H4 dependant interview set up with- H1B expiring in 2 months
Hi,
I have interview set up for my fiance for H4 dependent visa. I have H1B visa stamped, but will be valid only for two months at the time of the H4 dependent visa interview. I should have my H1B extension filled with a receipt in hand during interview. I could have my extension filled in premium processing, but trying to confirm if I really need to.

Has anyone come across cases that where rejected because of H1B not valid for too long or in my scenario.

Thanks for any guidance.

Do we Need A Client Offer To get the H1B Approved
Hello all,
One consultant filed my H1 in Year 2008 and I have attended H1b Interview in Chennai. The only question asked for me is " Give your client letter". Unfortunately i don't have that and when i asked my consultant before the interview, he said, we have clients and you will be placed once you come to US. During his stage, i got 221g and later i submitted client offer but no LUCK.

Again this year(2014), some consultant processing H1 For me. Can anyone suggest me do we need the client offer? Is it mandatory? If i don't have a client offer, does this means my H1 wont get approved?

Any suggestions on this pls..

Regards
Prasad

H1 B 221g white slip
Hi,

Recently(3rd March 2014) I have attended H1 Visa interview in Hyderabad; took all my documents (Passport, I 797, I 129, Client letter with agreement, LCA). After one hour they called me and provided 221g white slip with administrative processing as ticked but there is no case number written or printed. They have returned all my documents including my passport.

My question is: Why they did not provided the case number: is it negative sign ?

Thanks,

Successful 221g in Hyderabad
I went to H1b Visa stamping in Hyderabad and was issued 221g white form. Got visa stamped in a week after submitting documents. Here was my experience,

4th Feb --> Given Finger prints
5th Feb --> Attended Visa Interview, given 221g and requested me to submit EC agreement letter
21st Feb --> Submitted Agreement letter along with Passport in drop box.
27th Feb --> Visa stamping status appeared as "Issued"
28th Feb --> Collected Passport

The only delay from my employer to provide the agreement letter. The process from consulate was completed quickly.

Regards,
Vjai

H1b Stamping
Thanks for all the support to this forum,I went for the interview on 26 Feb at Mumbai, here goes my experience.

25th Feb

OFC is pretty straight forward, just carry the DS-160 conformation page, appointment letter, passport and you will be done in 15-20 min.

Caution : For OFC you may want to reach not more than half hour earlier as they only allow entry 15 min prior to appointment.

26th Feb : I have my interview at Mumbai early morning 7:30,here goes my conversation

Vo : Good Morning
Me : Good morning officer
Vo :Who is your petitioner
Me : Answered
Vo :What will be you designation
Me : Answered
Vo :Is this a new Job
Me : Answered
Vo :Are you married
Me : Answered
Vo :Are you engaged
Me : Answered
Vo :What will be you salary
Me : Answered
Vo :Have you read this while pamphlet
Me : Answered

Finally the Golden words...."I am approving your visa". My suggestion is just be confident while answering the questions, answer honestly and try to be precise with your answers.

Thanks a lot to this forum & its contributors who helped me a lot in my preparation

H1B experience in Delhi on 3rd March 2014
Had interview in Delhi at 8:00 AM. Was visiting for stamping of H1B first time since 2008 when I entered US as F1. Never went till today due to several complications. So my status was stamping H1B first time. Few things to note as I did the mistake. Do not carry a bag. I carried and they did not have a facility to store my bag. Anyways the appointment was at 8:00 am. A weird thing I noted was all H1B applicants were asked to provide the original I-797 and DS-160 containing the seal from fingerprint which was stapled to the passport. Well my no. was called and the officer asked me a couple of questions:

VO: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning Sir.
VO: What company do you work for?
Me: Answered accordingly
VO: What do you do.
Me:Answered
VO: Where are you based?
Me: Answered.
VO: Looked at my passport stamp asked me a couple of questions on visa status. He looked at my old F1. He was confused that I was on F1 or EAD etc.
Me: I told him I am not on F1, OPT etc but on H1B
VO Show me your H1B
Me:showed
VO:show me I-129
Me: Showed completed packet
VO:Show your paychecks
Me: Showed all paychecks of a year to be on safeside
VO: Are you a consultant?
ME:No I am a direct hire employee working for my company (ofcourse a very reputed worldwide company)
VO: At the end took my passport stapled with DS-160 and original I-797.

I thought I did well. Later I realized Visa Officer took my original I-797. I was so tensed called up the Embassy in New Delhi and spoke to help line. They told me that original documents taken will be returned back. I asked her when passport was taken along with DS-160 and original I-797 what it meant? I was told that please find the status of your application online or you will be sent a message on phone or by email that you mentioned while preparing the application.

Folks, please help me what about I-797 original document being taken by officer? Why did he take the I-797? I am worried now. If they lose it, I will be screwed pretty badly. Can you please help me guys if you have had similar experience.
