Hi,
I have my H1B interview, i would be taking my 3 months old baby (H4) with me to chennai consulate.
Can any one please your experience and interview questions , since iam taking my 3 months baby as my dependent whats the possibility of getting stamped. My hubby just now got his H1B stamped. We both applied through same consultant from India.
Already i hv travelled to US on L2 visa and have US experience for 5 months.
Please share your experience and advice.

1) Good Morning sir, which company you are going to work in USA..?
a) YYYY Inc
2) What is your role in YYYY Inc..?
a) Programmer Analyst
3) what you do for YYYY inc..?
a) I am a YYYY programmer and i will be doing coding, testing etc.
4) What are all the companies you worked for till now..?
a) xxxx,yyyy and ZZZZ.
5) What is your highest qualification..?
a) Bachelor of Engg.
6) In which subject..?
a) YYYY X.
thats all about the interview questions, the interview duration was hardly around 3 mins.and there were no documents asked to show.

I went to Hyderabad Consulate in September 09 for F1 to H1 stamping. I was there 15 mins before my appointment, I suggest not to go to early as you will not be allowed inside. After checking my passpot and appointment letter at the gate I was sent in. At the door we were given a tray to keep cell phone, bracelets etc. CD's etc are not allowed inside. After security check, the next line was at the counter were all the documents were checked. Next I took the token and got seated at the waiting place. After about an hour it was my turn for the interview.
Q's asked - which company u work for, which client, Client location, what client does and my role in the project. That's it. No documents were asked. FYI- My friend was asked for pay slips.

Attended H1B Visa Interview on 6th Oct 09
Hi,
I attended H1b visa interview on 6th Oct 09 at 9.30 am.
VO: How many years in YYYY company.
VO: Who is your client
VO: Which place your traveling to
VO: Which stream you have completed your engineering in?
Then golden words came from him saying your visa is issued and you will receive your passport in a week.
Be confident, prepare well before attending well, read all the documents you have and answer the same what ever is in the the documents you submitted. All the best.

H1B Visa - 221-g Administrative Processing
Hi
I attended h1b visa interview in chennai consulate this week.
they gave 221-g blue form to me saying that ur case requires additional administrative processing and the interviewed consulate officer said that we will get back to u in another 2 days.
Have anybody gone through this type of situation in their visa stamping.
How much time it will take to compete this process?
Does anybody have idea regarding this type of response from the us consulate?

Successful stamping at Chennai consulate
I went to the Chennai consulate early this week to get stamped. It was for my visa renewal, as i got a H1-B extension.
VO: (Goes through my old visas). How long are you working in this company.
Me: 3 yrs.
VO: Can i see your payslip and last year W2?
Me: Sure.
VO: (Checks the payslip) What is your salary?
Me: Base salary is xxxx + bonus
VO: Ok, that's good. your visa is granted and you'll get it in a week.
I got the passport stamped within 3 days.
VO: (Goes through my old visas). How long are you working in this company.
Me: 3 yrs.

221g clause for H1-B visa
Hi Guys,
I have attended the visa interview today at Hyderabad consulate for H1-B visa. I got the 221g clause. The visa officer said that my petition is not reflected in the PIMS database. (Petitioner Information Management System). He said it will take 2 days time for them to verify the petition details. Did anyone face the similar experience and will my case be resolved in 2 days or will it take longer?
Questions Asked at Interview:
1) Why are you going to US?
2) Whom are you working for?
3) What is your annual income?
4) Since when are you working for this so and so company?
5) Show me your paystubs
6) What universities did you attend in US?
Just to give little background about me. I am on F1 trying to convert to H1 and I am currently working in US and I had all legitimate documents and my I-797 says my petition for H1 is approved but I still wonder why does it not reflect in PIMS database. My advice to everyone before going for the interview is check with your employer and attorney about whether your case shows the approved status in PIMS and you can also check your status on www.uscis.gov by typing in your receipt number. Make sure it shows the status as approved to avoid any further delays.

Can I go for B1 if I already have H1
Hi,
I have got H1B Visa this year April, but as the market is not good, I wanted to go there next year.
My current company in India, is asking me to go to US on B1(Yet to be applied for B1).
If I go for B1 interview, will there be any problem?

Sucessful visa renewal interview at Mumbai Consulate
Hi,
I had visa interview at Mumbai consulate and my visa interview at 12:30 PM on 24/09/2009. But interview completed by 4 PM.
I reached VFS Mumbai office at 9:50 AM and I waited till 2 PM for interview call. I had little
difficult interview but it was successful.
VO called the 5 numbers at the same time but it was not clear. I thought he called my number and went to the counter. I waited outside for his call and he called me inside.
Me: Good after noon?
VO: Good after noon. If you wait outside it does n't mean I will accept your visa(With smiling).
Me: Of course Sir.
VO: OK R U working for YYYY XX??
Me: No that was my previous company.
VO: So why did you change change your job?
Me: I explained the reason
VO: From how long you have been with current company?
Me: YYYY YYYY
VO: What about your project?
Me: This is my YYYY company working as a contractor with YYYY X.
VO: Do you have any letter from client?
Me: Yes and shown the letter
VO: He verified online something
VO: Your are under what part of YYYY XX?
Me: I said YYYY YYYY
VO: Can you show me some latest pay stubs?
Me: I shown last six months pay stubs
VO: He entered something on the PC and he said please receive your passport by mail.
Me: Thank you
But I had seen in the same day some people got 221gs and lot of questions. And they were verifying everything.
