Question - No one for the local police station reached out to my family yet. We called the police station and they said they havent received a PV request yet. Is that normal? What is the PV timeline is case of Application Granted on post police verification basis?

Passport Renewal at Houston Consulate
Hi all,
I am trying to renew my passport at the Houston consulate using Normal scheme. My timeline is as follows. The statuses keep changing and going back and forth and i am getting worried. The was no address change in the application. I was just adding the US address and all supporting documents were ok.
8/4/2022 Fedex's all documents to VFS
8/5/2022 VFS received documents and acknowledged
8/8/2022 Consulate received Application and Fees
8/12/2022 Application under review
8/17/2022 Print has been initiated
8/18/2022 Application under review.
8/22/2022 Print has been completed
8/22/2022 Passport has been printed and will be delivered shortly
8/24/2022 Your passport has been printed and being forwarded to the Embassy/consulate. The Embassy/Consulate will contact you once they receive the passport for dispatch
8/25/2022 Passport has been printed and will be delivered shortly

Passport renewal San Francisco
I submitted my application for passport renewal last week to VFS SF office thought Fedex, Fedex tracking shows it was delivered next day morning but I have not received any confirmation email from VFS, it has been 7 days now. Any one knows how long it takes to get first confirmation email from VFS?

July 23 - Email : Application is under process and will be submitted to the mission
July 26 - Email : Application processed and in transit to the embassy for decision making
~Aug 1 - Status on VFS and Govt of India website showed Passport application is under review
Aug 10 - Status on Govt of India website showed Print has been initiated for the passport
Aug 17 - Status on Govt of India website showed Passport is printed
Aug 18 - Got emails from vfs and fedex on estimated delivery time
Aug 19 - Passport delivered
Surprisingly - police verification did not happen. Probably because address printed in passport (Indian residence) was unchanged and I had provided proof (Indian drivers license)
Found the Govt of India site (https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in); to be more updated compared to VFS (https://services.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/ind/apply-passport);

July 22 - Sent through FedEx (pre-printed label)
July 25 - Received an email to send an incomplete document.
July 27 - Sent them the requested document. (Via FedEx this time I paid for overnight delivery)
July 28 - Confirmed the document was delivered in VFS
July 29 - Received notification that "We have received your application and your application is now under process at Houston and will be submitted to the Mission for decision making."
I have not made any changes to my address. It is the same address that I had in my previous passport (India address).
Do we still get Police Verification? How long does it take to get my passport back?

06-July-2022 – Prepared the application and sent thru Courier Service purchased thru VFS
07-July-2022 (Morning)– Application was received at VFS.
07-July-2022 (Evening)- Application processed and Submitted to Embassy for Decision making.
08-July-2022 (Early Morning) - Initiation of Police Verification Request Automated email received.
08-July-2022 (Late evening) – Government website – Status updated to Passport has been handed over by the Embassy/Consulate to the OSP executive for further dispatch to the applicant.
11-July-2022 (India Morning time) – My mother received phone call from police regarding passport verification. Police visited my home, took the identification details and left with notes.
11-July-2022 (USA Morning time) – Received email and text messages from VFS that Application processed and documents will be dispatched thru courier.
11-July-2022 (USA Afternoon) – Received tracking information thru automated email.
12-July-2022 – Passport has been delivered at my home.
My notes:
1. Second renewal at New York Consulate.
2. Documents I followed exactly as prescribed in the checklist including notarization.
3. I informed my home in India to be prepared with documents and someone be home for police verification in advance.

I submitted my wife's passport for renewal thru tatkal process, yesterday (7/7 evening) status changed to Passport has been printed in GOV Website and received an email yesterday night on Initiation of Police Verification request as well. does any one has experiences to tatkal how long does it take to be dispatched.

Passport Re-issue - Stuck at Print initiated for 2 weeks at SFO
Hello, Anybody seeing issue with passport re-issue at SFO? My status is stuck at "Print initiated" for 2 weeks now. Police verification was completed 2 weeks before as well. Sent emails to embassy but no response. Thanks in advance!

Hello All,
As the title says, for folks that applied through Tatkaal service, did you have to sign for your new/renew passport when FedEx delivered it? My family and I are unfortunately going away on vacation while the passport is being delivered and I'm wondering what alternatives I have.
If no signature is required, I can have my neighbor collect it on my behalf.
