VO typed for sometime, said hello to my kid and then those golden words
 Visa is approved, have a nice time in US

But still status is "Administrative Processing". Hope status will be changed soon.

Anyone in this group who has attended Visa interview in Chennai consulate on 17th Nov and the Status is changed to "Issued"?

I stay in Pune and my Interview is schedule within couple of days. I would like to know, if car parking is easily available near by US Consulate Mumbai BKC location.

Here is my experience.. Please let me know if any body is in same boat...

My interview was on 5 th Nov 2015,
We as a family ( My self, Wife & Kid) had an visa interview for H1 & H4's respectively on 5th Nov 2015 @Hyderabad, after few generic questions ..The VO Said our Visa's are approved that we can leave for the Day.

On very next day 06th Nov 2015, @ 2.30 pm received a mail For My Wife (H4) & My Kid ( H4) that passport are ready to collect,We collected those after 2 days Approved Visa's.

Surprisingly, My Visa (H1) , Status still showing as " Your passport is still with the US Embassy/Consulate "

Still today 18 Nov2015.. in Online it is still showing " Administrative Processing"..

Will there be any case that H4 Approved and H1 is in still AP.

Please advise..

I am going for stamping on 25 nov.My petitioner is not that famous.What kind of questions can i expect?What are the chances of rejection ?I am a testing professional ?Is it a disadvantage?

VO: Explain your role and responsibilities ?
Me: Answered (VO crosschecked the Product I would be working for in the system as it was mentioned in the petition)

VO: Who is your previous employer ?
Me: Answered

VO: Where do you work in USA ?
Me: Answered the State followed by City

VO: What is the salary they offered to you by ABC ?
Me: $$$$$

VO: Do you have the US Rights Pamphlet ?
Me: Yes Sir

VO: Enjoy your stay :) (and kept our passports with him)

PS: No questions asked for my wife!

Hi,

I have attended H1B interview at chennai consulate on Nov-9 2015.
It was very simple and done in 1 min.

But during the interview he asked two Qns which seems to be not normal.

VO : Have you travelled to US before
Me : No (I didn't travel any where outside India)
VO : To Cuba
Me : No

After two days VO called to my mobile and asked the same question, " have you traveled to US before" ?
I said No.
He asked about my old expired passport and I had given him the details.
He said fine, this is for confirmation and kept the phone.

Now its been 5 days in which 2 days are consulate leaves Nov 10 and 11.

The status shows Admin processing still and last modified date is getting updated in CEAS website.

Any insights on this ?

I have attended visa interview in 2008 and there was a query asking for my petitioner financial document (IT returns) and the petitioner never responded and the petition is expired. This year I have applied and now I have visa interview , in DS-160 I have mentioned this reason for visa rejection before. Now I need some info.
1. Will there be any questions regarding that rejection?
2. Should I carry any proofs, becuase I do not have any documents related to that now.
3. What should be the impact now.

kindly give me an insight if you have any such experiences.

Hi All,
I have H1B interview scheduled next week in Chennai US Consulate. Can we take the US citizen kids for H1B interview?. Please advise. in case if anyone had past experience in Chennai. Thanks in Advance.

Special thanks to immihelp, great platform to every H1B aspirants to gain confidence before they hit the interview at US Embassy.

I'd like to share my experience : ---

**Mumbai US Embassy**

Day 1 : Biometric & Fingerprinting

This is pretty easy and straight forward process, passport and DS-160 verified by VAC's officer. Photograph & Fingerprint impressions were collected.

The entire process was completed in 15 mins.

Day 2: Big Day! Interview at Embassy

Advise to reach atleast 30 mins before your scheduled appointment. There was queue outside the embassy. Passport was scanned and moved inside the consulate. Waiting time was 10 mins.

Security check - Please note, DO NOT carry cell phone or electronic devices.

Mandatory documents, Passport, Original I797 and other support documents.

Then after the security check, we were allowed to move in an open corridor. Sat for around 15 mins, there were many Students and tourists for interview. Then we were asked to get inside the main Interview hall.

Passport was scanned and fingerprints were confirmed again by US gentleman. There were around 8 active windows. We can see & hear the VO's asking questions to each individual. Their interactions with most of them were hardly taking 2 or 5 mins.

There were around 10 H1B candidates, I have witnessed everyones visa was approved. VO's was asking questions such as

      - Who is your client?
      - What is your designation and roles/responsibilities?
      - What is your purpose of travel?

MyTurn:

VO: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning

VO: Passport Please
Me: Handed over

VO: Is your first I797?
Me: Yes

VO: Can I see your I797?
Me: Sure, provided Original I797

VO: Did you ever travel outside India?
Me: Yes, Told country name

VO: Why did you travel?
Me: On a short term project, told the month and year of travel, client name and responsibility in one sentence

VO: Whats your highest qualification?
Me: ZZZ

VO: What is your designation?
Me: ZZZ

VO: What is your total relevant experience?
Me: XX years of relevant experience
 
VO typed for few seconds and finally the moment ---- I am approving your visa. She gave me US rights pamphlet.

None of the documents were asked.

All I observed is that, VO’s are very cool and helpful. They are trying their best to approve all the applicants, unless they find the applicant is not able to convince them.

Tips to be remembered:
? Always be prepared and go through each and every documents, I797, I129, LCA, Offer letter, client letter, Vendor Purchase Order/Project confirmation if any
? When you are in queue, relax yourself and concentrate, never deviate your mind
? When you are in the interview, show confidence and have small smile on your face while answering
? Always keep your answers short, crisp and clear
? Concentrate on the VO’s questions and answer only what is asked. Do not give additional information, it might lead to detailed explanation and few more questions by VO
? Dress formal and look neat & sharp

Nov 6th 9:00 AM is the slot, joined the queue outside consulate at 8:30 AM, passport was scanned before entering into the consulate.Asked to sit in waiting area which was moving quickly. Joined the queue where fingerprints were checked, later the coordinator guided to the interview counter.

Before me there was only one guy who was applying for f1 and it was rejected. Below is my experience

first question was inaudible, but in the meantime i asked to repeat, VO repeated the question nearing to the mic.

What does your company?
IT consulting, services and software development.

What do you do in your company? (answered my roles and responsibilities,questions were being asked from your answers, so prepare the valid reasons when you are citing any new technology in your roles.)

Who is your client?
It is an in house project where I will be working on a product

Asked to pass my visa documents, passed over them( LCA, I 129). VO checked them and was checking something on monitor.

How many employees work?

What is your salary?

How did you got this opportunity?

What is your highest qualification?

Have you read the rights pamphlet?

finally VO said visa is approved.

Out of the consulate at 10:00 AM. As far as my experience goes, dress formal, be confident and prepared. Make eye contact when answering.
