I have been on H1B for a company since 2007 and my visa is expired this year and i didnt go for visa renewal so what next right now iam in india
but anyway i dont wanna go back as the market is very bad in usa any problems in the future if my new company applies for business visa in india as there is an onsite proposal in next six months

Visa Interview
Hi
My H1B petition was picked up last year for the 2008-09 tenure.
I didn't go for the visa interview then as the US market was bad.
Now as the job market seems to be improved atleast for Java and .Net.
I have scheduled my interview on November 5th at Hyd consulate.
My US employer has provided all the docs to me except client letter/Internal Project.
He has told to answer that there are several openings on Java with the clients of my US
employer and as the clients need an inperson interview so I do not have a letter now.
Can you please tell me how far this is going to work ?
Please provide your suggestions.

This website has helped me alot in terms of various issues. So, I am sharing my experience on visa on 26th October at Mumbai consulate.
My case was F1-OPT-H1. I already have a job with a very good company in US. I had pasted a photo taken frm CVS on DS156 and at US consulate they didnt accept that pic. Asked for a new one. I took the new one from the studio in front of the consulate and provided to them.
VO: Hello Sir.
Me: Hello
VO: So you are working for YYYY
Me: Yes
VO: You look like a business guy (I was in a suit). Where you took your suit from? From India or US ?
Me: US
VO: is it the change in status case??
Me: Yes
VO: Tell me briefly what will you be doing there?
Me: Explained
VO: Where is the company located?
Me: Answered
VO: Which univ I did my masters from and what was the degree?
Me: Answered
VO: Is ur job related to ur degree?
Me: Explained
VO: Earlier in my life I had lost my passport which was mentioned in DS157. He got confused that I lost some US visa also in that.
Me: I explained him the passport lost long back was blank and had no visas frm any country.
VO: He asked me for the legal formalities I did for the lost passport.
Me: I gave copy of police report and copies of the lost passport.
VO: Asked for my pay
Me: Answered
VO: Asked if I am married?
Me: Answered
He didnt ask for any docs from me.
If your papers are good, everything will be good. Good luck..

I went for H1b visa stamping on 28th Oct,2009 at Hyd. The VO given me the 22(g) . In that form she ticked on 1) Acopy of the petion with all supporting docs

and in the form "Please submit copies of or original documents as indicated aboce along with new DS-156" . All documents may be submitted to VFS to be forwarded to the Consulate Feneral.

Validity of the visa
In 2007 i had attended the interview for H1B in chennai consulate and after that my visa was suspended and they have returned all the documents to the USCIS for the further review. But by the grace of god, i got a letter from the chennai consulate in last week to submit the passport as of my case was cleared.
I have one doubt, if i got visa in this month then what would be the validity it will be finish in 2010 or it will go till 2013.

US market situation
I got H1 visa in last year. I went to US in January. I searched for project upto April but i didn't get any project. So my employer is said that go to india and come after market is imporve. So i comeback and got job is MNC company. My to work in US is my dream. So iam planning to goto USA in future months. So please advise me about is it right time to goto USA and how is the US market.

My attorney's employer filed a H1B in the wrong state
Hey there
I got the H1B approval earlier this year but the problem is that I work from home in California but the company's attorney did the petition process with New York as my state of residence an I will be going back home soon and I have to do the interview at the consulate in order to re-enter the country.
What should I do, do I have to move to new York, what do I have to say the consular officer.
I am so pissed, he just told me over the phoone and seemed to not know what he was doing.
