Successful H1B Stamping in Chennai
Hi All,
I had my appointment recently at 8.45 am in Chennai. I reached the consulate at 8:05 and was sent inside immediately. So as it states in the appointment letter its not true that you will be allowed only 15 mins before the appointment time. Be there atleast before 45 mins.
In the first building 797, 121, LCA, 156, 157, passport and the yellow HDFC receipt were collected and I was asked to proceed to the next building. After waiting outside the building until the call for 8:45 appointment holders, I went inside and was handed a file with the documents collected in the first building. I was asked to join a queue for finger scanning after which I was asked to join the queue for a particular counter.
Me: Good Morning
VO: No response
VO: Whats your designation going to be?
Me: ZZZ
VO: Can you give me your degree?
Me: I gave a bunch of all my acads
VO: I just want your degree.
Me: I gave him just the degree.
VO: Please wait. (He went inside and came back in 2 mins).
VO: Do you have photos of ur employer?
Me: Gave him the same.
VO: Where is your project?
Me: Initially its an inhouse project with my employer.
VO: Later on you will be working at client?
Me: I will continue to render my services from the office of my employer located at ZZZ.
VO: (I was not able to comprehend the initial part)...your passport will be returned in three days.
Me: ThankYou.
PS: My F1 was rejected twice earlier and I was not carrying any project related documents.
Finally I would like to thank all the previous posters for sharing their experience and the website people for making this information sharing possible.

Hello!
I got the visa[H1B] on Sept 7th and I am planning to fly on Dec 8th. My employer is in PA and I wish to land at my friends place who stays in NY. Will this be a problem for the first time landers? Are we supposed to go to our employers place only for the first time? Please help me out.

Friends, my visa interview was on 13july in mumbai, but unfortunetly i got 221(g), but still i haven't get any mail or call from Mumbai counsler, on my 221(g) form tick on first checkbox and counlser replied me they will contact your, so friends, body have that kind of case, then plz clearify me.

First I want to thank all the users who have been posting their experiences, going thro these gives one a better idea of the scenario. I had my visa interview today, after the usual procedures of checking, finger printing , i had my turn for the interview

me: passed the folder arranged by vfs
VO: since when your husband is working with the
present company
me:told the date and year
vo: when did u get married
me: told the date and year
vo: can i see your husbands pay stubs?
me :sure (showed paystubs of 3 months)
vo: show me your marriage photos
me:showed him an album of approx 30 photos
vo:your visa is approved , pl pay the fee at
counter1

vo:have a safe and good trip to the us.
thats it.... the interview had lasted only for a minute or so.
leave it on god and attend the interview with confidence

Hi,
I have a valid petition and i have to go for stamping next month. In the mean time i have got an offer from some other company in India. What will happen if i do the stamping from my existing company and then go and join the other company in India. Will the same H1 be valid and can i enter US with the new employer?

i attend the interview on sep 13 th...they said ur application is under administrative processing...but i am not having any 221(g) form with me...is this possible..do anybody have the same problem...if anybody had the answer for this one..plz mail me...

GOT MY H1 VISA AFTER AAP
Hi all,
I got my visa stamped today after getting AAP on aug 30th .
Regarding AAP they have contacted my client reg my employment.After few days they sent me a 221(g) form mentioning send ppt & dd.Today i got my passprt back with visa stamped..

Successful H1B Stamping in Chennai

I had my appointment on 20th Sep 2006 at 2.00 pm in Chennai. I reached the consulate at 1.00 pm and joined the queue. Unusually very few people were present at the venue.
Before entering the premises, the Security personnel verified the Passport and the appointment letter. After that there were 2 security checks where they checked me and the things I carried. Electronic gadgets and Sealed Envelopes are not allowed inside. Then we are allowed.
Then I was allowed inside the building where there were 4-5 counters for verifying our documents. They basically arrange the documents for us. I was representing a BEP Company. The BEP applicants will be given a BEP file which contains all the documents arranged in order by the sponsoring company. I was asked to submit the entire file. For Non - BEP applicants, the procedure is little different. The Verifying officer(all Indians) verified my file and kept it with her. She asked me to go to the next building and said someone will handover the file to me.
I moved on to the other building where the actual interview takes place. There was a queue to enter the building. People are allowed inside based on the appointment timings. After waiting for a while, I was allowed inside the building. I was asked to join a queue where the finger scanning takes place. I was asked to join a queue which was exclusively for the BEP applicants. Two of the applicants who had before me were sent back asking for some docs. There were 2 other applicants who came for their H4 and were granted Visa immediately without any hassles.
Then came my turn.
Me: Good Afternoon mam
VO: Good Afternoon. How are you?
Me: Good. How are you?
VO: Good. Can I have your File please?
Me: Yeah Sure.(Handed it over to her)
VO: How long you are working in ZZZ?
Me: So Many years.
VO: What kind of Project you are working on?
Me: .....
VO: How long you are working on this project?
Me: ...
VO: Your Visa is approved.
Me: ThankYou.
The interview lasted for just a minute. I was very happy to hear the words. My Company is well-known in the US. That could be the reason for me getting Visa very easily. It looked like the VO decided to grant me visa even before my turn came. So luck factor is also very important.
Guys, For Preparation going thru the experiences will do. Just pray God and attend the interview with confidence.
