221G HYD Consulate FT
I had my visa interview on November 14 for 8.30 AM slot. Biometrics was on November 9th at Hyderabad OFC.

Visa officer was an Indian in mid 30's.

Me: How are you doing today?
VO: Pretty good
VO: Please hand me over your passport
Me: Gave him my passport (passport was attached with I797 and appointment confirmation letter)
VO: Why are you going to US?
Me: I have a job in US
VO: Which Company?
Me: xxxxxxx
VO: are you working on in the same field on which you have a degree?
Me: Yes
VO: Which school did you graduate?
Me: xxxxxx
Me: showed him my degree
VO: How much is your salary?
Me xxxxxxx
VO: Can I see you paystubs?
Me: Gave him my paystubs.
VO: Before I make a decision i need to do some administrative processing. He wrote a case number on a white 221g form and said to track status after 2-3 weeks.
Me: I have few additional documents to support my case
VO: I don't need any documents, except a questionaire which I will e-mail you.

He kept my passport and I797 and handed over the white 221G form with a case number on it.

Still no update on the case tracking website.

Anyone else in similar situation, please keep posted. I will do the same.

H1-B restamping in Chennai, India
Greetings,

I just finished my Visa interview at Chennai, India (H1-B second term stamping & H4 for my wife) and it was a rather straightfwd. process.

OFC: Rather straightfwd., they asked us for our Appointment copy (with barcode), DS-160 print-out and Passport/ Keep the HDFC pyt receipt as well.

Visa interview: The process was straightforward as well. They asked me for I-129 (both first and second term) along with DS-160 copy and Appointment receipt. The questions from the VO was simple and the whole q&a session lasted a good minute at the most.

1. Who do you work for
2. What is your designation
3. (to my wife) How long have you been married
4. (to my wife) What is your education
5. (to my wife) Do you have any kids.

.. and it was done.

Good luck!

Then VO said we need some time to verify all these details and i am issuing 221G to you. He kept my passport and all documents i submitted then
He written case number on it and no other documents he asked. He cheked the option your application requires additional administrative processing before a final decision can be made.

He asked me to check my case with that number after some days. I asked how many days it may take ... he has not assured me the exact time line.

I know i had very hard time with VO but they kept my passport with them. Please suggest what might be the result. I am very disappointed about my case.

Wish you all the best of all who attending H1B stamping.

Another guy who had similar client attended in Chennai, his visa got approved.

Visa Interview
I had my visa approved on November 16th . Many people scare the heck out of you. I believe its always there to be issued, you just have to answer just to the point. Of course your petition LCA and client letter must match

2 people in front of me got their Visa approved

Note: The guy in front of me did not have a client letter, he had a black and white copy of vendor letter where all his information was mentioned ( VO did ask client letter and he told all he had was that and she was fine by that)

Me: GM mam how are you doing ?
VO: Doing good , how about you?
Me: Good Thanks
VO: What is the purpose for the Visa
Me: For my Work
VO: Where do you work
Me: YYYY X
VO: Can i see your I-797
Me: Passed on
VO: Who is your Client and Vendor
Me: Told
VO: Can you pass those documents (i had a bunch of documents arranged and she saw it I 129, LCA, client letter , vendor letter, of course she did not know what all was there but she knew it was all imp documents)
Me: Passed ( She did not even bother to see anything - i think she saw the letter head of my client and just passed it back, not even sure if she saw that)
VO: Did anything change since your petition was approved
Me:No
VO: Your Visa is approved
Me: Thanks

Bottom line is ( Visa is always there to be granted, if all the documents are fine from your employer side it should be a cake walk), Dont sound desperate , answer to the point ( it might sound rude from an indian point of view, where we talk emotionally, but thats how americans like the answers i.e straight and to the point- been there for 5 years ;) )

Cheers - I just posted it for future candidates who are nervous about it , chill and dont listen to fellow indians who are always there to scare you ;) , just listen to your heart :)

Note: I was working with a different employer till sep end 2012. My H1 company started on Oct 1st 2012 and i had only 2 pay stubs from my H1 company. ( People scared me telling you need to have minimum 3 months pay stubs etc , that really does not count.

I have been working for same client since November 2010

H1B and H4 Visa approval
I would like to thank Immi help!!
we had interview on 15th November and OFC on 14th Nov.
OFC process took arround 30 mins..make sure you should reach atleast 30 minutes before the scheduled time....
On 15th Novemeber 11.30 a.m we had interview....there is no point taking phone,or any bag or CD and all otherwise you need to deposit @ some good amount to a near by counter.....

Questions were asked

Name of Comapny?
Highest qualification
Place you are going?
and US salary?

To my wife she asked how long is she married?

Thats it ....VO was cool ....so it was our good luck.....

Than the Golden word......Visa approved.....
One thing what I understood...H1B visa's are easy to get.....and you just need to be confident on your answers....and make sure you know the details about your travel ....so that you dont fumble while talking to VO.......all the best to all of you......dont worry you will get through untill unless there is really big error in your documents.....

221g issued for H1B renewal
Hello,

Here is my unfortunate story.

Went for my H1B Renewal stamping in Hyderabad last month. Lived in US for 13+ yrs and haven't got my GC yet. Came for vacation last month for 3 weeks and thought will get my VISA stamped since I'm here. But this is the biggest mistake I did.

VO was an Indian guy may be in late 30's. He first asked all basic questions, and then asked weird questions about my empoyer. His intensions was pretty clear, he somehow didn't want to give VISA. At the end he said, he is sending my case to USCIS in USA for further inverstigation, and told it's gonna take a while to hear back from them.

I'm really worried now. Stuck here waiting to see what they say. Can't believe, after living so many years and having like 5 extensions, they are not giving the VISA. Funny thing is, my last stamping was done in 2009 here in Hyderabad. Can someone share their similar experience if there is one? Not sure how long it's gonna take

Thanks,
