after my L1 b was given 221g (pending) i was asked by consulate to apply by h1 b / L1 (individual).
I had my h1 b interview today and it went sucessfully.
Questions:
tell me abt your project?

this is ramesh , my H1B petition is selected in 2008 lottery, still iam not going for visa stamping.
i have questions
1.If visa officer is asking "why u r coming late for visa stamping". what is answer for this ?
2. Consulant said they are not providing Client letter, any alternate for this ?
3. what is validity of H1B petition papers?

I always want to write this, finally this is my turn to share my experience.
i had attented the interview on 25th jan 2010 at chennai.
My interview was scheduled at 10.15 Am and i was there by 9.30 Am.
After all routine procedure,finally my turn for interview came.I was in the queue.
when my turn came
here goes my conversation
Me:Good Morning Officer
Vo:Good Morning,Please give your DSforms
Me:I gave the Documents
Vo:Are you work in XYZ Company(Current company)
Me:Yes
Vo:XYZ Company,US?
Me:XYZ Company India.
Vo:How long are you working for XYZ Company?
Me:I am working from past 4 years.
Vo:Is XYZ is BEP Company?
Me:No,Its Non-BEP Company.
Vo:Put you left thumb fingerprint plz
Me:I put the Left thumb impression.
Vo:Where do you go to work in US?
Me:ABC Company,US
Vo:What is your responsibility?
Me:explained with short and simple words.
Vo:what is your maximum degree?
Me:Master of Computer Application.
Vo:your visa has approved.But your petition information is not updated in PIMS database, after verifying we will send your stamped Passport to you.
(she retained my passport, but she gave me form 221(g) telling petition information is not updated in PIMS database.)
Me:Ok,Thankyou officer, Have a nice day.
but she retained the passport and said Visa is approved.
I was scared when she giving form 221(g) he marked(Your petition is not currently in the PIMS database.Processing of your case will be suspened until we can verify your petition details.) in that form
after 2 days i check in VFS site in Passport tracking link.it shows
(Your passport can be collected in person at US visa application centre in Chennai between 1600-1700 hours.
Kindly produce your HDFC fee receipt and interview appointment letter at the time of collecting your passport.
If your passport is not collected by 1700 hrs, it will be automatically dispatched to you by courier.)

Successfull H1 and H4 at delhi 21 Jan
Hello Today i have attended H1b and H4(my wife) Interview in delhi consulate on 21st Jan and was very smooth
interview time 10:45 we reached consulate@ 10:20 and were allowed in.
After security check we have been given a token number and asked to wait in waiting hall.
There were approx 100-150 people already waiting in there. My wife had a b1 visa interview in october and she said at that time there were hardly 10-15 people waiting, so I guess economy is picking and again there is a visa rush after slowdown.
Any how most were for F1 visa.
after waiting for about 1 hour our number came and we went to the pre-screening area there a lady at counter 5 verified my document and asked to go for finger scanning in five minute it was done and immediately our token displayed for the interview at no. 17 counter (though there were more than 100 people waiting in that hall as well)
MY INTERVIEW:
ME: Good morning xxx how you doing today
--No response her mood was bad as she had rejected on in front of me
VO: Give me your document
--Passed me and my wife passport with DS156, 157 and mine I-797
VO : Which company you are currently working
ME : ABC
VO : Which company you are going for
ME : DEF (this is diff company a fortune 100 retail company)
-- After hearing the company name suddenly she became very friendly and her mood changed to very positivie
VO: How much will be your salary
ME: xxx/annum
VO to my wife : how long you have been married
MY WIFE : x years
VO : Your visa is approved and you will receive it in 5 business day
ME :Thank you etc etc etc and came out
Though I prepared my self for all kind of question before the interview.
What I feel is if you are going for some big American company as a direct employee then they just don't ask many question as they, only if in case of consultancy they want to make sure that there is a genuine job for the guy in U.S
Any case all the best to all

need help about unemployment wages report
My interview was cool but vo gave me a form of 221g . he said you will send these documents .My employer sent me each and every thing but state un employment report is not acceptable to the embassy so my question is that If any one have any document of state unemployment wages report please send me as soon as posible. If any one has the same matter email me and discuss me on my email [email protected].

clarification need on project in H1B document list
Hi all,
My LCA contains the deatils about the in-house project iam going to work, which is different from the project(i.e, at client) mentioned in invitaion letter
Can anybody clarify me is it create any problem during my visa interview and how do i convience visa officer regarding this
Iam planning to go for visa invterview next week ...any suggestions before that time would be great help.
