Successful H1B stamping at London
First of all, I would like to thank you everyone who have shared there experiences in this site. Also, I would like to convey my special thanks to the site administrator who is managing this site.

Coming to my interview, I had an interview at London Consulate on December 8th at 10 AM for H1B (Bioinformatician). I was there on time and they let me inside immediately.

The procedure started like this. As soon as I entered into the building, one lady gave me a token number and asked me to take a seat till my number is called. My number was called after one hour or so where they took my finger prints and gave a form to fill about the company details and personal details. She took all the documents and asked to wait for the interview. After 2 hours my number was called again for the interview.

Before, going to interview procedure, I would like to let you know that I am currently working for an American MNC company in Scotland at present and visited US four times on a holiday.

The interview went ahead like this.

ME: Hello there, good afternoon.
VO: Good Afternoon.

VO: At ***(present job), as what you are working?
ME: Replied SAS database Programmer

VO: Where did you do your education?
ME: I did my graduation in India but came to UK for Masters in Bioinformatics on a Scholarship Programme.

VO: Where did you do your Master's degree?
ME: *** University in Scotland.

VO: How many employees work for your ***(UK) Company?
ME: 10000 (Ten Thousand)

VO: How many employees in Your US company?
ME: 8 and they are expanding it to 40 by end of 2006

VO: How much is US company paying and why you want to leave the present?
ME: $50000 and I get paid quite less here

VO: What does US company do?
ME: I explained that they provide software solutions and carryout analysis stuff, etc for the pharmaceutical and biotech companies

VO: Go and pay $50 and get the receipt back to me and you will get your passport in three days
ME: Thank you very much & have a nice day!!

My interview was exactly for 6 mins. I was quite happy that the interview was so short. I got my passport back yesterday. Throughout the interview, I was confident, friendly, and maintaining eye contact with VO.

Friends, to get the US visa, I think the first part is documents preparation and then preparing yourself properly for all possible questions with supporting documents. Secondly, LUCK.

** I didnt have any questions on projects or clients. Also, I didnt have pictures or client letter***

I dont know whether these questions are useful or not but my interview was like that. Thank you once again for support.

Urgent Help Needed - 221G at Chennai Consulate
Hi friends,

I have attended Visa interview at Chennai last week and has been issued 221G.Consular officer asked me to submit the following documents. When I informed this to my employer I had a positive response ,at the same time they have informed me like I need to prepare some documents. In their words "We have gone through the 221g. the documents asked from previous company that is client and work experience and point of contact is for you to prepare.

But what I believe all the following list of documents has to be given by my Employer .

 A list of all of the petitioner’s active projects. Identify the client and point of contact with the client, including a phone number and email address of that person. If the contract with the client is held by a third party, provide names and contact information for that party as well. Do not send a batch of contracts in lieu of this documentary requirement.

 A detailed and specific description of the internal development project to which the beneficiary will be assigned. Include a complete technical description of the project, timeline, current status, number of employees assigned to it, location of the worksite, and a marketing analysis for the final product.

 A complete itinerary of services or engagements specifying the dates of each service or engagement, the names and addresses of agent, the names and addresses of actual employers, and the names and addresses of the establishment, venues, or locations where the services will be performed.

Could any one of you please confirm that whether all these documents to be given by my Employer (OR) is there anything I need to prepare from my side for the above 3 documents.

Kindly let me know your experience / comments on this.

Thanks and Regards

SV

Successful H1B stamping at Chennai on 02-DEC-05
Hi ! I am indebited to this forum for helping me in my preparation for US visa interview.
Here is how my visa interview experience went:
1. I booked thru' TTS. So, paid fees to TTS, submitted my papers (DS 156, DS 157, H1 papers (Copy of I129, Original I797, Copy of LCA, Offer letter(s) etc.) at counter # 5. Usually, at this counter basic verification like DDs, Photos, data filled in etc is verified and returned so that we can wait for interview. But in my case (and some others case, the docs have been retained for "verification". They were provided to us in the next building where everyone was waiting for interviews. I GUESS, it is to check my previous US stay and departure details. I guess this is the case since i checked with others waiting in similar situation and all of us had been to the US earlier.
2. I was then called for finger printing. It is just finger printing exercise to avoid delays in the interview counter.
3. I was called to counter # 4 for actual interview. The officer was a middle aged man, bit stout. Not sure if he is always in that mood or on that particular day, he was in bad mood, but he was dreadful just by appearance !!
4. Interview # 1-
ME: Good Afternoon sir.
CO: No response, no gestures, no eye contact.
CO: What is your educational qualification
ME: Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engg)
CO: You are not qualified to work as a Programmer analyst.
ME: Sir, I have been working for an AMerican MNC for last 5 years, I have Brainbench, Sun certifications.
CO: we don't consider certifications
ME: But I have more than 7.5 years of experience and I am offered a job by another MNC too.
CO: OK, let us verify certain things, you can wait there for the timebeing.

I had to wait for a good 2+ hours before some other lady CO called my name.
This time it was in Counter # 9.
CO: What is your educational qualification?
ME: Bachelor of Engg.
CO: Where are you currently working?
ME: Current MNC Company's name
CO: What are your responsibilities there?
ME: xxx
CO: What will you be doing in the new MNC yyy?
ME: aaa
CO: Who is the client you will be working for?
ME: (As already discussed in this site, this is a tricky question.) I said, MNC yyy has more than 490 customers and so, I might be working for more than one customer. I will be working for the MNC yyy.
CO: Can I see your exp letters ?
ME: Provided
CO: Can I see your degree cert?
ME: It is in the BEP (Business Executive Program) folder already.
CO: She glanced at these docs for 2 mins. and said she is issuing the visa.
