Processing on hold- embassy returned passport to coc
Hello everyone- need your input on the renewal issue. My passport is expiring in May 2020. I sent the paperwork at the end of Jan. My last passport was renewed at Washington DC in 2010.

The embassy returned the passport to cox in February 13 saying that they needed the address in India. I am not sure where I was supposed to put the Indian address. I called up cox and gave them the address.

What does this mean? Is my passport picked for police verification in India? I have travel plans next month and police verification can take upto 6 weeks. Also, I don’t understand after being reissued the passport the last time in Washington DC, why will they refer for police verification. I’m concerned about the time it will take. Any inputs will be appreciated. Thank you.

Passport renewal with change of address - Houston Consulate
My experience with passport renewal along with updating address - Houston Consulate

CKGS has a very smooth and straightforward process. Just follow all instructions (very easy to find and understand) and be sure to include all documents including notarized ones as directed. That's pretty much it. Once sent to CKGS it is a very easy process and your application can be tracked every step of the way.

Jan 21, 2020: Application ‘Received’ by CKGS and 'Not Verified'.
Jan 21, 2020: Application Verification is ‘Complete’. Processing of your application will continue.
Jan 21, 2020: Application is ‘Under Process’ at CKGS.
Jan 22, 2020: Application is 'In Transit' to the Consulate.
Jan 22, 2020: Application is 'Under Process' at Consulate for decision making.

No change up until Feb 12, 2020
01:39 pm: Application 'Reviewed' by Consulate and ‘In Transit’ to CKGS Application Centre.
02:57 pm: Passport ‘Received’ at the CKGS application centre and is at the ‘Sorting Facility’ where it is being processed for delivery.
04:20 pm: Passport picked up by FedEx.

Feb 13, 2020: Package delivered to me

There are also email and SMS updates throughout the process if you have opted for it.

Don't have India address proof- can I use USA address instead?
My current passport has India address with wrong pincode# and my NRI form comes with no Taluka (tehsil circle) name and different pincode # (1 digit different) for my same address selection in the drop down.

I have Indian license without pincode# and also do not have Aadhar card. My address really hasn't changed. My situation is all over the place.

What are my options here?
1. Can I just go ahead and apply as my India address hasn't changed (it really hasn't changed, my India home is still the same)?
2. Or is there a option NOT provide India address proof and ask them to go with USA address proof (i have this) and print the USA address in passport? Do they ask for India address proof if you go with USA address??

Please advice! Very urgent !!

Incomplete documents - shipping
Got an incomplete documents notice via email
I don't see the CKGS website offering shipping service to send pending documents.
Plan to send it by directly buying the shipping label from FedEx or UPS.

Does any one gone through this already? If so want to know if FedEx works? Somewhere read it has to be only UPS.

Appreciate urgent help!

Passport - Incomplete Document
I received the following email
your application received by CKGS Application Center is ‘Not Complete’ and the processing is ‘On Hold’ due to Documentation

The printed format of the Online Passport application is incorrect.

I have been asked to re-print because the document I sent had 5 pages ( probably browser issue while printing). Now I have used internet explorer to print and it comes out as 4 pages.
CKGS has asked to just sign and send the document, however they have not mentioned if I need to paste a photo

I have raised a query with them but wanted to know if someone has faced this issue.
Help appreciated

Passport renewal - DC
I just renewed my passport.
Jan 13th: (reached CKGS), being verified
Jan 17th (friday): Sent to Embassy
Jan 20th: returned back to CKGS
Jan 21st: received it

There was a few days gap while it was being verified but then progressed quickly.

My old passport did not have my spouse's name. In CKGS website, I did not select to add spouse name. But Govt of India website mandated to add name when I selected "married" as marital status. Therefore, I included my spouse's passport and marriage certificate (though doc list didnt mention). I also explained in a cover letter why I included it.

Also, my india address was too long to fit in Govt of India website. So, mentioned that in cover letter along with address as entered as well as prior address in old passport.
