i attended visa interview in Delhi. VO said she wants some more paper from my employer to verify employment status.

She retained my DS 156 and 157 and returned all the documents.

She said I need not come for another interview...just drop the required documents at the drop bov.

She was very specific about not dropping the passport.

Has anybody in past had such an expeience at Delhi Consulate.....what are the chances of getting visa and how much time the process takes.

Plzz answer.

Thanks

Successfull H1B Stamping
First of all thanks to immihelp and everyone who posted their experience.
I attended interview on 22nd October 2007.
Before asking me questions he was checking something in machine and he took around 5 mints for that so i was confused for a moment that why is he not asking any question? but after completion his work he started to ask questions and he asked me following questions.

VO : did u apply for us visa in past?(This question was in my mother tung)
ME: No

VO : Why r u going to USA?
ME: To work in USA and also for international exposure.

VO : What is ur Highest degree?
ME: Master in Computer Application

VO : What is the name of ur current employer?
ME : Replied

VO : What is ur current income?
ME : Replied(Amount per year)

VO : What package the US company offer to u?
ME : Replied(Amount per year)

VO : How do u know abt this company?
ME : Replied.

thats it.

VO give me i797 back thats means i will get visa definatly but VO just spoke a word i could not hear that completely and i was waiting for the words like ur visa is approved...OR ur visa is granted... but he did not. so after waiting 1 mints i told just thanks and leave that room.

please check the name in all the docs and make sure it should same as like passport.

People at the consulate office are cooperative and help us very good so nothing to worry about the interview process.
If all the documents are complete and the US employer is good(well known or paying income tax regularly) than there is no chance of rejection. Be sure for ur docs and employer.

H4 VISA approved
Hi Everyone,
I thank everyone in this site for posting thier experiences.
Today I had my H4 VISA interview. That was a wonderful experience because i got my VISA approved. I want to share my experience with u so that it will be useful for others when they face the same situation.

My appointment time was at 9:45am but i went at 8:30am.Eventhough,there was a big line. Initial check up came with the the checking of VISA,appointment letter and HDFC receipt. Next after going inside the first building there was a basic security check up. The security keeps on telling no electronics devices are allowed.

Next we go to a counter in the same building wher i had submitted Original I797,I129,Passport, DS156,DS157 and photocopy of my husband's passport. After verifying it, He kept all these things in forms and informed me to go to next building(VISA lounge).

After this there was a big line(We have to cross 2 doors in the second building to reach this) for the finger printing in a counter. There will be TVs which shows the rules about the finger printing. After the finger printing, we are told to seat accordingto our time slots(don't know exactly on what basis).

After seeing everyone you will feel that u r the best because everyone seems to be in
tension.

After this at around 10:00am they called few people who have come for interview in english. So i went and joined in the line infront of a counter. Again they called me n told to join in another count5er(counter 8) where there is an interview for dependents. The counter is just like the counters in the bank. My interview went like this:

Vo: Good morning
Me: Good morning Sir.
Vo: How r u?
Me: Fine thank u.
Vo: When did u get married?
me: xxxx
Vo: Where does ur husband work?
Me: YYYY company
Vo: Can I see ur marraige certificate?
Me: Yes sure (GAve him the maraige certificate)
Vo: How many people attended the marraige?
Me: 500
Vo: Oh!!!
Me: As me n my husband belong to same area, so there were many people who attended the marraige.
Vo: R u working for YYYY company(I am working in an MNC)?
Me: yes
Finally The VO told:
VO: UR VISA has been approved Mam. Have a safe journey...
Me: Thank u sir.

Before me everyone were of malayalam interview. The VO continued his interview with me with the help of a translator. I said I am not a malayali n i don't need a translator.

The only one thing i want to say is stay cool n every thing goes fine...

I am writing this because i saw a very few individual H4 posts in this site. When i was searching the forms i found only few experiences here. So i request all the H4 VISA holders to post their experiences in this so that it might be useful for other people.

Successful Stamping 13th OCT Mumbai
Hi Friends,
Successful stamping 13th Oct at 12:00 at Mumbai. I thank this web site and the user community for sharing their experiences which gave me confidence and an opportunity to prepare in advance. The following is my experience and some useful information.

There are 2 hotels that are very close to US Consulate (hardly 5 minutes drive) and VFS Office (hardly 10 minutes drive).
1. Hotel Royal Castle - Ph. 02223883888 – Rs.1500 for a double bed room.
2. Hotel Kemps Corner – Ph 23634646/4655 – Rs. 1500 for a single room.

For Mumbai there is an option to take VFS service for Rs. 200. They will take us to consulate in a cab just before the interview time so that you need not wait in the hot sun. They offer complementary food and also provide an option to keep your luggage with them. They also allow family members inside but charge Rs. 200 per person. They also provide transport for going back to VFS office after Visa interview.
Take all the print outs and other documents before hand as the printing charges that I had to pay was Rs.10 per page. If you have to access internet then, they ask for id proof before letting you access internet.
Many people expressed wonder that Consulate was working on a Saturday and asked me to cross check, but don’t worry they sometimes work on Saturday if they have more than one off in a week apart from normal weekends.
My Visa Interview was scheduled on 13th Oct at 12:00 at Mumbai. I went to VFS office at 11.00. They called me for the 12.00 batch people at 11.45. The distance from VFS to Consulate is hardly 2 Kms but it took 45 min for the cab to reach there as it was the Navratri Period and rush in MahaLakshmi temple caused traffic jams. Once I got down at Consulate, I stood in the line and waited for my turn to go inside.
  1. There was initial security check and make sure you avoid taking any prohibited stuff like mobiles, chocolates etc with you.
  2. I went inside and stood in the VFS line to collect the DS156, 157 etc which are stapled to the Passport.
  3. Later I got into the line where they were taking finger prints and issuing tokens.
  4. It was 1.15.My token no. was W200; I sat beside the loud speaker and waited for my turn. Be quite and listen attentively, the calls are loud and clear. They call in Hindi by name if you have opted for Hindi language and by token number if you have opted for English Language.
  5. They sometimes call numbers in random and all those guys who came along with me had already left after their interviews. I was called at 2.15 (after token number 327)
  6. The interview was simple and asked me (a). Company Details – replied (b). No. of employees working there - replied (c). Why I was leaving for US. - replied (d). Why I was leaving my current organization (atleast 100 times bigger in revenue and 200 times bigger in employee strength) and joining the co in US. – replied that though it is small it offers me to work on complete SDLC and a challenging work. (e). what is SDLC and what are its phases – replied. (f). Why I was not taking my spouse with me – replied she will join later. (g) What will be the pay in US – replied. He did not ask me to show any documents.
  7. He kept the passport and said – OK SIR YOUR VISA IS APPROVED. This sentence is so small and so quick that I really found it hard to believe as I did not get all the documents required from my US Org. I was so happy that I almost banged out of the cubicle.
  8. In Mumbai it is possible to collect the Passport in evening between 5pm & 6pm on the day of the interview. They issue passport until the Queue is empty or until 6PM whichever is later. I collected the Passport the same day and left for Pune.

Guys keep your cool and do all the home work. Follow up with your US organization and have all the documents ready in time, they normally try to delay it till the last minute. Don’t take chances. Go through the petition document, DS156, 157 and others. Read others experiences. Have faith in God and visit MahaLakshmi Mandir if possible.
