Change of work location in LCA
Hi everyone,

I need some help on this issue...

I attended my interview in Chennai consulate today (23/10/2009):

The vo started with the question:
Vo: How are you?
Me: Good! Thanks
Vo: What you will do for YYYY ?
Me: Explained about the in house project which I’m going to work for (which was provided by employer).
Vo: What is your highest degree?
Me: Masters in CS
Vo: Where you will work in the US?
me: New Jersey (which is wrong, actually my employer is in NewYork, but my stay address was mentioned as New Jersey in my application form)
Vo: Verified the LCA for work location. And asked it is mentioned as New York?
Vo: Are you sure about your work location?
Me: Yes Sir.
Vo: Typed something in the system.
Vo: Gave me blue form 221(g) and asked me to get an LCA for the New Jersey site.

I was really confused about the work location; I thought I will be searching a job in New Jersey. It was my mistake.

I told about this to my employer, they said it is not possible to get a new LCA for New Jersey. They said we can explain like, I will be working in my employers office in New York and staying in employers guest house in New Jersey. And submit the lease document, and in house project details as a proof with other mandatory documents including the old LCA which contains New York.

Will they accept this kind of explanation?
Do I need to keep any other additional documents?
How much is the chance of getting approved?

Please help me….

Thanks,
Joseph

visa denial doubt
Hi!!
I have a doubt, i hope someone will be able to answer it.
My friend was rejected a F-1 visa twice, three years ago. That is in 2006. Fortunately his passport expired. So he has got a new passport now. He will be going for f-1 visa pretty soon. Is it advisable for him to say that he was never denied visa in the ds forms? will they ask him for the old passport for verification?

I went to Hyderabad Consulate in September 09 for F1 to H1 stamping. I was there 15 mins before my appointment, I suggest not to go to early as you will not be allowed inside. After checking my passpot and appointment letter at the gate I was sent in. At the door we were given a tray to keep cell phone, bracelets etc. CD's etc are not allowed inside. After security check, the next line was at the counter were all the documents were checked. Next I took the token and got seated at the waiting place. After about an hour it was my turn for the interview.
Q's asked - which company u work for, which client, Client location, what client does and my role in the project. That's it. No documents were asked. FYI- My friend was asked for pay slips.
Best of luck.
