I have gone on apr 5th for Visa.
The visa officer asked me abt my current company (in india) and asked abt the client letter.
After that he asked the company photos. With that photos he gone inside and then checked with my client letter in his PC.
After 5 minutes he told me that they need Additional Adminsistrative Process. he said once its completed they ll call me back. he has taken my Hi pettion, lawyer docs,Comany photos and Client letter.
Can any one tell me what they will do and for this case how much time it will take.

Got 221g at Chennai Consulate
I have attended visa interview at Chennai consulate on 7th April with my wife and my 7 month old son. Initially, we were worried how to feed him since they are not allowing any food items inside. But, to much of our delight, we were sent early in the queues (for both document verification and the actual visa interview).
This was a very pleasant surprise and whole process took just 30 minutes.
Coming to the actual interview, the officer was very polite. After initial greetings, he asked for my green folder and then my degree certificate. He verified my credentials using my roll number on the certificate. After that, he asked for the Client's name. Then, he took finger prints for both of us. Then, he asked me to show the letter from the client. I gave the client invitation letter. Then, he asked details of the project. When I was about to explain, he asked me documents for the same. I said I do not have them. After some time, he said that he needs some additional docs. to issue the visa. He handed over a slip to me which contains the list of the docs (technical description of the project, market analysis, itinerary of services). He said that my wife and child need not come next time and I can walkin any time on tuesday, wednesday and thursday.
This is my experience.
My sincere advise to all of you who are attending interview is that you make sure you carry
i. Client invitation letter (if you are going for client project)
ii. Contract Letter between the client and the employer
iii. Detailed Technical description of the project, timeline, current status, no. of employeees, market analysis etc.
iv. Itinerary of services
The visa officers are asking one of these docs and issue 221g if any of them is missing.

Successfully got H1B and H4 last week !!
Hello Everybody,
I am a regular reader of Immihelp postings since last few months. I appeared for my H1B and H4 for my wife and son in chennai consulate for the first time on Nov 2005. I got 221g asking for so many documentation.
I attended for the second time by end of December and I was interviewed by a lady officer and she was happy with all the documents I carried expect the project document. She said "Sir, all the docs are ok, but I am not very happy with the project description. I am looking for a detailed version.." and she gave me 221g again and asked to use VFS dropbox to drop the document.
I dropped the document in VFS dropbox with the required detailed document and I waited for 45 days for the response again asking for the company's lease agreement. Without loosing hope, I again tried last week with the asked documentation. This time I'm lucky and the officer was very happy to issue me visas easily.
After a long wait for few hours I was called by an officer. She asked me few questions about the techincal desc. of the project, my work location, current phase of the project etc., She issed me visa.
Please don't loose hope and give up if you get 221g multiple times. Try your best with genuine documentation, surely you will succeed. Good luck to all !!!

Successful H1B in New Delhi on 22nd march after 221(g) in Malaysia
Hello Folks
I got my H1B on 22nd march in New Delhi Embassy, I am working in Kuala lumpur, Malaysia but offcourse Indian citizen.
It was really simple and hassle free.
Following is the conversation between me and VO
VO: Hi there sir
Me: Good morning mam
VO: Your file please
Me: I gave the file
VO: So why your visa was rejected in Malaysia
Me: (Note I didn't gave her 221g but she still knew)
Mam I am working there only from past 1 year and they said since your all education and most of the work experience is from India so we would like you to go in Delhi.
VO: Okay, can I see your degree and certificates
Me: Passed the file
VO: I am sorry, but I need to go and verify them.
Me: No problem
VO: (Back after 10 mins) I am issuing visa Sir.
Me: Thanks alot ma'm
I would say, just reply them as much needed and don't confuse them much by telling something extra or showing extra documents which hardly would make difference, I saw some ppl carr'g there BrainBench certificates and than having trouble explaining them about there authority, etc.
