H1B Extension @ Metamoros
Hi Folks,

I have been delayed and stuck up here in Metamoros, Mexico from Aug 9th. Please help me in this regard.

Old H1B expiration Date: March 20 2010
Old I-94 Expiration Date: March 28th 2010
H1B extension filled(Company A): March 1st 2010
Received RFE(Company A): April 20th
Replied RFE on time: May 20th
Filled New H1B transfer premium fulltime(Comp B): May 28th
USCIS Recived Recipt(H1 transfer COMP B): June 1
Denied H1B after RFE(Comp A) :June 2 2010(Due to Empolyee-Employer relationship)
RFE regarding validity of Status(Comp B) :June 15
Replied RFE on time(Comp B) : June 30
Comp B H1B approved for consular process@Metamoros Mexico : July 23rd 2010
Interview @ Metamoros : Aug 9th 2010

Result: The visa officer says she cannot approve my visa and she needs to validate the Comp B for its legitamacy. So i am stuck up in mexico for last 7 days and am waiting for the final result.

Why the hell do they want to put us in trouble?
Can anybody tell what are my alternatives?
Was i at anypoint in time ´out of status´?
Was there any possiblily to go to work on H1B recepit with company B right after June 1st 2010 while my I-94 was expired?

This might be a bit confusing, please let me know if i need to be more clear.

Your help be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

H1B @ HYD
Dear all,

From my experience, i would want to say ... H1 B is not tough .. all that one needs is a smiley and confident face during the interview .. and its done. Be comfort and carry yourself straight and its done !!

I have attended my interview at hyd for H1 B on Aug13th and unfortunately i got 221G Blue , AR review... two people infront of me were approved ... i myself felt , i was bit dull during the interview , am regretting a lott now ...

Kind of questions they asked me were :

who is your employer?
who is your client ?
can i see your LCA and client letter ?
how much is your salary ?
is this an inhouse project ?
project details document ?
what is your role ?
can you explain about the project you are doing?
how many employees in your company?

All the Best !!!

H1B @ Hyd - 221g Yellow slip - Visa stamped
Hi,
I had visa appt in July first week.It was like wrong person at wrong time, not a single question was asked instead i was given yellow slip.

Later i submitted the documents after a week. Immeditely after 3 days i got a call from consulate asking to submit my passport. I then submitted my passport and in 2 weeks they returned my passport with VISA stamped.

My port of Entry was Chicago. they didnt ask me any questions other than "whats your job"

So guyz, dont get worried if your case is under 221g.

ALL THE BEST

H1 extension experience - Approved
I had my visa extension stamping at hyderabad on july 30. After initial formalities..I was in the line for my interview. One indian guy sitting at the window and american lady assisting him..I think she is training him...
These are the questions they asked...
1. highest degree
2. which company and what I will do
3. client name
4. where i will get down(they are looking for the same thing as we enter in DS 160)
5. recent paystubs
6. I129 and LCA

After that, they discussed something which I can't hear...then asked me to sit for a while for furthur questions....they kept all the docs along with passport and I797 with them..so am little relieved..

After 15-20 mins of waiting they ca\lled me again in a separate room where they can interview only 1 person..its a closed room...then one indian lady came with paper and pen along with my documents which they took initially...she asked number of questions like:-

1. what is my job...
2. client name
3. what is my role and my responsibilities...
4. who referred my company and what is his name..(She is actually observing my reaction time and watching my face expressions...)
5. who sponsered my H1 and whether I paid it or company....
6. why premium processing..who paid the amount...
(I just told company paid it)
7. client letter (I don't have one so told that client is getting annoyed and fired couple of ppl as well...so I am afraid asking them and I dont have)
8. After that ..somehow topic diverted abt my fee for h1 premium processiong....
9. she asked abt my responsibilities in the job on a paper either from my company or client....I just gave my resume as i cant find the documnet at that time

she went inside....and after 3-5 mins....one more new VO who is a lady came with something like visiting card. I looked at it and it has something like "fraud verification ** " ..she told that she is doubtful abt my company and i need to do something.....at that point...I just showed all the paid bills which my employer paid...she somehow got happy with it and justified that my case is right....I am just looking puzzled at whats happening and did not talk anything....she told that I have no problem and entered something in the system and told that my visa got approved and kept my passport and I797 with her....
Actually my health is not at all good and they got suspicious in my case...I somehow managed to tell something all the time...

They did not ask my W2 forms nor my clinet letter intitially..they asked client letter during second round....

To my observation...thjis is what happening at hyderabad for H1
...New stamping...paystubs ----SURE
  highest degree
  LCA and I129
where do u work and what are the responsibilities

H1 extension----all the above with W2 (though they did not ask me)

H1B Visa
Hi,
I hav gone for my h1b stamping for the first time in Jul first week, I was given Blue form-221g. Questions asked were:

1) Which company are you presently working for?
2) And for which company will you be working for?
3) What is your role?
4) What is your highest qualification?
5) Since I was going for phramaceutical company she asked me How do you relate yourself to a phramaceutical company?

She dint ask me even a single doc n told me your application requires further administrative processing and gav me blue form and asked me to go to counter XX. There was a lady in tht counter n she given some form n asked me to fill the form n submit it with my resume.

I filled the form n submitted. She took my passport n gav me a receipt which included the case number n told me to chk the status after a week.

Finally after 20 days I got my passport in courier with visa stamped.

Dont wry for those who got Blue form,if ur going for company which is legal then after getting clearence frm tht company they are issuing the passport.

Thanks..

Visa issuance fee
I am planning to appear for H1 B visa(Science/Postdoctoral Research) interview at Hyderabad on 9th August 2010.After printing the guidance sheet, I saw para about Issuance fee. Do I need to pay that.I already paid Rs 7200/- and Rs 374/- at HDFC bank on July 7 th 2010.Did anyone finish their interview very recently or did anyone come across this kind of situation???
Do you have any idea where to pay or how much I have to pay.According to me, we (indians)are exempted from this Visa issuance fee.

Please answer to these questions at the earliest.

Thank you

H1B stamping in Chennai (1st renewal)
I had visa interview on Jun 21 in Chennai.

I work for a Consulting company and am currently working for a Client.

I have carried necessary documentation to show that my employer has the right to hire/terminate and has control of Salary and benefits.

I actually forgot my Appointment letter. Had only Confirmation letter. They have asked for it several times but still let me in.

Do not forget these important documents as it will be unnecessary stress in the last minute.

The questions I was asked:

Which company do you work for?
What do you do?
How long have you been working for this company?
How much is your Salary?
Can I see your recent pay stubs?

I was granted Visa after this.

I collected Passport from VFS office next day between 4-5pm with Visa in it.

I entered into US 2nd week of July. There weren't issues at Port of Entry.

Hope this information helps for people on the same boat. I had a lot of worries before leaving. It was a very pleasant experience though!!
