H1B, H4 Visa

Hi I am traveling to India in Aug, planning to book OFC and Interview appointments (Hyderabad). in Aug in 2nd and 3 rd week respectively, I could not found out any slots available after aug 02. Is it disabled so that they can open in future or they are already booked ?
Does any one has any idea?

I went through my interview recently on 24th May. I was asked some basic questions and handed me 221g telling that general Admin Processing is required. After 4days when I checked the status it is showing as refused, I didn’t get any email or message and my passport is with embassy only. I don’t know what is happening. I’m on FTE. Let me know if anyone is on same boat, please share your experiences.

Has anyone appeared for an H-4 visa interview after expiration or rejection of their H-1/L-1 ? I want to know how to prepare for the question of “intent to work”.

I had my visa interview on May 10 & 11, 2018 along with my husband’s H1B visa stamping. His visa was approved. I got blue slip of 221g because I have biotech background. Visa officer held my CV and passport. Hope to get an idea of when this might get resolved. All your inputs are appreciated.

I recently got my H1B approved in Feb 2018, and will now be going to India for stamping in June.
I have few questions -

My LCA mention Level 1 Wages, with a prevailing wage of 65k. However I have always been paid much more than 65k, close to 90k. Will the "Level 1" wages still be an outstanding issue or concern for the VO?

Is there any way to address his questions if asked.

Went for H1-B and H4 stamping. Was eligible for dropbox as my previous visa expired within an year and I was with the same employer.

April 27th 2018: Went around 1 pm. The wait time was more than 2 hours. Did not submit.

April 30th 2018: Even though the timing says 10 am, go around 9 am. Walked in after 5 minutes in line. Submitted passports, DS160 confirmations, photos (2 per person), I797 copies. Make sure with photo studio or people around the dropbox office to see if you have the correct format of the photo.

May 2nd 2018: Got an email with the following content.
"Your document(s) have been collected from the US Embassy/Consulate.
The passport number being returned is xxxxxxxx. You have chosen to have your documents delivered to the following location: " I was not sure if the passport was ready to pickup. I emailed "[email protected]" to confirm.

May 8th 2018: Picked passports with ID cards. US license or Aadhar card work.

I attended H1b consulate interview on 9th Feb 2018 .The VO didn't ask me any documents, took my passport , gave a 221g white slip and told me that my application needs administrative processing , told me that she thinks she can approve my visa but after 5 days i got my passport back with 221g white slip in it .
Any one one with same case please respond.USCIS reached out my employer in person twice and took all the docs they needed but my case is still in admin processing .

Thanks to everyone for sharing their experience and now it is my turn. I recently traveled to India and I scheduled my stamping at Mumbai consulate. I scheduled my OFC appointment on very next day I landed and visa appointment on next day as I saw many people were getting Admin processing and I had 4 weeks in India so did not want to waste time.

Little bit background about my case (I was worried a lot as nothing seemed in my favor). I came to US on L1B and worked for around 2 years with same company(in total I worked for more than 7 years) then after a consultancy sponsored my H1B. After working for few months at a client location through EVC model, client offered me full time position. It is US based reputed product company and I have been working there since less than a year now. I work in-house and earn in 6 figures.

When the consultancy filed my H1b they described that I will be working on in-house project whereas after approval they put me on client project which I found through a vendor (I carried all vendor/client letters). They filed my H1B amendment as the client location was different (I insisted to that consultancy to do so as they don't care much but ultimately we get into trouble). Though I am working full time I was worried as one of my friends had the similar case and he ended up with admin processing. Also, some people told me that if your passport is changed in US then also they can issue admin processing due to verification. I renewed my passport in US after my H1B approval.

OFC process was smooth. One thing to note that they don't even allow smart watches so please don't wear smart watch to OFC or consulate appointment. They allow some fitness watch (fitbit/garmin) but I would suggest to avoid it.

The followings questions were asked.

Give me your documents and passports (I gave recent approval notices I-797A for myself and my wife). Officer returned H4 approval and I said I don't need it.

2) So what domain it is ?
3) You work in-house then ?
4) This is your first time stamping and you are travelling to US ?
A: I answered yes but I said I am already working in US
5) Were you in US before and on which visa ?
6) So you changed from L1B to H1 in US ?.
7) You went on L1B for company X then working with full time for company Z?
A: I said No, I went to US on L1B on company X then switched to another company Y and then company Z.
8) What is the company Y name ?
9) All these changes you have done in US ?
10) What is your designation ?
11) How much do your current company pay you ?
After typing into her computer for a while
12) Do you have any kid and looked at my wife and asked do they have US citizenzip?
A: Yes

Then my I797A was returned and I was pretty sure that my visa is approved. She then said that your visa is approved and you will receive your passport depending on your delivery type (I opted for premium courier delivery).

I prepared for all questions previously asked and shared by many people in this forum. Even though questions like why did you switch from L1B to H1B what was your role why did you work in EVC model where in-house project was shown.

We were really worried and scared but things went really well and we got out passports in 2 days.

I ave following Questions, if anyone has experience with this type of situations.

1. Can we fill DS-160 with maritial status as yes, as the status will be married when the time of interview?
2. Can we have biometrics appointment before marriage and interview after marriage ?
