Hello all,
Just wanted to share positive feedback of my visa stamping experience.
Case: F1 - OPT - H1
I work full time for my employer
18 Nov 2019- Biometrics
19 Nov 2019- Interview
Asked basic questions— opt period, role, location, university
Gave small slip that mentions about 221g
22 Nov 2019 - Issued
As soon as i came out of interview , we emailed employer to look out for any verification.
We also emailed the consulate from my work email on 20 Nov 2019 mentioning to expedite the case as I cannot extend my vacation time and my child needs to get back to school. We added employment verification letter just in case.
We got automatic reply mentioning that they wont expedite cases and it has to pass through processing but visa was issued in 2 days.
Not sure if the email helped but wanted to let everyone know about it.
The email id is mentioned on the slip provided to me

11/25/2019 - Dropped off Documents
12/03/2091- Picked up passport. Got green slip 221 g and was asked to go for interview at consulate.
12/03/2019- Went for interview and fingerprints. VO asked basic questions about previous visas, education and salary. No documents asked. VO approved visa and kept the passport.
12/03/2019- Case updated to Administration processing
Since then there has been no update on case status.
Did anyone go through a similar experience and know approximately how many days the process takes to get visa issued?

Chennai Drop Box on December 2nd 2019
4th Stamping and 1st dropbox all of them at Chennai Location
Dec 2nd 2019 : Dropped the documents at 11:00 AM IST
There was a heavy rush of people lot of Drop box requests
Dec 4th 2019 : Case was updated to Application Recieved/Passport is with Consulate
As of today Dec 9th 2019 the status is still Application recieved/Passport is with Consulate
It seems due to the huge volume of drop box there is a delay in Progress. Hoping to hear update around this week.

First Time F1 to H1B, Attended 2 times interview still got 221G
All, I have attended my first H1B Visa interview on October 10th 2019 and got issued 221g white slip, after a three weeks received an email from hyd US consulate to reappear for the 2nd interview on nov 12th which went on for an hr+ (VO took my passport and few supporting documents) later a month I got an email to pick my passport. Unfortunately I don’t see any stamping on the passport but I got an same 221g white slip with the same case number (all my documents are still with the consulate). It’s been overall 60 long days of wait already. Have you seen any similar cases? What do you guys think of my case, do you have any suggestions for me ?

Question on Drop Box
Hello,
I am scheduling my USA vis appointment for H1B and I am eligible for dropbox. I am in the middle of payment. Last time (2 years back) I was eligible for dropbox and there was no case of scheduled appointment date for dropbox. I was mentioned I can walk at any time 9 to 4 all 5 days. But this time it says I am eligible for Visa waiver but I need to schedule an appointment for Dropbox. Something changed ? Could you please enlighten me.

Consular petition query
Hello,
I want to know about H1B consular petition and is there any catch in that.
So currently I’m in L1B and residing in US which is expiring in sep 2022, my employer would be applying for H1B next year and I was wondering if I can opt for consular petition so that I can make international travels. I have couple of questions regarding this:
1. If my H1B is picked/approved and if I travel out, do I really need to stamp immediately? I have L1 valid till sep 2022, I can stamp H1B sometime later? Am I allowed to return to US in L1 with an approved H1 (unstamped)?
2. Is there any catch or disadvantage when compared to change of status petition?

I went to chennai for my H1b Visa 1st Extension and was given 221g blue slip, asking to submit End client letter. Below is my experience.
24-Nov-19: Visa interview.
VO: Can I see your i797?
Where do I work?
Who is your end client?
Since how long I have been in US?
How long I have been working with current client?
how much is your salary?
where do you live?
where do you pay taxes?
what is your highest qualification?
marriage status?
do you have kids?
Do you have end client letter?
ME: No. But I do have letter from my implementation partner.
VO: I need your end client letter. She gave me 221g blue slip requesting my petitioner to email a PDF copy of the below document.
'A letter (on letterhead) from the personnel department at the US end client company (the hob site where you will actually work) stating that there is a vacancy for you.'
returned my i797 and passport and said to wait for further instructions through email from them once they receive the requested documents.
My employer sent email through proper channels requesting for end client letter from my end client.
Current Status:
8-Dec-19: Still waiting to receive letter from end client. Will keep posted further experiences.

Hi All,
First time H1B visa interview in Hyderabad consulate from F1. Work for a US based company.
No slips issued and did not say approved. The first status got updated on the day of the interview on Dec 2nd. On 6th Dec the case is again updated but it still shows in AP.
Am not sure what this means. Anyone having similar experience?

17 May 2019 - Name picked in the lottery
21 Aug 2019 - Approval I979 came on my Visa application.
10 October 2019 - Visa interview in Chennai, Officer took my Client letter and returned I979 and passport said it will be under Administrative processing, didi not give me any slip or form.Just asked my package in India and US & US location.
17 October 2019 - US embassy sent an inquiry in a client office, Stamford USA.
30 October 2019 - Received an email to resubmit my passport for stamping.
1 Nov 2019 - Submitted my passport, I 979 copy in Delhi dropbox.
8 Nov 2019 - My employer received an email to collect my passport from Bangalore collection center.
