I485 Applied April 10, 2020, still waiting
Hello all,

I wanted to know from all of you about I485. I am from Nepal and had applied for my I485 in April 10, 2020. I received my first EAD back in July and have again applied for EAD renewal. Is anyone waiting for their I 485 to be updated around that time or has anyone’s 485 been approved? I would really appreciate any information.

Thanks in advance

EB2 applicant approved but spouse with no news
Hello,
I am an EB2 applicant who last week got an update on USCIS website as card mailed to me. My husband and I applied both on November 2019 and we have been getting the same updates. We both got the "case was updated to show fingerprints were taken" update two weeks ago, but after that it is only my case which has been update and today my case shows as card has been delivered (to lawyer). Is it normal to have a delay for the spouse of an EB2 applicant to get his GC? What can we expect now?
Thank you so much for your valuable help.

EB-2 NIW
This forum was helpful to me, so sharing my timeline and hope is helps someone too.

June 16, 2020--- I-140 (Concurrent filing with I-485, I-765, I-131)
(June 17, 2020-- I-140 Priority Date for EB-2 NIW)
June 23, 2020--- Receipt I-140 immigrant petition (Premium Processing)
July 2, 2020------ I-140 Approved
July 28, 2020 ---Notice for Fingerprints/Biometrics Appointment
August 10, 2020-- Biometrics Appointment Date (Completed)
August 14, 2020--- I-765, I-131 EAD/COMBO Card in hand
August 17, 2020---Updated to Show Fingerprint/Biometrics were taken
December 22, 2020---Case Transferred to New Office
March 30, 2021---RFE (Medical)
May 7, 2021--- Medical was delivered by FedEx to USCIS (No updates on USCIS website)
(on May 25, I asked EMMA if USCIS received my Medical, she gave me the update from Dec, 22)
May 27, 2021---I-485 Case Approved
June 1, 2021---Card was mailed
June 4, 2021---Green Card in hand!

In all, it took 11 months for GC approval since filling with some months of silence (6 months in total which is normal). I don’t know if my use of EMMA prompted new activity on my case on May 27, but I will advise you use it wisely. Yes, the US immigration system is unfair and expensive to those willing to abide/respect its rules. But, take it from someone who has been in this country for almost 13 years; trust the process, it somehow works!

4/20/21 – Service Request
5/12/21 – live chat with an office via Emma
5/13/21 – RFE for Police Clearance Records and personal sworn statement, letter received from Chicago Field Office
5/18/21 – RFE Response sent
5/19/21 – RFE Response received by USCIS Chicago Filed Office
6/3/21 – New card is being produced

I didn't get any updates on my USCIS account apart from 'Case Received' and 'New Card Is Being Produced' which was quite frustrating.
I had to take my biometrics twice as they were unable to take my fingerprints properly. In the end I had to get a police report and send it to the Field Office.
I didn't have to go through an interview - which I quite appreciate.

Good luck to those who still wait - be patient, be hopeful, your turn will come soon!

Eb1-A: Quitting my job before greencard
Eb1A
New York
Priority date: Oct 29, 2018

My company petitioned for my Eb1A application.
My interview was on April 2020 but due to covid 19, it has been cancelled and I haven't hear from them ever since.
I been thinking about quitting my job and becoming a freelancer.
Since Eb1-A doesn't need any sponsorship, there for I am not bounded by my employer, can I quit anytime? Also, IF I DO become a freelancer, how do I prove that I am still doing similar work to USCIS?
Thank you
