H1b dropbox Delhi
Nov 29 - Dropped documents for h1b extension (First extension)
Nov 30, Dec 1 - Weekend
Dec 2- Application received
Dec 3 ,4,5,6 Admin Processing, your passport is still with embassy
Dec 7 - DS 160 site still shows Admin Processing but passport tracker says The passport is being delivered to consular section and prepared for delivery

I work for a top US bank as a FTE.

Does this mean I have received 221g and have to appear for interview or can it be that ds160 site is not updated? Anyone with similar experience?

H1b - 221g white slip with passport back
Hello All,

I appeared for my first visa stamping @hyd consulate on December 05,2019.

VO asked the following questions and gave 221g documents with second check box ticked.

do you have a client? (in-house)
what is your project?
can you explain about your project?
How many people will work for this company?
Is your office located in NJ/?
Do you work at this location?
How many people will work at this location?
How long you have been with this employer?
From how long is your company in this address?
What is your highest degree?
Do you know work rights in USA?
Do you have a LCA with you?
Do you have project document with you?

VO took both documents (LCA and Project doc) and left the counter, After some time she came back and told me that your case requires additional administration process to check on these documents
gave 221g white slip with passport back

Could you please share your comments if anyone one on this similar situation?

H1B stamping issued after 221g
Hello,

I had come to India for H1B stamping, this was my second time stamping (H1B extension).

Nov 15, 2019 - Submitted passport, current i797, previous 1797 photocopies and photograph using dropbox in Bangalore.
Nov 20, 2019 - On CAEC website, my case changed to Administrative processing but on ustraveldocs the passport status showed as "passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery"
Nov 21, 2019 - Received the passport with blue slip in it asking me to attend for an interview. No documents were requested.
Nov 25, 2019 - Went for an interview in Chennai.

Interview:
Me : Good Morning
VO : NO response, asked me to hand over the passport and blue slip
Me : handed them over to her
VO : Do you work as client or direct hire ?
Me : Direct hire
VO : Where did you do your masters?
Me : Answered
VO: Did you graduate?
Me: I said yes
VO : What is your salary?
Me: Answered
VO : who is your petitioner?
Me: Answered
VO: How long do you work for this company?
Me : Answered
VO: Do you know the rights to work as an H1B visa holder?
Me: I said YES
VO: Issued me 221g blue slip and kept my passport. She told that further administrative processing has to be done which might not take very long.
Me: I left

Dec 2, 2019 - on CAEC website, the visa was issued.
Dec 3, 2019 - collected the passport in Bangalore.

It is very common nowadays to receive 221g. So don't panic, in fact I got 221g blue form twice during this process. Patience is the key and if you have genuine documents, your visa will be issued.

Best of luck :)

Approved in Interview but stuck in Administrative Processing since 1 year [B1/HYD]
Sept 11 , 2018 -- Interview

Status : Administrative Processing

Location: HYD

I have attended the B1 visa interview on 11th Sept, 2018. Interviewer told that my visa is approved.
Based on above information I booked the tickets to travel to Orlando to attend conference.
My travel dates were 22nd Sept to 30th Sept to attend Microsoft Ignite conference at Orlando.
I had to cancel the visit as I did not received visa/passport till 21st Sept.

on 28th Sept I received questionnaire email from [email protected] . The email stated : This is to inform you that you have been found ineligible for a nonimmigrant visa under Section 214(b) of the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act . Please complete the questionnaire.

On 9th Oct I received the passport pickup email from [email protected]

I collected the passport on 14th Oct and found that visa stamp was not present on the passport. Also no additional document was handed over.

On checking the status @ https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx with my Application Id, I find that it continues to say that visa is under administrative processing. and Last updated date of the case is 28 - Sep - 2018.

I have already stated above information to [email protected] by sending email every month. Replies come from them saying to wait as it is under administrative processing.

I cannot apply for new application this one is not denied or approved and is stuck since 1 year. Not sure how to get out of this and get a B1 visa so that i can travel for attending conferences and meetings .

Please help me out

H1B extension dropbox - Issued status.
Hello,

I submitted my documents for dropbox on Dec 2nd, status changed to Administrative Processing on Dec 4th and on Dec 5th at noon, I got an email saying my passport is ready for pickup. When I track with my DS-160, status is updated to ISSUED.

However, from what I am seeing, it's taking 1-2 weeks to get visa approved. Only people who have received 221G are getting emails sooner.

Anyone who received 221G, did your DS-160 show ISSUED as the status?

November 18: Fingerprints
November 19th: Interview

Status: Administrative Processing

My status has not changed since the day of the interview. Case was last updated on November 19th. The visa office asked me the company name, salary, designation. The interview was very short and she told me I'd get my passport back in 5-7 days. I was not given a slip. It has been 16 days with no changes. Getting very stressed.

Visa Stamping at Chennai
I have been reading on this forum for a while now and didn’t see any posts from veterans like me (19 years in US, 5th Stamping on H1B and once on F1). Why I don’t have a GC or Citizenship yet is the story for another day.

Landed from US on Dec 2nd.
Biometric on Dec 3rd.
Visa interview on Dec 4th

Background:

Highest degree: MS from the USA
Employment status: FTE Since 2017
GC status: Approved I-140
Potential Issue: DUI on St.Patrick’s day in 200X.

Interview:

VO: White male between 35-42, with well-kept black and pepper beard, clean cut, rolled up sleeves, pink floral tie. In short very GQish, peppy looking dude with a smile.
VO: Good Morning!
H1-B Coolie/HC: Morning Officer!
VO: Can I have your Passport please!
HC: Slid the passport across
VO: What is “XYZ”?
HC: blah blah blah blah
VO: What is your salary
HC: blah with ton of brown pride!
VO: Where do you work?
HC: NYC
VO: Chuckles and says “FUN”
VO: What do you do?
HC: Very specific Blah blah blah blah
VO: I looked at your age, you don’t look a day older than 22
HC: I will take that as a compliment officer with a grin.
VO: Do you have recipe for that?
HC: I wish. I would be a rich man by now.
VO: I bet!
VO: Looks like you had an incident before Year xxxx. What happened?
HC: I had a DUI on St.Patricks day in 200X.
VO: That’s in ancient history but still need to be documented.
HC: hmmmmmm with a quizzical look (owned it)
VO: Did you serve any Jail time?
HC: NO officer (Hell no senor in my mind)
VO: No incidents since then?
HC: One is too many officer
VO: I bet!
VO: Starts to accumulate keystrokes and looks at his screen for 5 mins and finally, he speaks
VO: Will anyone be joining you?
HC: Not this time officer.
VO: Your VISA is approved, have safe journey back (with a Peace sign) and hands over the green flyer about passport tracking.

Only document VO was asked for is my passport and nothing else.
