H1B Interview @newdelhi on 09-11-2015
I went for H1b stamping on 9th nov 2015 and VO intially took interview for 5 minutes and then he went back. After 2 minutes he came and asked me to wait. I had to wait for 40-45 minutes and then I was called to closed room interview window (No. 8).

There 2 ladies were there (Indian & American) and they started taking my interview again. They asked about my education background and then my work experience. This took almost 5-10 minutes. Then after that they started asking about my H1B sponsoring company (its a new employment) and that lasted for 30 minutes.

At the end of the interview they gave me 221(g) white slip mentioning about Project description letter, company's tax return, companies profile and list of employees with salary details.

In my case, it is a new employment and also the employer is small company established in 2013.

I have submitted the documents on 9th Dec to the VFS office and after that there is no update. I have checked the status online and it still shows 'Administrative Processing'. Also the last updated status date is showing as 9th Nov (i.e. my date of interview). Now I don't even know whether the embassy has got my documents from VFS office or not. As no change in the dates even.

Its been more than a month's time and nothing I have. If any suggestions/comments I can get it would be very encouraging and help me a lot.

If anyone is in the same situation please let me know and we can discuss.

I work for top US based company and same company sponsored my H1B. I have been to US previously on L1B from the same company.

Questions asked from me.

1.) When did you come back from US?

2.) When did go to US first time?

3.) Were you on L VISA?

4.) Are you applying for H1B first time?

5.) What will be you designation?

6) What will be your salary?

7) What is your highest qualification?

8) Show me your old passport containing the old VISA.

Questions asked from my wife:

1) When did you get married?

2) How many kids do you have?

3) How many people did attend the marriage?

4) Did you go to US previously alon with you husband?

Then she said - "You VISA is approved. Have a nice day"

I checked the status after couple of hours and it says "Admin Processing". Could anybody please suggest if all the approved VISA undergo admin processing initially.
How long does it take to update the status?

H1B Visa interview
Hello,

Today(Jan. 11, 2016) Interview Happened.

Interview was scheduled at 11:00 AM. Reached on time but their was long queue. All process taken more than 2.20 hours.

VO asked general questions Like

Since how long you are working for this company?
What will you going to do after going to USA?
I am having approved B1 but didn't travel, so VO asked have you traveled on B1.

Then VO put me on hold on same window for around 15 minutes and taken other one lady interview. She got her Visa approved.

Again my turn.

The VO asked me about supporting documents about my duties and roles in US.. I handed over US offer letter and I-129 form. He typed too much on his computer then told your visa is approved and handed over other documents and Rights pamphlet.

I told thanks and left the window..

Here suspense starts.

I got call from US consulate (True caller suggested name)
Is is Mr. ZZZ? (Indian Accent)
Me: (Little worried) Yes please tell...

Call: In which hotel you are staying?
Me: I am not staying in any hotel? I lived in Chennai.

Call: You told to VO you stay in xxx hotel.
Me: No.

Call: He told ok.
Me: (As worried) I asked Can I know what is the matter for hotel?

Call: He told ok ... and something which i didn't listen properly.
And he cut the phone.

I called back that no but it seems we can not call to this no.

Now I am fully confused what is this call all about?

H1B experience
thanks for immihelp, below is my visa experience.

My Visa Experience:
Visa type: H1B, H4.
OFC: 31st Dec 2015, Chennai, appointment time: 8.30.
We went little late to center as I couldn’t find the address, this OFC center is maintained by Indians.
Initially they have checked our appointment and DS160 after that we routed to 1st floor for security check and I have provided with a token. My token number was displayed in counter 17th.
In counter they have asked for my passport, taken both hands fingers and thumb reading and a photo graph, they have returned my passport with a label and stamp on my DS160(Advised to take same DS160 for interview).
This entire process has taken around 45 minutes.
US Consulate visa appointment: 7th Jan 2016, Chennai, appointment time: 9.30.
We reached to the consulate at 9.05am, they have checked our appointment time and allowed to join the queue, crowd was moderate, old age people and families with kids are given preference. They have checked our passports, DS160 and allowed for security check (don’t carry any sealed documents, phones and other restricted stuff) and then we entered into the US consulate compound and joined queue to US Consulate main building, they have sent us inside as groups and we joined queue for finger prints and photo validation and they directed to another counter where they have taken passport and validated something. Finally we entered into final interview queue.
VO: Hi, how are you doing?
Me: Hi, I’m doing good, thanks and you?
VO: I’m fine, thanks.
VO: Are you working for AAA?
Me: Yes, I’m
VO: How long you are working with AAA?
Me: 6 years.
VO: What’s your designation in AAA ?
Me: Snr Analyst.
VO: AAA is your petitioner?
Me: No, BBB.
VO: What is your role in new organization?
Me: Told.
VO: Is this in-house project?
Me: Explained.
VO: Can I see your employee contract?
Me: Passed (he kept aside)
VO: what’s your salary?
Me: Told.
VO: To which location you are going?
Me: Told.
VO: May I ask some questions for your wife?
VO: when did you first met your husband.
My wife told our wedding date.(he didn’t ask anything)

My wife answered.
VO: Your visas are approved and here are rights pamphlets. (Passed pamphlets and employee contract).

We came out of consulate at 10.10am and this process has taken 1 hour 05 minutes.

B2 TO H1B
Hi. Has anyone of you tried going to the US using tourist visa, searched for a job, got one, and then switched to H1B? How hard is it to do that? I don't have a Bachelor's Degree. Just associate, and my experiences are not related to the course I took in. Do I even have a chance to be granted with an H1B? or atleast find a company to sponsor me? Thank you.
