies through the job. The company that we started the process with was acquired while perm was processes. Form I-485, I-765 and Form I-131 were filed together under a new company's name. Here is our timeline of I-485:

December 13, 2018 : Forms were submitted
January 15, 2019 : Fingerprint Appointment
February 25, 2019 : EAD status changed to "New Card Is Being Produced"
February 26, 2019 : EAD status changed to "Case Was Approved"
February 28, 2019: EAD status changed to "Card Was Mailed To Me"
March 5, 2019 : EAD was delivered to the attorney's office
March 7, 2019 : RFE for my spouse's I -131 (He left the country while it was processed)
March 19, 2019 : I-485 status changed to “Case Transferred To Another Office”
March 20, 2019 : I-485 status changed to “Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction”
April 02, 2019 : USCIS denied my spouse’s Form I-131 and approved I-765
July 9, 2019 : I-485 status changed to “Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview”
July 9, 2019 : I-485 status changed to “Interview Was Scheduled”
August 13, 2019 : Interview at San Jose office (Hit by retrogression)
November 20, 2019 : I-485 status changed to “New Card Is Being Produced”
November 22, 2019 : I-485 status changed to “Case Was Approved”
November 22, 2019 : “Card Was Mailed To Me”
November 27, 2019 : Cards were delivered to the attorney's office

It was a very slow and painful waiting time. Thanks for making it a little bit better !
I wish you all to have a less stressful process. Stay as patient as you can )

Nov 27-2019: Inquired with congressman help and got response "While a decision has not yet been reached, the case is currently under review. We are unable to determine at this time when the review process for the case will be completed."

EB-3 Application for over 2 years
Hi guys,

USCIS received my I-485 fingerprint fee on Aug. 2017, and my case status has been showing "Nebraska Service Center location is working on your case" since then.

It has been over two years and I am still waiting for the interview notice. I filed an "out of processing time" inquiry, and they responded as "needed additional review".

Does anyone has similar experiences or can give me some suggestions? I really do not know what else to do now...

Thank you very much! And wish everyone who is still struggling in the Greencard processing situation good luck!!

I-485 EB2 Interview
Interview experience:

Norfolk, VA, 12/10/19

First part of the interview was a questionnaire separate from the I-140 questions. After the oath and confirmation of my identity, officer started asking questions (from some list) about the company who sponsored my H1b visa initially, how did I discover them, who else from my country I know who applied with me with this company (none that I knew), what was the salary offered, what was the screening process conducted by the company-sponsor before they offered work visa sponsorship. All of my answers were carefully typed by the officer in the document, which he asked to review after and sign. Then he brought another officer as a witness to my signature. That officer asked if I indeed just signed this questionnaire.

After this Q/A session about the company sponsor of the visa, was a series of standard questions about my day-to-day duties at work, my experience and yes/no questions about potential violations and military experience. As additional documents officer asked for the paystubs and experience letter from the GC company sponsor (different from H1b sponsor).

I wonder if anyone else received these questions about the initial entrance. It seems either they suspect something (fraud?) or just gather the information about the companies.

Biometric Appointment DC
Hi everyone,

I applied employment based green card from Washington DC. My noticed date August 1,2019 . I am still waiting for biometric appointment. And I saw that everybody got their appointment very in 1 month. I-140 form already got approved. But I think EAD and advance parole can't be approved without finger print.

Does anyone has same situation with me in DC or Virginia ?

Thank you,

change of employer after EB2 I485 interview
Hi,

I have an EB2 I140 approval and our interview was on Nov. 2019. The case is still under review and no news though the officer told us we will get an update within 2 weeks. I understood that this happens a lot and is normal. however, I have got a good job offer that starts on Jan 2020. If I receive my green card by then, great, otherwise I need to switch to EAD and terminate my current academic h1b.

So my question is that is there any chance that if I change my job after the interview before getting the GC, I get an RFE or they ask for another new EVL from the new employer? I am working on similar fields (though one university and another one is a non-profit research institute), any information, hint, comments or any possible issue that I may run into?

Just to mention, my new employer has to file I9 (verification of employment authorization), I am not sure if this will just check my status or also notify USCIS that I am changing my work.

Thanks in advance~
