I have seen that DS 260 for has to be submitted before going for interview from Dec 23 2013.. Did any one have idea on filling this and what details are they expecting in it..

H1B Visa interview experience @ Mumbai consulate
I went for bio metrics on 13th Feb @ 9.00 AM, the person at OFC verified my DS-160 confirmation page and told that my name in the confirmation page and the passport is not the same (one extra space) , asked me to correct the form and bring the fresh one.
There is a computer center beside the OFC and they have corrected the details in the form and charged Rs.200/- , then again i went to OFC and completed the formalities in just 15 mins.
Next day 14th Feb visa interview @ 7.45 AM, i have reached there by 6.15 and waited for around 45 Mins then they allowed inside. Completed all the formalities in another 30 to 40 mins then i was called for interview. Below is the conversation...
Me: Good Morning
VO: Good Morning
VO: Howlong you are working for this company (new company)
Me: answered accordingly
VO: Working for any client?
Me: Answered
VO: What is the employer location in USA?
Me: answered
VO: What is the salary?
Me: answered
VO: planning to take your family?
Me: answered
VO: where are you from in India?
Me: answered
then finally VO said your visa is approved and you will receive in another 3 days, he returned my I797B form.
Be cool and confident you will get the visa.

hi all,
I had my interview on Feb 4th 2014 at end of my interview she said we will let you know your visa status by end of this week. Up till now there is no response from them but i checked through website and telephonic it says Your Passport is still with Post.Can any one help me what it means exactly ?

H1B Visa experience - Mumbai
Hey All,
Just thought of sharing my experience at OFC and US Consultate in Mumbai. Please note that, I work full time and there is no client involved.
Biometric on Feb 13th at 12:00 pm
It was pretty straight forward. Document that I carried:
1. DS 160 page
2. Appointment confirmation page
3. Valid passport
It took 10 mins to get my biometric done.
Feb 14th at US Consulate @ 7:45 AM
Reached consulate at 6:45AM since I had checked with the security guard on Feb 13th on what time they usually let people in. At 7:05 AM security guards started checking passport and appointment letter and started allowing people to go inside US Consulate.
After I went in, it took almost 20-25 min to go inside the actual building. Took additional 10-15 mins before I was called for the interview. This is how it went:
VO: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning, How are you doing?
VO: Doing well. Thanks for asking.
VO: Please pass you I797 and passport.
VO: So how long have you been working for company ZZZ
Me: X years and Y month. I joined this company in (stated month and year)
VO: Are you working for any client?
Me: No
VO: What's your salary
Me: YYYY
VO: Have you been to US before?
Me: Yes
VO: For the same company?
Me: No, I went for my masters
VO: What school did you go to?
Me: University of ABC
VO: And what did you study there?
Me: Masters in YYYY
VO: Wonderful. Have you read the white pamphlet (pointing to the one which VO had on the window)
Me: Not yet.
VO: Your visa is approved. Please read the white pamphlet. Good luck
Me: Thanks.
It hardly took a min to get the approval. Only document which VO asked was I797 and passport.

Received 221g white slip at Mumbai consulate
Dear Friends,
Went for interview on Feb 5th at BKC. I answered all the question to VO. At last VO gave one white 221g slip. Their VO ticked on 6 documents which are required to be shared by my Employer.
I shared that document to my employer and they shared all the required documents to Mumbai Consulate mail id and employer got a auto generated mail confirmation that Consulate received those document.
Now, what is the next step? Are we required to wait till we got some confirmation from Consulate people or we can got to consulate in the mentioned timing ( 10:30 to 11:30 ) . In the document its mentioned that now I'm not required to take appointment again.
Kindly, suggest what could be the next.

Biometrics-
Appointment was Scheduled at 1:30 PM at BKC (Trade Center). Need to be available 15 min prior to your appointment time. No need to come early and get exhausted, Dress code would be Formal Shirt for Guys, Here they will take Photo and finger prints. The process will be completed in 15min. No need to bring any Photo along with you. They will stick a Barcode on your passport which will be checked at your appointment office.
Visa Appointment -
My appointment was scheduled at 9:00 Am. I was available at the location at 8:00 AM. There is a long queue and it took 20min to go inside. While entering inside they will check your Passport and Visa appointment copy. Finally i made into the office and it was my turn, i have taken a deep breath and stood in front of the officer. The interview started.............
VO: Good Morning
ME: Good Morning Sir, How are you?
VO: Which Place are travelling to?
VO: Answered
VO: How many years of experience you have?
ME: Answered
VO: Are you Married?
ME: Yes
VO: Where is you wife currently?
ME: India

ME: Yes Sir, I have been there for 3 months
VO: Which place are you going to in US?
ME: Answered
VO: Have you done your Bachelors or Masters?
ME: Bachelors
VO: Finally with a Smile he informed me :"VISA is APPROVED", Have a safe journey.

H4 visa interview experience Mumbai Jan 2014 (221g White Slip)

My husband got his H1b visa visa approved on 26th December 2013 from Chennai US consulate and H1B visa stamped passport after two days.
We started processing H4 visa process for me n my 5 months old daughter (DS160 and payment of Fees). Got OFC done for me and my daughter on 17th Jan 2014.
We had visa interview appointment on 21 Jan 2014 7.45 am (first slot for that day) and i was first one to give interview for visa.
VO: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning
VO: May i have your Passport
I gave my n my daughter's passport to VO
VO: Do you have your husband's visa with you?
Me: Yes (i gave him my husband's paasport also)
VO: Where is your husband working currently?
Me: ABC company (Indian Company)
VO: Where he will be working in USA?
Me: XYZ Company (Company In USA)
VO: Why is he leaving company like ABC and going for small company XYZ?
Me: He wanted global career exposure
Then VO started nodded his head
VO: Why you did not appeared for visa interview with your husband?
Me: We had applied for my daughter's passport and i wanted to apply for visa with my daughter
VO: Where is your daughter?
Me: She is outside with my husband. My Daughter is 5 months old.

VO: Why you husband went for his visa interview in chennai and you in mumbai?
Me: There was no interview slots available in Mumbai during that time and his employer wanted him to go for visa interview in that week only.

VO: Where you husband will be working in USA?
Me: AM, MMMM
Then he again started typing in his computer and after 5 min one white paper to me and said
VO: Sorry i will have to take your passport for some admin processing
Me: You will keep my husband's passport also
VO: Yes i have to take his passport for enquiry
Me: When will i get all three passport?
VO: It will not take more that one week. You will get notification regarding your passport through Email or SMS.
Me: Ok
Then i left from there. I was very tensed because VO took my husbands passport also and i did not wanted my husbands visa get affect because of my interview.
After two days i got mail on my phone that my and my daughters passport is ready for pickup and even my husband got same message.
Next Day we went BKC, Mumbai US Trade center and got all three passport with VISA STAMP.
Missed those golden words "YOUR VISA IS APPROVED" but still ALL WELL THAT ENDS WELL
