I attended visa interview in Chennai on 17 Oct. My interview was scheduled at 11:15.
But I was there by 9:15 am and asked the security regarding time. He said time is not an issue. I can go inside.
I saw lot of guys from companies like TCS, Infosys come in ties with their ID cards hanging around necks etc.. Found it funny though..
First they checked the interview letter and passport and I was let in .. got security cleared and went to the pre processing section.
Here Indian employees check the from 156 and 157 and passport and keep all this into an folder and asked me to proceed to the next building.
btw I had multiple visas to US before ( 1 B1/B2 and 2 H1 ) and also visited euro union countries.
When I proceeded to next bulding, they took finger printing and then i proceeded to window.
Me: Good Morning
VO: Good Morning. How are doing
Me: fine thank you.
I handed over the folder with PP & forms 156 157.
VO scanned through them occassionaly staring at me ( my be to judge something )
he then starting looking something in the system.
VO: You already travelled to US
Me: Yes
after 3-4 min pause
VO: Are you married
Me: Yes. Also have 3 yr old son
VO: is you family going with you?
Me: No
VO: Have a pleasant flight!
Me: Thanks a lot.
Thats it. I was outside by 9:45 am. and i am waiting for my passport to check visa details.

Firstly thanks to all who posted their interviews.. I got my VISA today. My interview were hardly for 1 min. She didn't ask for any document.
She just asked me following questions
what is my job title and job responsibilites in US company?
What is my qualification?
What is specialization in bachelors?
Current company and how many years with current company and total work experience..
My job title is different what I do with current company with US company... so she cleared with that... and then golden words came your VISA is approved...
thanks to god... i visited haji ali and siddi vinayak same time after interview.. and collected my passport in the evening..
so smooth... i was so tensed before the interview.. but trust me they are very co-operative... while interview I was so confident.. don't let them know that you are tensed.... so all the best to rest candidates.. be calm and cool and confident... thanks to each person who posted all their experience....

Today I got my visa approved.
Yet to receive the pp though.
It was very short:

A:BE in CSE
Q:What r u gonna do there in US ?
A:Gave details about my company and project.

HI all,
My interview was yesterday ie.17th nov.my appointment was @ 11 am.i reached der before 9 and i enterned ,inside they told no need to come early u can go out and come by 10.30..anyway i came back @ 10.15 and enternd.After all intial process the Visa Office called me for the interview.Before tht couple of guys got the blue form 221(g) and copile more issued the visa.so i was bit nervos.so in my turn he asked me

Vo:u ve the employer tax returns any proof regading tht?
Me: NO
Vo:wt project u r going to do tht
Me:Itz an inhouse project and i expalined my duties as the documts give by the employer.
Vo:i want to know the exact project u are assigned.
ME:once i reach der then only they will assing.
VO:gimme 1 mints.
HE went inside discuss with oher officer for sme time and came back.
Vo:Need more documnts tuk the blue form and told me to drop it in the vfs drop box.told me to drop only the documnts not the passport any one plz tell me..wt does it mean..y they dont need my passport ,is it tht i dont get the visa or..they will ask for the passport later..plz plz help me in this..please send me the details if u know and itz aprreciate. please mail me to [email protected]

I am a native of Delhi working in blr for past 2 yrs. My passport issued in Delhi and also my B1 issued from delhi.
So i went to the Delhi Consulate on 15t oct and was redirected to Chennai citing that I am residing in bangalore.
I have been asked to visit Chennai consulate on any tue-thurs b/w 9-11 am.
So you never know what the VO is going to say in such cases as mine.
You can still take your chance as many people in my scenario have been granted visa at Delhi itself.
It boils down to luck as to who is your VO and what he has on his mind.
