Passport stuck at Indian embassy in SFO
I submitted my passport for renewal on Oct 9th to CKGS. It was shipped via UPS . All docs in order.
Timeline :
Oct 9th - Passport and docs reached CKGS
Oct 11th - Verification passed and sent to embassy
Oct 30th - Got police verification automated email
Nov 2nd - Dad went to police station in India with required docs and got the verfication done
Today Nov 9th -- Status still stuck in "With Indian Embassy"
Status on Indian Govt Website https://portal6.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html%27 is "Passport has been initiated for print " i dont know since when,
How long does it take ? It's been about a month total now and i am without a passport . Getting super anxious.
Anyone else had similar experience / still stuck ?
PS : I just saw CKGS is not the contractor for passport renewals anymore, starting Oct 14th. What will happen to my application ? Geezus this is so stressful. Indian govt cant get anything right and stress free

Indian Passport Reissue through VFS Global
FOr the last 2-3 days, I noticed Many people facing issues while filling application on VFS portal.
I too got the issue while adding Customer.
However, today I was able to add customer and complete my form. I also got my courier labels. I am yet to post my courier but thought of updating here for those who are still waiting for the website to be working correctly.

Unable to submit VFS application for Indian passport renewal with error Invalid session
What i did:
1. I created an application in https://portal4.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html
2. Logged in to VFS, and created an application here as well based on the ARN (Govt Verification Number) from #1
3. Selected VFS courier services (total came to be 127$)
4. Entered address for my home & validated
5. Press submit & get error message
Its redirecting me to VFS home with the error "Invalid session, kindly initiate your application schedule/reschedule again"
I'm able to retrieve the application every time. Errors at the same page. Once in a while it fails during validation by timing out.
Is anyone else facing this ?

"CKGS is very pleased to announce that we are resuming the OCI, Renunciation and Indian passport services to the Diaspora at large in the USA.
CKGS is committed to render high-quality services at all levels. The applicant will be able to complete an application online on the CKGS website with effect from November 9th, 2020
CKGS team is looking forward to walk you through to the end to end processing of the OCI, Renunciation and Indian Passport.

I am in midway completing my application with vfs .
I have noticed other folks are experiencing difficulty in completing the application on VFS portal . Does it have anything to do with this ?
I do not see any official confirmation on Indian Embassy website .

Couldn't create application
unable to create application after logging into https://row1.vfsglobal.com/ portal.
Trying from yesterday from all different browsers and platforms(mac, windows, linux) nothing helped.
Not sure how to connect to the vfsglobal team, even the feedback page is not working

Sep 28, 2020 - Monday - Application ‘Received’ by CKGS and 'Not Verified'.
Sep 29, 2020 - Tuesday - Application Verification is ‘Complete’. Processing of your application will continue.
Sep 30, 2020 - Wednesday - Application is ‘Under Process’ at CKGS.
Sep 30, 2020 - Wednesday - Application is 'In Transit' to the Consulate.
Oct 01, 2020 - Thursday - Application is 'Under Process' at Consulate for decision making.
Oct 27, 2020 - Tuesday - Initiation of Police Verification Request
Nov 04, 2020 - Wednesday - Emailed SF Consulate. They said I will get passport in 7-10 days.
Nov 05, 2020 - Thursday - Passport is Printed and will be Delivered shortly.

Passport Renewal at Houston - sending email helps! ([email protected])
Wanted to share this for the benefit of everyone. My passport application was sent by ckgs on 20th Oct to the Consulate and after that, there was no update. The status was shown as "Under Process at the Consulate"
With ckgs contract ending, I was left in a state of limbo like many of you who are reading these posts out of desperation. I was doing the same for the past several days and was stressed out. Finally, I emailed them with all details to "[email protected]" I immediately got a call from CGI, Houston asking for some clarification, and then today evening I saw the status is updated to "Print has been initiated for Passport". That's progress and I am hoping to receive the passport in a few days - not sure if it will be through ckgs or directly from the consulate. But they will figure it out.

VFS Global USA website for indian passport renewal not working.
I started applying on VFS and I followed the steps and completed the application on Passport seva but after I went to create a profile on VFS for the same it got stuck on the Add Customer page. I have clicked Add customer, filled my details and clicked submit. There is a prompt which says "Are you sure you want to submit?" I clicked yes but it took me to my details again with nothing happening. I thought it was a temporary bug but I have been trying since yesterday to no avail.
VFS is also not replying to enquiries and complaints. I would be grateful if anyone(people who have started application on VFS) can help figure out the issue.
