I sent all the required documents as mentioned in the checklist.
I did send the change of appearance as 'No', even though my passport renewal is after 10 years.
I did not have any extreme changes to my appearance but there is considerable change since it is 10 years time.
PS: Please follow the instructions as mentioned in the checklist and include all the documents including self sworn affidavit (notarized).
Include another document at the end 'Order of documents' which mentions the order of the documents included in the package.
Do not staple any documents.
Use a clipper to hold all the documents in the application.
Please notarize the required documents and self attest others.
No police verification so far, assuming it is because I included my Adhaar card as Indian address proof.

How to send query on PARMIT- Indian consulate
My passport is stuck in embassy from 09/03 and there is no possible way to connect to the embassy . Every time I try to enter the PARMIT request it says
"This mobile number and email address has been already registered with us. Please check consular query status"
Is there any possible way to contact the embassy.

Sharing my passport renewal experience, this forum is very helpful.
Excellent service provided by VFS and DC Embassy. It took just 3 weeks in normal mode.
9/10/21: VFS received
9/14/21: VFS processed and sent to embassy at DC

I availed VFS provided FedEx courier service.

No police verification was requested. Provided Aadhar number and aadhar address matches indian address given. So maybe that helped.

Passport Renewal: Parents name on Passport
Hi
While renewing my passport, I see that in my current passport parents names are written in <LastName><FirstName> format. However, when I am filling the Government renewal application form it is coming as <FirstName><LastName>.
Has anyone experienced similar issue? How did you solve this?

Lost Indian Passport - SFO, Normal Processing (No change of address or name)
It could have been delivered in less than 3 weeks if passport print issue did not happen. They do a good job.
• 08/07 - Application sent through FedEx.
• 08/09 - Delivered to VFS by FedEx.

• 09/15 - Received passport through FedEx.
