got my H1B on 5th June
I had Visa interview on 5th of June @11.30, prior to this i had gone through this site several times and read each and every experiences i have prepared well for the interview, also my employer also gave lots of tips to me.
So on 5th june I reached consulate office by 10 clock, allowed me inside @10.15.
I have placed all the documents separately in the file, so it was easy for me to give all the required documents to be kept in blue folder. So the officer placed the documents and took my finger printing.
Then they sent me to the office were interview conducted, since i had $100 reciept i had to purchase $31 DD and gave the DD in the counter there. Immediately after that i went for interview. VO looked very calm. Here is the interaction b/n me and VO which lasted within 5 min.
VO: Hello
me: good morning
I gave him blue folder. Had a look at it.
VO: Give the degree certificate.
I gave him my degree certificate.
After checking my degree certificate VO asked for work experience.
I gave him all my work experience documents. He took 3 minutes to analyze, and then with smile in his face told me Visa granted, I couldnt hear him properly, asked him again, He confirmed me the result.
Next day evening i recieved my passport with H1B stamp.
I never ever thought interview will be so easy for me. But still I am thankful to this site, which gave me lot of confidence. Believe me I was not BEP candidate, It is surprised me that they never asked me reagarding my employer. It is all luck I guess.

Hi all,
I Have attended h1B interview on 24th March,2008in chennai and got 221g stating that they need Additional Administrative process before taking a final decision. But till now neither me nor my employer didn't heard anything from chennai consulate.
My question is now can I send an email to chennai consulate regarding my status. If so what all details I need to mention in the email to recognize my case.Please help me.

I attended H1-B interview in march at Mumbai, Actually i am working in pune and my passport is issued in South india so at that time of interview officer asked about address proof at that i am not having that document.
Then the officer given me yellow form specifying that please contact US Embassy Chennai.
then i told to the officer i will produce the address proof document with in short time.
then the officer says that it takes around 90days to get address proof and takes same yellow form from me and written on the form apply after 90 days on the same form.(without striking Chennai redirection)
the consulate people taken ds-156,ds-157,HDFC yellow receipt
Right now i am having the address proof documnet.
Which consulate I need to attend now? Whether I required to take new HDFC receipt or with old receipt? what documents required for interview?
can i attend agin in mumbai with new HDFC receipt?

221g - Visa Refusal
After three years of couple of reviews and couple of re-approvals of my visa by USCIS, chennai finally sent a letter stating the following.
Do not know what to do now ?
“Based on the documents you have submitted to us, and the information elicited in your interview with an American Consular Officer, we are not able to issue you an H-1B temporary work visa, because:
Your petitioner does not appear to be either able or willing to provide qualifying employment in the United States in accordance with appropriate laws and regulations.
In accordance with United States law and Department of State guidelines, action on your case has been suspended, and the 1-129 Petition for a Non-Immigrant Worker filed on your behalf will be returned to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) with a memorandum explaining the facts of your case as presented to us at the time of interview. The
U.S. Consulate in Chennai is no longer handling your case, and will be unable to give you any information on the status of your petition.
For your information, your visa was refused today under Section 221 (g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Essentially, this section states that a visa cannot be issued to anyone whose application does not appear to the Consular Officer to meet the requirements of the INA or of the regulations there under.”

Hi
I hold H1 visa and I am flying to USA next month. Can you please clarify my doubts:
1) I have installed SAP (Pirated Version) on my laptop. Will those immigration officers check in USA? ie Will they ask me to switch on the laptop and check for these pirated versions of softwares installed on my laptop?
2) Is it advisable to take Software CD's and Oracle 9i installation CD to USA?

H1 Visa Interview
Hi Guys!
I had my visa interview on 20th May at Chennai Consulate and i got the visa and want to thanks this forum for the valuable support.
Here r my interview experience..
I had my interview schedule at 11.15 and i went to the consulate around 10:40 and have to wait in queue for around 15 minutes and i get inside, my documents have been verified by VFS and they give me blue folder , one thing to notice due to change in dollar's value i have to pay extra 62 Rs as visa fees so, before going to interview check the exact visa fee in indian currency.
After that they send me into visa lobby, there i have to wait for around four hours becaus out of seven counters only four was working and out of thoes two was for different language, then i got my turn .Visa officer was a youg ,charming guy , i went there and wished him , he also replied warmly and asked for blue folder which i had given and then asked few questions those are:
Where r u working?
What is ur role?
What is ur highes degree and when u finished it?
What is the project for u going to US?
Is it inhose project or clent side ?
Which country u visited before?
Then he saie u will get ur visa within a week have a nice flight.
TIPs: Don't be tensed, give ur answer confidently, ur answer should be to the poin and short, don't hesitate to ask if u won't understand the question and last but not least believe in God and pray to him because ultimately he decides....
