Successful H1B after 221g in chennai
Hi everybody,

I got 221g last month. Today I attended again and I got it. They asked me to produce 1.petitioner’s client info.
2.Complete itinerary of my H1B duration and
3.Letter from my end client.
I asked all these Docs from my employer. They are very genuine and took around 25 days and sent the same to me. Only one document they were unable to provide. For that they gave an explanation letter saying that they are not in position to provide it.

I took these documents along with my Exp.letter. I-797.I-129 Etc. After reaching the consulate, in entry gate they used to call 221g as blue paper. If anybody comes with blue paper immdly they let to enter without standing in the Q. then as usual security check. Then we have to stand directly in the cashier counter (Needless to stand on TTS Q) where a woman checks ur Rs.2300 DD and issuing New token. After Issuing new token she will ask you to stand any one of the Counter to check all your Passport, I-129 etc. When I was there, there was a heavy crowd so they took all our docs and ask us to move to the next building where the visa interview was taken place. Due to many 221g people + Regular appointment holder, the building was overflowing. Consulate people struggled a lot to accommodate every one.

I was asked to sit in chair. After half an hour, they called my token No. and gave me the folder which was collected earlier (containing my passport and petition etc). Then I was waiting for my tern. Mean while I watched the entire counter, almost many of them are getting their visa, irrespective of category( F1 or H1B or B1). It was not hectic like my previous appointment, when almost every one got 221g.

My token was called up. My VO is looking well experienced and he is around 40-45.not asking any unnecessary Questions. If the docs are genuine he is sectioning visa without any hesitation. I was standing as 7th candidate in my row. U cannot believe me every one standing B4 me got Visa. 2 H4 and few L1 got sanctioned. Not only in my counter, Next to my counter VO was young lady. She was very friendly in nature and to every candidate she is discussing many things like climate in US,snow fall in NY& asking about their cute chid.etc.

Come to my counter, VO didn’t asked me many questions. He asked about Docs that mentioned in my 221g, when I produced it, he had a look and told me to pay the fee in counter 1. That’s it. I said thank you and paid my fee.

VERY IMP: Take 2300/ DD still there are many people from Andra, not aware that they have to pay 2300. They come with 2200 and struggling. If the candidate is chennaite no problem in accessing a bank, but many people from other state don’t know any thing about chennai and searching for a bank to take additional 100 rs DD.

So good luck to everyone

Successfull H1B Stamping at Chennai, after getting 221(g) twice
I've appeared for H1 visa interview for 3rd time at chennai after getting 221(g)twice [1st time at Delhi, 2nd time at Chennai].
It was a one-minute interview where the Lady VO asked me to brief on the project details. That's all about it, and I was granted my visa.

* Previously, I was re-directed from Delhi to Chennai, and was asked to come back with the following documents:
- US company tax returns
- Company photographs, building lease document
- Major Contracts, Company Brochure, Bank statements for last 6 months

* When I appeared at Chennai consulate for 2nd time, I was given a refusal (221g) again & was asked about the In-House project details:
- Technical Description
- Marketing Analysis
- Project Schedule, Resource details
- My Roles & Responsibilities

As per my experience, its very important for everyone to carry Project Details (whether In-House or Client location). Also, if you are going to work for any client, a letter from client is a must. This is almost 99% sure shot question at Chennai Consulate.

All those people who for 221(g), don't panic. Take all the required documentation asked for, and your visa will be through!

GOOD LUCK!
