Successfull H1 - Mumbai Consulate
Hi,

Hats Off to "immihelp". I used to visit this site daily and used to prepare myself accordingly.
My interview was scheduled at 8:15 AM and I reached there around 7:30 AM. There was a huge queue outside the consulate and they asked me to wait in the queue . whn they allowed to me to go inside it was already 8:45 . Never mind !!!!

Inside they took my finger prints (both the index fingers ) and gave me a pink token.

The questions asked by him :
VO - Good Morning !!!
VO - Ur visa was refused once in 2003 ? Wht u appied for ?
Vo - Wht will u do there in US
VO- How long have u been working there
VO - Wht will be ur responsibilities ?
VO - Are u married ?
VO - planning to ?
VO - Where will u stay in US ?

VO - ok we'll courier ur passport

thts all
He didn't even ask for a single document.

Just be confident and read whtever is there in the documents u got frm ur US employer. They must have mentioned ur roles and responsibilities in those docuemnts. One more important thing - Please Visit the consultte office in "Formals". It works !!!

Poonam

successful H1B and H4 after 221G
I am in USA.When one of the companies sponsored H1B for my brother who is MCA with 5 years experience in one of the top MNC, he was given 221G when he first went on Oct 6,2005 and was asked to get following documents:

1.A list of all candidates petitioned by the petioning entity in the chennai consulate, the exact times in which they joined and worked (inclusing the date of departure if no longer with that entity) and their current whereabouts.

2.photograps (15) of the inside and outside of the pettioner's work premises to be provided by the employer.

3.Interior and exterior photos(15) of the petitioning employers work premises and of the work premises where the H/L worker is /will be deployed to be provided by employer.

4.Provide a detailed and specific account of how the H/L worker will be employed during the next 12 months.Be sure to specify location, client and client information, nature of the project and duration of teh project.

5.W-2 forms for all people employed by the petitioner for 2004 and dates of their joining.

The consulting company here said would give everything, but for the client letter, it came out as the project being in-house and gave a detailed despriction of the duties to be executed by my brother. So in all we had doc 1,2,4,5 as In this case there were no client photos(as the Employer itself vouched for being the client).

My brother went to Chennai again on Nov 23,2005 .He was made to sit for 3.5 hours and then taken for second round interview in which VO showed some dissatification over the client letter.

However after a few round of questions ,he and his wife got H1B+H4 successfully.

Thanks for Immihelp.

Successful H1 and H4 AT CHENNAI CONSULATE
These contents may be useful to 221 g canidates.

My interview with the first time(LAST WEEK OF SEP) was not at all satisfying as the VO looked very angry and asked only question abt
VO: Show me your degree certificates:

mE:Showed the certificates
VO had a look at his computer and checked something from the subjects in MCA course curriculam and simply gave me a blue form without even asking the client info even though I did not have any info on this.
We said thank you and came off.

Second time(2 WEEK OF NOV)-:-

I and my wife were standing in counter no 7 where a young lady was taking a interview.
She was interactive and was giving away very visas easily.

There was counter 6 where another lady was strict and was so many questions .I saw one guy who had a blue form already had been issued blue form again as the requested info was not correct.

When my turn came the lady I gave all the requested info in one consignement.
sHE asked my educational qualifications and later said your docs would be verified by one of my colleagues so please take your seats and we waited for another 2 hoirs to get tour turn and this time no6 lady called us.
ME:Good after noon mam
VO:Good after noon

VO:your educational qualification
ME:MCA

VO:where is the requested info-client letter+ W2 forms
me:right in that consignment

VO:Who is the client
ME:the client is YYYY

VO:how long is the project
ME:takes 12 - 18 months in production

VO:What i sth eduration of the prject:
me: 1 and half years

VO:can you decsribe what project outline
me:Described teh project

VO:Why do you want to change your job?
ME:wanted to work in diff work culture

She went inside and contacted some of her senior colleagues.it was 5 miute discussion on w2 forms.
She returned all the papers and went inside again.
I though we would be given blue form again.
Then she she came again and said your visa is approved and pay the fee at counter no1
sHE KEPT THE Pp'S..RECEIVED THE PP after 2 days.

be confident and give your best.

DDs structure
Hi,
This information is for the candidates who are attending the consulate after receiving 221g.

You need to pay Rs 2300 as issuance fee. If you have a 2200 DD already then you can take a split DD for Rs100.

But, If you are going after 1st dec then the consulate won't accept split DDs. They will accept the DD for Rs 2300 only not 2200 + 100.

So pls make your arrangements accordingly.

Thanks,
