Suggestion on dropbox and whether to travel or not
Hi Guys,

I am planning for trip to India for H1 stamping in February 2018. I entered US with H1 visa and it expired in Dec 31, 2017. I applied for first extension and it got approved for 1 year.

This will be my first H1- extension stamping. I am eligible for dropbox in chennai consulate.

I have received approved petition and expiry date is Dec 31, 2018.

Should I travel to India for stamping or should I skip it, considering that only 10 months will be left for my visa expiry.

I am from well known MNC and working for client at client office US.

I am reading lot about 221 g. Please advise.

Thanks in Advance.

Interview date is different than Visa issue date
Visa interview was on 19 Jan and got apporved visa with issue date as 22Jan. Usavally, issue date should be same as visa date when h1b petition is approved with past date (1 oct). Is there any problem with these?

Changed the status from F1 to H1B
Interview lasted for about 2 minutes.

1) Are you working for XYZ Company ?
2) What's your designation?
3) Are you working at client location or XYZ company location?
4) What's your highest educational qualification ? - M.S in computer Science
Please read the know your rights pamphlet carefully. Your Visa got approved. Good luck

Will update the post after i receive my passport.( opted for premium delivery )
Side Note:

I spoke with a person from ABC company yesterday. They currently had big project starting at client location. And, nearly 10 of his colleagues attended visa interview (In Hyd) from last weeks of December till now.

For the people who attended in last week of December, they were given 221g slips and their administrative processing was cleared within a week, got approved.

For those who attended in Jan, they just had the few basic questions just like i had and their visas got approved.

Hope this would be helpful.

H1 B Visa approved (Dec 14) but under admin processing
Hello,

I appeared for interview on Dec 14, 2017 for H1B visa extension at US Embassy, New Delhi. I was told the visa application was approved and I should wait for about 10 days. Its been over a month now but haven't heard back. Also, no slips or no notifications regarding missing documents so apparently my case is smooth. I am very concerned how much longer can it take and if there is, for sure, a time limit to such processing.
