successfull stamping at chennai consulate
My interview was at 7:45AM , I went to consulate some what early by 6:00AM in the morning. Security told us to wait until 7AM. At 6:45AM, they called all 7:30 and 7:45 appointments and asked us to stand in the queue and I was in the main queue sometime around 8:15AM
Today All the people has 221(g) blue before me.So, I was thinking that even I may get 221(g) blue.
VO is strict and he is not smiling

The interview was like this
VO:Good Morning, How are you doing
Me: Good Morning, FIne Thank YOu and How are you doing

VO : ok
Passed the blue folder to VO

He entered some information for 2,3 seconds in his system

VO:What is your highest qualification
ME: Masters of Science in Computers

Vo:Pass your OD
ME:Passed

VO: Pass your Marklist
Me: Passed

VO has gone through the Marklist for one minute

Again entered something in the system
Vo:you are working on Inhouse or client
Me:Inhouse, and explained about the project and the client for the project

VO:OK

And tell me golden words "Your visa has been issued and you will receive the passport in few days"
ME:Thank YOu very much sir

My suggestions are
Be confident, don't be panic
Believe in GOD.

Finally got H1 Visa after 221(g)
Hi All,
Firstly let me thank this wonderful site for providing some valuable information. I had been following this site since feb 07, viz., since I got the offer from the US employer. First I booked the interview in August at delhi consulate and later cancelled the appointment as I realised it was not the right thing to do as I dont come under delhi consulate's jurisdiction. Finally i booked the appointment for 4th OCT 07 at chennai consulate. My appointment was scheduled at 9:30 AM wherein i arrived at 8 AM itself. After all the initially screening and receiving the green folder, i waited in the queue for my turn to come up. Finally it arrived and this was the scenario.
ME: Good morning
VO: Good morning, pass on folder please
ME: (.....passed on)
VO: What's your highest qualification ?
ME: Bachelor of Engineering in comp sci
VO: Can i have the degree certificate plz ?
ME: (searched my folder and pasd the degree...) here u go..
ME: Do you want the marks sheets as wel ?
VO: No, not reqd. ( he was typing something in the comp)
VO: So to whom you will be working for ?, Is it a client or ....
ME: Yeah i will be working for....blah blah...continued for few minutes (about client and project specs)
VO: Do you have any docs related to this ?
ME: Yeah sure, (passed on the client letter and other docs related to project)
VO: (started checking them...) and said do you have any more docs related to client ?
ME: ( I was a bit surprised by his question..since i had given all the docs related to client and the project description but did not want to show my dilemma) yeah i have some tax returns related to my employer and...
VO: (In the meantime) Please pass on those, (after looking at them), any more docs ??
ME: ( I realized that I better dump all the docs what i have), i have client's list, unemployment wage report (and passed on those)
VO: (still not convinced)....i need to check these in detail
ME: ( i was sure now that i will get blue form but i wanted to take no chance next time so..), do you need these W2 forms as well?
VO: No...(later changed his mind) yeah pass on those.
ME: (passed on)...
VO: [Issued a blue form 221(g) saying my case reqs AAP and returned my pp and degree certificate]

Then on 12th OCT i got one more blue form asking me to submit PP which i did through VFS office.
Finally received stamping on 18th OCT and got PP back on 20th OCT.

That's all folks,
What a tiresome journey yet fruitful
The salient feature is that you have to be honest and not fake anythin as I saw many people getting hammered by those guys only because of non relevant experience and fake certificates.
Good luck to you all !

I am reading a lot posts indicating that if you talk well you get the visa . I do not think that is the only reason. If you are hired by a consultant and you do not have a client letter be sure to get 221.
If your consultant/company/client is unknown, you have high chance of getting 221.
Dont loose you heart. Have all documents . If you get 221 submbit what they have asked . You will get the visa.
All the best

My Visa Interviwe at Delhi Consulate
This is my second post, inspired by all those gud souls who have shared their experience so as to help other asspriants. I have got my Visa stamped from Delhi Consulate and sharing my experience with all you friends.

Prepration Advise :
-------------------
1)Divide your Docs into at least 4 sets and keep them in seperate holders. This will be very handy and will help u a lot with your nerves really jumpimg i.e
  - Appt Letter+I797+PP+DS-156+DS-157+HDFC Yello receipt alonwith snap pasted on DS-156
  - Petetion Docs (I-129)sent by your employer, employment contract etc.
  - Addnl docs like Tax stmts, W2 stmts, Bank stmts.,client contracts etc.
  - Your Credentials Docs like Education & Experience Certificates in a chronlogical Order.

2)Dress in anything formal, not neccessarily suits but you should look formal. I have seen a post where 1 friend has said he went and came through wearing Jeans & T-Shirts. It is debatable so better be on safe side.

3)You should look clean and relaxed so please do use the washroom once you are inside and wash your face it will help you calm down.

4)Normally you will find the lines are long inside and ppl complaining, don't get distracted and allow that negative energy to get to you. Believe me it will show on your face.

5)Normally with so much tension on you head by the time your turn comes you might end up having a numb feeling. So be sure to Take a breath before you move to counter and try to walk a composed and slow walk. This is to help you to gain focus (not for catwalk :))

6) For GOD sake don't get angry or try to pick a fight with security ppl even if they seem rude to you. Just follow the drills and be focused. Once you are done it will be a dream run.

7) Be at Consulate at least 1 hour earlier so that you can get inside in time.

Interview Tips
--------------
1)Don't act. This is very important, VO's are very smart and that is their job. Be your self but yes you should have a smiling exterior, so if you are one of those serious ppl, please try practising sweet smiles before you go.

2)Be very focused and attentive to what they ask for. They are doing their job and as humans can get infuriated if you ask them to repeat questions many times.

3)Never look here & there, just look at them into their eyes. Even if he/she turns the head to do something, follow the eyes.

My Interaction with VO
----------------------
Vo : Hi (smiling)
Me : Good Morning (smiling)
VO : How are you doing..
Me : I am doing fine . (smiling as if I m speaking to an old friend)
VO : This is your New H1B
Me : ya
VO : When was the last time you visited US
Me : Told her the month & year
(she had turned towards her monitor and I was just follwong her eyes). She turned back and

VO : Are you working with this company.
Me : No (Important I did not burble my current details. Be specifc and let them control the game)
VO : Which company are you working with
Me : Name & Location of my current Indian employer
VO : Whats is the project you will be working with.
Me : Just gave the name of the Project (again no details)
VO: Can you plzz elborate.
ME : Provided the full details (try to use max techiee words)
VO : What would be your salary
ME : YYYY /annum
VO : Show me your petetion Docs.
ME : I tried to fidle through the set, she said hand me over, I will take out wat I want.
VO : Went through the docs, I gave her the snaps of the company which she refused.
VO : How many kids you have
Me : ZZZ
VO : Will they be accompyning you
ME : Not for now, may be later
VO : Hands me back my petetion docs and says I am approving your Visa.
Me. Thanks , Have a nice day.

Thats it.

I hope my experience helps ppl with their confidence as I had benifited from previous posts on this site.

All the best
