Received 221 G blue form for my H1b
I went for an interview on Nov 23, 2018 and received 221 G in which they asked to submit few documents by my petitioner through email to chennai id.

My petitioner has sent the documents on 29 jan 2019 but my H1B status expires on 07 feb 2019..

Now do I need to go for an interview before the h1b status expires or wait for the admin process to be completed ??

Please suggest your ideas with your experiences...

H1B stamping Nueva Laredo, MX
01/31 I did my H1B visa stamping after changed to my new employer.
Stayed in laredo,Tx and took a greyhound bus to go from laredo, Tx to Nueva Laredo, MX. Actually this was a bad decision. There a walking bridge and you can take your bags and cross the bridge and take a taxi to go to hotel. I will do that next time
So the tough part is to pay the MRV fees at Mexico. Fortunately I had a friend. I did a western union cash pickup at local store for 3890/ peso ( $199 ) and my friend paid the mrv fees at scotia bank. You can also pay it in banamax bank too.
The bus stopped at a mexican border where they will check your passport and ask for your details. If are going to stay less than 7 days you don't need a visa to enter mexico from US. Also if you have a valid visa you don't need a visa too to enter mexico.
They will stamp your entry.
Grey hound dropped me at the bus station nueva laredo. I walked to the Best western plus. You can take a taxi. 80 to 100 peso.
In booked via booking.com so breakfast was part of the deal. So i paid 95 peso and used translation to say that I'm vegetarian.
From best western you can walk to ASC ( biometric ) 5 minutes work.
Next day I left my room around 7 am for my appointment 7:45. Its 8- 10 mins.
At the consulate they , I-797, DS-160 and employer letter in the letter head.
Normal questions.. like where are you working, how long you are in US, where do you stay in US, who do you work for and where is your family etc... They literally typed everything and it took almost 5-7 minutes in front of the interviewer. They said your visa is approved and I can collect the passport at 3:30 in the same place.
I checkout my room took a taxi and collected my passport ( 20 mins ) you should be there only at 3:15 sharp and they will issue the passport around 3:30 pm.
The taxi dropped me at the border.
Dropped 4 peso on the machine walked into the US. The us customs checked my visa and issued I-94.
Back home !!!

Administrative Processing in Hyd Consulate since Jan 23. Case last updated Jan 25. F1 to OPT to H1
Had my VISA interview on Jan 23 and VAC on Jan 22. Did a Masters in a good university and then joined a reputed company. Changed from F1 to OPT to H1 (got H1 in 2017. This is my first H1 stamping). Came back to India after about 3 years.

VO asked questions about salary and highest designation. Then he asked me if I was ever on F-1 and if I was ever out of status. I said no to out of status. After my OPT, i had applied for STEM extension which was approved, but since I got H1 same year, I dont think STEM OPT is in effect. He said that they had to do some administrative processing on their end and that it usually takes about 3-4 days. He mentioned that he didnt need anything from me. He did not however say the words that VISA was approved.

Its been about 10 days. The CEAC page shows "Administrative Processing" and last updated date is 25 Jan, 2 days after the interview. Creation date is 22 Jan, VAC date. The ustravel docs support team just asked me to wait. Can anyone suggest as to the expected timeline. I have my flight on Saturday, 9 Feb. Looks like I might have to reschedule that.

Thanks.

No slips, H1B approved , no change in CEAC, Administrative Processing
Hi guys,

Interview date: 31st Dec 2018
Location: New Delhi
Last Update : 31st Dec 2018- Administrative Processing
Visa approved, no slip

I have been waiting for my visa for over a month now. I have not been asked for any documents, even checked with my employer. I have posted on various forums, trying to get answers about why there is such a delay and why CEAC is not being updated.
I understand there might be several people on the same boat. I request you to check out the below link. I don't know of it will help or not. But may be this 'Administrative Processing' will be less opaque (or more translucent) in future.

Administrative Processing
This was my 1st H1b visa interview.

OFC: 30th Jan
Visa appointment: 31st Jan
Location: Chennai

Reached the consulate almost 30mins prior to my appointment time, along with my family. I was able to reach the counter in about 10mins. This is how the interview went:

Me: Good Morning Mam!
VO: Good Morning! Can I have your passports please?
Me: Yes!

and i handed over our (wife & mine) passports with DS160 confirmation page. She took the passports.

VO: Is this a fresh application?
Me: Yes, this is a fresh application for H1b visa

VO: How long have you been working with <current company>?
Me: I have been working for almost 7years now

VO: Who is your end client?
Me: <client name>

VO: What is your salary?
Me: <xxxxx USD> as per the LCA

VO: What is your designation in your company?
Me: I mentioned my current designation, which probably was different from the LCA role.

VO: What is your role?
Me: I explained the role, this time mentioning the LCA role.

VO: Is there any other middle vendor between your company & client?
Me: No. We are one of the premium technology partners for our customer for over 15years now.

VO: Thank You!

Now she turned to my wife.

VO: How long have you been married?
Wife: x years

VO: Was it an arranged marriage?
Wife: Yes

Then she continued to type something into her screen for while. When she turned to us she said that she would be approving our case and asked us, while pointing to a document titled "Know Your Rights", if we had read it earlier.

Me: No
VO: Here you go! (handing over the pamphlet titled "Know Your Rights")

Then she turned to her screen, and asked: "Do you have any other passports?"
Me: Yes. Here it is.

She took the old passport and then handed me a green colored 221G, marked as 'Administrative Processing'

VO: I'm going to keep your passports. Here's your case number. You can track the status online and should be updated in 2weeks.

Then we left the consulate. Anybody facing a similar situation. What to expect under these conditions?

H1B Visa @Hyd
Folks,
I have followed this thread before and thought it's useful for others if I post my exp @HYD

Note: Avoid HYD consulate if you are working with Vendor or Desi Consultancies.
Before getting into Interview details, I have been in US for more than 15 years now and unfortunately I'm still on H1B. Currently working with reputed MNC here at NYC.

Visa Interview:
VO: Good Morning!
Handed over the PP & I-797 in advance.
VO: Purpose of travel
Me: H1B, Currently working with XYZ.
VO: Ohh.. I used to work with XYZ
VO: How did you get the job?
Me: I was working with ABC(Big reputed company) and my former colleague referred me to the current position.
VO: Salary, Roles, Address of stay.

Finally, the golden words.

Heard many got 221g at HYD and two were rejected just before mine at the same counter.

Hope this helps and Good Luck!!
