My interview experience at Mumbai consulate
Let me congratulate everyone who has successfully got H1 stamped.
This is the first time i am writing a post in here and but did not expect that things could turn out in the following manner.
I have attended Visa interview at Mumbai consulate on 13th December.
Following were the questions:
VO: what is your current company?
Me: <Answered>
ME:How much of experience do you have?
VO: 3 years 8 months
VO:. For which company you are going to work?
Me: <Answered>
VO:. Inhouse/Client project?
Me: Inhouse
He started working on his PC and seeing me as idle. he asked me to explain the project
ME: Explained regarding the project

VO: Where is your company located?
ME: <Answered>
VO: What is the strength of the company?
ME: 18
VO: Just 18?
ME: Yes
He started searching for the US company in website and said he is not able to find it.
I helped him with the company's website.
He started viewing the company website and said that the company website is not mentioning that it develops internal projects and also no information on the internal projects.
ME: Internal projects are for company's use and they might not be highlighted on website
VO: No... They need to be mentioned on Website
ME: Okay
VO: Who are the clients for this project?
ME: Its an inhouse project, so no clients
VO: What does the company do?
ME: Software development services & Business consulting.

Then he tried to contact some person to clarify in this regard and found that he was not available at his seat.
VO: Sorry Sir! I need to issue 221(g) to you and started writing on the form

He finally issued the 221 white form asking for the following documents.
a. Client letter between Company and Client
b. COmplete project description including technical description, resource planning, project plan etc.
c. "What are the internal projects for this company and what is the reason that the internal projects development was not mentioned in the project."

ME: Next time, Do i need to attend the interview in person ?
VO: Yes
ME: Thank you

Guys....
Any similar experiences?
How to deal with queries based on internal projects for the next time?
Can anybody help me with the probable questions for next time?
Most importantly, What are the chances of mine getting a H1b visa, as i am attending a personal interview one more time at Mumbai consulate?

Highly appreciate any of the inputs!!!!!

Need ur help for 221 g clarification
Hi All,

Congratulations to all the guys who got the visa successfully.
I need some information related to 221 g blue form.
I had the visa interview and VO issued the 221 g blue form asked to submit the employer documents without PASSPORT .
In that 221 g blue form , the Application processing information option was not checked by the VO.
I have been working in the same company since past 2 years who sponcered H1 for me.
I have all the genuine docs in hand and going to submit them.
The interview went well till last minute and finally he asked me the project description document and it was not there with me at that time and he issued 221 g blue form.

Plz kindly clarify the following queries:
1) Will my petition return to USCIS for further review or reviewed by the Chennai consulate only?(Because Application Processing information is not checked in my 221 g blue form)
2) How much time it will take?
3) Are there any chances to get the VISA?

Successful stamping in Chennai H1B, H4 - H1B
Myself, wife and kid got visa stamped in Chennai on Dec 5, 2008. We are in USA for last 3 years and my wife applied H1B while in USA on H4. We both work for major investment banks.

The consular was very professional. She didn't ask any of the documents, though I was carrying everything.

Me: Hello
VO:Good Morning
VO: Yours is a renewal, I will cancel your old visa and issue the new one.
Me : Thanks
VO:(to my wife) You also on H1B
Ans: Yes
VO: Do your employer pay well?
Ans: Yes

My kid started crying as we just landed that morning to chennai from USA.
VO: The child look upset.
Me: She have jetlag.
VO: All approved.

Note: Please wear business attire. I saw some one who was not dressed properly and got 221g. Its our requirement to get the VISA, so do not take chances.

Re: Visa Validity
You are good to travel and enter USA on or before you visa validity date.
What your employer meant is the duration of your stay in USA will be decided by the date of entry to the USA. Meaning, you can extend your stay in USA beyond the date in your VISA, subject to 6 years total duration in a normal H1B petition.

VO: Whats your total work experience?
Me: 5.1 years(Loudly and fastly)
in that 2.1 of years of software development experience.
VO: For which project are you going for?
ME: Told the project name and described its purpose in one line very loudly and fastly
VO: Gave me my I797 and other documents back and said something
ME: VO put my passport in one tray, i understood and said Thanks..

Thats it. Its all luck and your confidence.

Visa Stamping from Foreign Country
Hi,

I am in strange fix. I got onsite oppurtunity and I landed up in Sweden. I called Sweden consulate and asked if I can go for stamping from here. They said that I can do that. I blocked my visa data in Stockholm embassy. There are many doubts I have.

1. How many days it takes for the passport to come?
2. I will be in office and door will be locked for most part of the day. will it be like a normal post which they will slide into the door. Or a physical presence necessary?
3. Anyone had this kind of experience? What kind of questions are expected?

Thanks.
