successful first H1B visa interview at new USA London embassy
had a successful first H1B visa interview at the new USA London embassy.

appointment Friday Sep 21 2018 @ 12:30 PM

reached embassy and joined the security queue at 12 PM
Took a backpack with all the documents listed below including mobile phone and over the ear headset

documents:
passport
DS160 confirmation page
Appointment/Instructions page
Original I797
Copy of I129 and LCA
Offer Letter
employment verification letter
support letter
6 months paystubs
original degree certificates
W2(s)
50mmX50mm photo

I'm a british citizen with UK passport
Cleared the initial security check in 15 minutes
collect token number from ground floor desk
reached first floor waiting area via lift
waited for my number to be called
in the first call to the interview window with visa officer, I was asked for passport and I797. gave 10 fingerprint scanning. also handed me a information pamphlet covering the rights of H1 visa holders
asked to go to the other side of waiting area and waited for second call

second call to the interview window with Visa officer resulted in exchange of information regarding below,
1. what do you do for your company?
2. what is your highest degree?
also handed me a information pamphlet covering the rights of H1 visa holders(again)

VO told the magic word " your visa is approved" and you should receive in 3 working days.
VO retained the passport and I797. Whole process took around 1.5 hours till exit out of embassy

I opted for home delivery of passport. Visa stamped on Monday and first delivery on Tuesday.
Missed my first and second delivery attempt by the carrier. Called the carrier office on Wednesday and opted for collection at delivery office on Thursday. Collected the passport and I797 on Thursday.

returned to states on Sep 30 via PHL.
simple interview at port of entry without asking any documents. new I94 entry issued till visa expiration.

all the best

H4 VISA issued but H1b still pending
I went for visa stamping on May 7 2018 and after 4 months I got an email to reappear for the interview. During the interview officer said that my visa is approved. He asked me to submit my and spouse's passports. After a couple days, my spouse got the passport with the visa stamped but mine is still with the embassy. Status say it under admin processing. This is very frustrating. it is been more than 2 weeks now.

Does anyone knows or have any similar experiences. Please share. Thank you.

H1B 221g Hyderabad Consulate
I attended H1 interview yesterday at Hyd consulate and I was given 221g after checking all my documents. Interview questions were very normal like employer name, salary, title project description etc a the end VO looked at the i129 and issued yellow slip and asked for below documents in an email.

He also said, "I know you may have all documents but we need digital copy, please send us below documents so we can process it soon"

Below is my background.

I work in EVC model. I am working for same employer and Client from last 3 years. My employer is small but it is a legit company with absolutely clean paperwork. Relationship and paperwork between employer and vendor is also legit and clean. My Client is VERY known company have I have the client letter.

> W2 and tax returns for last 2 years. --> I have it.
> i129 and LCA --> I have it.
> Employment agreement between me and my employer - i have it.
> A copy of contact between my employer and end client. Since I am in EVC, my will be sending contracts between Employer and Vendor and Vendor and Client.
> A letter (on letterhead) from personnel department at the US end client company (the job site where you will actually work) stating that there is a vacancy for you. - We are sending Client letter for this. It was issued back in May when my H1 extension was filed. (Client won't issue new letter stating it's still valid because assignment end date is sometime in next 2 years on client letter)
> A detailed description of the project to which you will be assigned. Include a complete technical description of the project, employer, timeline, current status, number of employees assigned, worksite location, and marketing analysis of the final product - My employer says that this is not applicable for us because.

Can anyone suggest if they have faced similar situation or suggest our if our approach is correct.

Regards,
Amit Kanwar.

H1B Approved Delhi Consulate
Thanks to immi help posts, I was able to prepare well for the interview. I would like to give back, by sharing my experience as follows.

Sep 21 Bio metric
Sep 24 Monday - Visa Interview
Sep 25 Tuesday -Morning - Admin processing
Sep 25 Tuesday -Evening - Visa issued on website.
Sep 26 Wednesday -Afternoon - Passport ready to be picked up.

I used this site to track both, visa approval and passport,

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-niv-passporttrack.asp#options

I had a mistake on my DS160, that I was able to update the same day and appear for my biometric. Off course this can be a nerve wracking experience, please review each and every information on your DS-160, few weeks prior to interview.

On the day of interview, VO asked the following questions:
1. Kindly provide your 797A.
2. Kindly provide your previous 797A (I had an amendment made early this year, due to new job in same company).
3. What is your designation ?
4. Which project are you currently working on ?
5. What is your salary ?
6. Is this your first time getting H1B visa ?
A: This is my extension, of previously approved H1B.

7. Which visa did you had prior ? ---Checked old passport for F1 Visa.
8. When did you graduate ?
9. What did you do after your graduation before you got your H1 Visa ?
A: Mentioned I was on OPT.

10. Can you provide OPT Card ?
11. How long did you work on OPT ?
12. Do you know your rights, when you filled your DS-160 application ?

Your Visa is approved, we will let you know, she kept the passport.

I was a little concerned when she said we will let you know, but everything worked out well. The interview lasted for about 5-7 minutes.

Kindly wear formals to interview, if you are appearing for work Visa. Be confident, and stay calm.

221g White slip for H1B at Hyderabad VC
Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I went for my H1B Visa Stamping at Hyderabad Consulate. I have answered all the questions very well. The VC asked me whether I was previously an F1 student. I said yes. She then picked up and gave me a 221g white slip and said NOTHING TO WORRY IT IS JUST ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE and she didn't return my passport and said that you will be receiving an email about the status of the case within a week.

Has anyone had this experience? Is it really gonna be one week? Is there anything to be worried?
Please Help

Planning on H1 Stamping this November
I plan on doing H1 Stamping this November in my hometown. I've been in the US for 13 years. Came in on B2 visa and then had the following statuses:

B2 -> F1 -> F2 -> H4 -> F1 -> H1

Anyone think I am doing something crazy? I always have valid status, and was never out of status.
