Got Visa after 221(g) Yellow
Hi,
I say thanks to all readers of immihelp.com
I attended the interview at Mumbai consulate on 13-Nov-2008.VO asked just few formal questions and issued me 221(g) Yellow form, and said AAP is required once it is done we will contact you.
On 30-Jan-2009 i got a mail from consulate to submit my passport i submitted the passport on 06-Feb-2009.
I got my passport with stamped on 10-Feb-2009.
So friends be patient who ever got 221(g).

Name and DOB got misprinted on my i-797 .
Hi All,
i got my H1b papers last month form my employeer, i planned to attend visa interview this month.but yesterday when i checked all my documents
i found two misprints on my papers.
1) Name and Dob was misprinted on my i-797.
my name is "abc xyz prq ijk" but it was printed as "abc xyz prq"
ijk got cut off.
2) dob (Date of Birth) was misprinted on my i-129
i emaild the same thing to my employer.
can any one tell me will it create any problem?
if yes how to slove the problem ?
how long it will talke to solve the problem?
i was very happy when i got my papers but all the happiness is gone.
can any one plz suggest me what i have to do now ?

H1B @ Mumbai, Issued 221g White form
hi guys,
first of all thanks for each & every one who posted their h1b experiences
i have attended Feb 5th @ mumbai,after completing all formalities like security check,finger scanning,document submission....they have given me the token...
It has taken one hour ,VO called me and asked me abt my Education,Current Company,Abt mumbai residence adress,US employer project whether it is inhouse/client side....then idle for 30 secs....he was looking into his system and typing somthing....no more questions...he has issued me 221g white form asked me 2 come on any business day at 9.30 AM,even though i have those documents.i said him i have those docs,but he is not intrested 2 see any more...

B1/B2 to H1B Stamping in Mumbai Consulate
Hi Guys
I recently had my B1/B2 visa to H1B stamping in mumbai on 27th Jan 2009 at 9:00 AM.
Here's my experience if it helps
Submitted my application online at the VFS website. Took a print of all documents as mentioned in the check list package and submitted it to VFS 5 working days before the interview date
On the day of the interview
Reached the star and stripes lounge at 8:15
They give you a complimentary Coffee and a Sandwich( two slices of bread with green chutney for which they charge 250 bucks) and at around 8:55 the bus arrived for taking us to the consulate
At the consulate went through the security checking, waited in another queue where i was handed the package i submitted earlier.They asked my to add my I797 Notice of action.
Went for the fingerprinting where i handed over the package along with the 1797 and was given a pink token with a number. I was waiting in the seating area until my number was called
Heres are a questions i was asked
Me: Good Morning Hows it going today
VO: no response
VO: please give me the pink token
Me: Gave the token
VO: so you cut your hair (Had recently had a haircut and my hari was short compared to my passport pics)
ME: Yes sir i long hair before
VO: scanned through my DS156 and DS157 and typed in a few things
VO: SO you are working for XYZ company
Me: Yes
VO: for how long
Me: told him the time i was working
VO: so you are working for a client of XYZ
Me: Yes
VO: is this your first B1/B2 to H1B stamping
Me: Yes
VO: ok your visa is apporoved and your passport will be couriered
Me: Thank you have a good one
And walked out ....with a great feeling
the interview was hardly for 1 minute and for this one minute i was preparing for a month or so.
As long as you have all your docs you should be fine

This month, i am going for H1B stamping at Chennai consulate. At the same time, I am taking my wife and 2 kids along with me for dependent H4 visa. my doubt is, whether i have to take one HDFC receipt or 4 receipts(on family members names) ? if anybody knows, please give reply.

Time normally taken after submitting 221g Docs
Hi,
I attended my visa in Dec and was asked to submit some docs with out passport by issuing a 221G.I submitted the docs and again they replied me to submit individual wage reports again after 10 days.I submitted the requested documents again 3 weeks back and waiting for a reply from consulate.could any one have idea,generally how much time it takes for processing once we submit the documents for 221G.Can we contact anyone regrading this issue ( Chennai consulate?).I Guess if at all they decide to issue a visa,they will ask me to send my passport again?
Anny pointers in this regard is highly appreciated.

I went through the Interview Process in Chennai yesterday. These were the qns asked.
VO : Good Morning. How are you ?
ME : Pretty Good. How you doing ?
VO: Can you pass on the folder please?
ME : Sure, I gave the VFS folder which had the petition, applications, passport
VO : Asked for my old passport which was recently expired?
ME: Sure, I gave
VO : Took few mins in the computer, then asked, so How long have you been working for ***
ME : I said, I have not started to work, as i have got the Petition done and came for the stamping today.
VO : He said, ok. Can you explain me the Project in detail?
ME: Explained in few lines
VO: Can you tell me the title of the Project?
ME : Said
VO: Do you have the Project Description with you?
ME: I said, Yes.
VO: Can i see it ?
ME: Definitely. Given the Proj Desc
VO: went through. It took few mins in the computer. Then took a blue slip started ticking a list of docs he wants and directly said to me 'I do not have any information right now to adjudicate this case'
ME: I interrupted and said, I have the docs if he wants to see right now ..
VO: Yep, Pass on ..
ME: Starting giving him one by one .. when he asked.
VO: Asked Petition Copy
ME: Given
VO: Tax Returns
ME: Given
VO: Wage Report
ME: Given
VO: Notorised List
ME: took few mins to search as i was not able to locate that two sheets in the bunch of docs ..
VO: He said why dont i drop the docs if i am gonna take time. I said OK.
VO: He gave all the docs to me back retaining the appln for with him and wrote a number in the blue slip and gave it to me.
ME: I did not drop in Chennai as they have office in Bangalore too to drop. I wanted to check with the employer once before dropping so i have not dropped it yet.
Anybody got through after getting 221g so far ? Please share your experiences. I am not sure whats gonna be the procedure to appeal if the visa is rejected ?
