    • Got my biometric appointment letter today. Letter dated 12/22 and appointment on 01/22.

Also, the letter says service center is NBC which I think is the National Benefits Center. Any input on what this means. I thought my service center was Texas Service center.

Service Centers manage your case. Usually, they schedule biometrics& ensure all initial evidence is satisfactory, issue any initial RFE until the case is ready to be scheduled for interview and issue a deficiency notice if you did not include your medical. They will also adjudicate your EAD if applicable. Your interview notice usually come from NBC as well. For AOS, this almost always is the NBC in Missouri.

Field Offices are closer to you geographically& handle the interview& final adjudication, but can do all of the above as well if they deem it required or is missing/ expired by interview date.

ASC (Application Support Center) take your biometrics only and are seperate from field offices and in different locations. For me, my ASC was in a different state than Field office.

I still don't have biometrics appointment until now. Happy for those who already got theirs. Happy New Year everyone!

Hi! Thanks for sharing this information. Can you please share some more information on what exactly happens on a biometric appointment day? It is good to be prepared. I am right now waiting for my I-485 receipts.

It's a straight forward procedure. You show up no earlier than 15 minutes before appointment time& observe standard covid guidelines. If USCIS enclosed a form with your appointment letter to fill out your biometric data, such as height, weight, name, date of birth etc, then have that pre-filled out and bring it with you & remember to bring your Passport. After they ID you, they will take your picture (i.e. they will take a photograph) & fingerprints (usually all 10 fingers, but not always). They will stamp& sign your appointment notice& return it to you as your receipt& you are done. Make sure you don't have any paint, grease or anything that could complicate the fingerprinting process.

Thanks. I have just applied for the renewal of my passport as it was expiring soon. I hope I will get it back soon as I applied for tatkal service. I hope I should be fine with it. I can take both the passports for the Biometric appointment when I get it.

I got my NOA receipts (physical) yesterday.

                        • Yeah it's silence after receiving NOA. I'm checking my status everyday but no luck. I think our immigration papers are stuck until a President has been officially proclaimed and seated. That's what most people around me are thinking.

                          • Hi All,

                            EB1

                            AOS package sent on 10/28/2020
                            AOS package delivered on 10/29/2020
                            Texas service center

No receipt notices yet !! Its been 70 days. USCIS call center representative says contact lockbox email address to get the number and had no luck in even getting the receipt numbers.

                            Any suggestions ?

                            Regards,
                            Kay

You don't need passport. They accept US drivers license as well. I did my Biometrics appointment today and had the same experience as explained above but I used US drivers license as the ID.
