I had an appointment on 27th Oct
I had an appointment on 27th oct , but it was cancelled due to heavy rains in chennai and its again re-scheduled to be on nov'19th. Now, in my case, i have already taken dd's for both 4400 and 2200.My doubt is, since i was supposed to attend on 27th oct, can i still go with same 4400rs and 2200rs dd's or i have to go according to revised fees? every one who could not attened on 27th oct will have the same problem as mine. So some one pls share if u have the info.
Thanks in advance
Shekhar

Fees changes for who takes appointment vis VFS
With effect from 16 November, 2005

There is a revision in the US Visa Fees due to an adjustment of the consular rate of exchange. The rate of exchange will now be Rs 46/- to 1 US $. This fee will be applicable for all payments made to HDFC bank on and after 16 November 2005.

The fees payable at HDFC Bank per application will be: -

1. Visa Application Fee (MRV Fee): $100 in Indian Rupee equivalent at consular rate of exchange. Rupee amount at current rate of exchange (Rs. 46) is Rs 4,600/-

This fee is payable in cash or by DD/HDFC Bank cheque favoring “US Embassy – Visa Fees”. DDs issued by cooperative banks are not accepted.

2. VFS Service Charge: Rs 276/- (inclusive of Service Tax @ 10% and Education Cess Tax @ 0.2%)

This fee is payable in cash or by DD/HDFC Bank cheque favouring “HDFC Bank a/c VFS”. DDs issued by cooperative banks are not accepted.

IMPORTANT: Applicants who have purchased an HDFC receipt prior to 16 November, 2005 may continue to schedule an appointment using the same.

The fee receipt gets activated 2 working days from date of issue. Do not attempt to take an appointment till then.

3. The Issuance Fee: $50 payable in Indian Rupee equivalent at consular rate of exchange. The Rupee amount at current rate of exchange (Rs. 46) is Rs. 2,300/-.

The Issuance Fee is payable only by demand draft favouring the “US Embassy, New Delhi” or “American Consulate General, Mumbai (or Chennai or Kolkatta)”.

Applicants scheduled for an interview from 16 November 2005 onwards are required to carry a demand draft with the revised amount. If you have already purchased your draft or submitted your draft to VFS (Mumbai Consulate applicants), prior to this date you may carry to the visa interview an additional draft of Rs 100/- in favour of the “US Embassy, New Delhi or the “American Consulate General, Mumbai (or Chennai or Kolkatta)” drawn in the city where the interview is being held. DDs issued by cooperative banks are not acceptable.
