interview at Mumbai, H4 issued, H1 still Admin processing
Has anyone experienced Admin Processing for H-1B while their H4 for dependent was issued and passport collected? In the interview at the end, VO said that visa was approved. Below are my details:

10/29 - Biometrics
10/30 - Personal Appearance and Interview. Basic questions asked such as: Employer, Role, Client, Highest education, salary; No questions asked to spouse
10/30 - ceac.state.gov site for both applications says: Admin Processing
10/31 - Admin Processing for both
11/1 - Spouse (H4) receives email that passport was ready for pick up. ceac.state.gov site says visa was "Issued". H-1B (my case) - no update. Still says Admin Processing. Last updated date: 10/30

11/2 - my case (H1) last updated date changes to 11/2, but status still remains "Administrative Processing".

Does anyone know what could be happening?

H1 stamping question
Hi Everyone,

I have done my master's in CS in a state university and worked for an X company during my CPT for 10 months for which I was paid. My opt started on (Jan 2017-dec 2017) and I had to leave x company at the end of Jan during my opt to complete my school work. I joined another Y company for an unpaid volunteer work for 4 months project during OPT and joined for another Z company as EC model and is one of the fortune 100 company and have been working for more than 1 year. My stem OPT started from Jan 2018 for 2 years. My employer have filed for h1 and got approved for 2 years from oct 2018-2020. I am planning to go India this December for h1 stamping.

I have all required documents and client letter. My only concern is will I have problem with the 2 months gap between X and Y company? and also having unpaid work from employer Y after paid job with employer X and Z

Please let me know if anyone have this kind of profile and should I be concerned for any?

Thank you

Need Advice | Visa Stamping - H1B extension
I would appreciate you guys’ help. I am full-time Electrical Engineer with an USA Engineering Design & Consultancy Firm. I have had my Visa Extension approved this February. I am planning to visit India coming Jan, 2019 and appear for Visa Stamping against the Visa Extension Petition. I wanted to know if there is any risk with travelling now?

Here is a brief history of my scenario

1. F1 Visa: I did my MS in Electrical Engg from SUNY Buffalo.
Approved F1 VISA period = 16 Jun, 2011 to 1 Sep, 2014.
I worked Full-Time against my OPT (regular and 17 months extension) for my ex employer (Lets say Employer A) for 18 months from 25 March 2013 to 10 October 2014.
Approved OPT period = 25 March 2013 to 24 March 2014.
Approved OPT period (after 17 month extension) = 25 March 2014 to 24 August 2014.

2. H1B Visa: Employer A applied for H1B visa for me and I got selected in the lottery in 2014.
Approved I-797A period = 1 Oct, 2014 to 31 Aug, 2017
This is the last Visa stamp in my Passport.

3. H1B Visa stamping: I did my H1B visa stamping in Oct, 2014 against the abovementioned petition.
Approved period on H1B visa stamp = 10 Oct, 2014 to 31 Aug, 2017

4. H1B Visa Transfer: I changed my job in May, 2015 to my current Employer (Let’s say Employer B). They applied for H1B transfer petition, I got I-797C right away. Took a bit of time to get approval notice I-797A.
Approved I-797A period = 5 Nov, 2015 to 18 May, 2018

5. H1B Visa Extension: My current Employer (ie Employer B) applied for my H1B extension this Feb. (Premium Processing, there was no RFE and we got the approval within one week without any hiccup)
Approved I-797A period = 18 May, 2018 to 20 Oct, 2020.

I wanted to ask you guys if you think it will be risky to travel considering the political climate. Do you see any issues with my scenario as described above?

To recap=
• I am a full-time direct employee in a USA Engineering Design & Consultancy Firm (Employer B).
• I have been working for Employer B last 3 yrs 6 months. I wish to apply for Visa Stamping in Kolkata Consulate against the H1B extension petition they applied.
• My BE (from India) and MS (from reputed university in USA) are in Electrical Engineering and all my job (including the current one) in USA have been in Electrical Engineering.

Thank you in advance.

New Delhi Dropbox October 2018
Hi guys,

My background:
1. October 15: Submitted documents for H1b change of employer at New Delhi Consulate
2. October 16: Case created
3. October 17: Administrative Processing

Since then there is no update on the CEAC website. Have called the hotline number as well as reached to the embassy- they require no additional documents yet. Yesterday, Oct 31st, the USA traveldocs website got updated to 'There is no status update for this passport number' from "Your passport is still with embassy/ consulate" and CGI website as " Document Delivery Information:". Has anyone faced similar situation? Has anyone done Dropbox at New Delhi Consulate?

Need advice
My current H1B visa is expired and got the extension up to April 2020. My employer started green card processing stage#1. I am planning to travel to India in July 2018 and I will be going for stamping as well. By the time, (hopefully :) ) if my green card GC passes stage#1, will there be any issues that I can anticipate in H1B visa stamping interview? If VO asks me a question about my GC, if I tell about the fact, do they deny my H1B?

Please share views and experiences that fall under this case.

Got H1B Stamping only for Six Months
Hi Team,

Can you Please Suggest.

My Name is Sriram, I did My Masters In US. In 2017 My H1B got Picked and got approval in 2018 Feb (I got Approval Up to 2020 Sept). In Aug 2018 I went to India for H1B Stamping. Surprisingly I got stamping Only for Six Months (Up to Feb 28, 2019). When I entered US at port of entry, Initially they gave I-94 Up to feb28 2018, But I showed them My I-797 Approval Notice then they gave me I-94 based on I-797 end date.

Recently My marriage got fixed and I have to travel in DEC 2018 or Feb 2019. Which is the best time to travel. Do I need to go for stamping if I go before Feb28 2018 ? If I apply for H4 dependent Visa, o which bases they will give Visa (I mean based on my stamping or based on my I-797 ? )

Please Suggest

Thank you
Sriram

F1 to H1B Visa Interview - Chennai Oct 29th 2018
This my first H1B visa interview.

Background:
I got my H1B approved in 2016 for 2 years and got it amended+extended this year. I work on EVVC model and had Master's from a state university. I was following this forum for a while and wanted to share my experience. I see many people are being set under admin processing in HYD consulate since their inflow is really high. And that's the reason I chose Chennai and you will know why exactly below.

Oct 29th 2018

VO: Hello.
Me: Hi officer, how is your day going so far.
VO: (No reply) Pass me on your passport.
Me: Passport provided
VO: Is your employer blah blah.
Me: Yes, my employer is blah blah.
VO: How long are you working with them
VO: What is you pay per annum.
VO: Do you work at client site?
VO: Client letter?
VO: LCA?
VO: I need to verify something, please be seated and keep this yellow slip with you.

It's been 2 hours , I'm no nervous and i was planning my future in meanwhile on what to with my car and stuff in USA :P

I almost heard 15 times that your visa has been rejected from the counter behind me. There are many rejections for all other VISA apart from H1B. I see people with H1B working as full time are directly approved and asking people who are working on EVC model to be seated.

Call arrived me to go and see the officer in same counter.

VO: Ah seems like internet is too slow.
Me: As a Network Engineer that's what I work on :P
VO: Your profile is locked, may be someone has it still open.
VO: Never mind, I cant login to your profile. Everything looks good so far, take this blue slip. You can leave.
Me: I'm I good to go? How about VISA decision.
VO: You passport will be out in 3-4 days. Have a nice day.
Me: Great news, thanks.

Seem like instead of going for admin processing, they are doing it right there having me to wait in lobby. Which is a good sign.

Status is approved today and will receive my passport soon.

Good luck!!
