Things to note:
1. I received police verification email. And I panicked and contacted the local police station in India and fortunately
caught the officer right on time when he was about to head to my parents house. They took copies of my
passport, aadhar and two copies of my photo. This was on a Saturday It almost took a week for any new progress!!
I was very worried.
2. There was very little communication and neither the consulate honored the 24h turnaround on emails or queries.
3. I had requested for a hold with Fedex at one of their stores so it would be safe. They just completely ignored it.

Indian passport shipment ups
Hello , checking to see if anyone else has a similar experience..My passport has been shipped Friday with ups label.. however , right until now it has not moved past it and it still says ready for ups shipment and no further updates .. I’m concerned if ckgs messed up something or any other issue ..? Any one in the same boat?

I am on H1B visa currently in California, USA.
I renewed my passport application through CKGS, wherein I had received status update email that police verification initiated but by the time my parents get a call from police, "I already received my renewed passport here". Later, my parents got a call and they had hard time in explaining police officer about the process and why he cant be here at the moment. So question is currently on NRI application website it says below message against my status - "You cannot take any action on this ARN as the same is under processing at the respective Indian Embassy/Consulate. In case of any queries, please refer the website of the corresponding Embassy/Consulate (or the Outsourced Service Provider, if passport services are outsourced)."
Should I be concerned with anything at the moment or I shouldn't ignore this message assuming it is just late in updating status on NRI government website.
Appreciate your help.

CKGS GAVE WRONG LABEL UPS instead of FedEx
Hi guys, need ur help desperately.
During the filling of applications on CKGS, the only shipping option available was FedEx (so I selected that).
And since we have so many porch pirate cases in my area area, I selected Hold at location at FedEx when (CKGS WILL SEND BACK TO US)
Now the problem is, when I downloaded my label it says UPS NEXT DAY SAVER 🙄
I’m okay to send through UPS but my main concern is on which address they will send me back On selected FedEx hold at location/ on (new) UPS location/ on my home address.
Guys pls advise if anyone had a same situation.
Any help highly appreciated!

Sent a request for passport renewal from San Francisco USA and after 4 weeks, passport application sent for Police verification to 'India' address
I placed a request to renew my Indian passport from San Francisco USA on 6th of July.
The passport was verified by CKGS and then was sent to consulate on 14th of July. After 3 weeks, I got an update that Police Verification Request has been sent to the Police department to my 'India' address in Maharashtra.
I provided my USA as well as India address in passport and currently my entire family is in USA and the India house is locked.
Question- Why the police verification request was sent to my India address? How the verification would be done if my India house is locked? Can I ask for moving police verification to my USA addresss?
Please help! My passport is expiring in 45 days.

Passport Renewal
Hi,
I submitted online application for passport renewal to CKGS - San Francisco, I actually entered wrong DOB on CKGS application (DOB is correct on Online NRI Form).
Now I cannot edit the application, nor I can create new as the current application shows under process.
Because of COVID ckgs contact centers are closed and I have not got any reply(1 week) from the emails they mentioned on their site.
Does anyone know any other mode of contact with CKGS or any other way of resolution ?
Any help is appreciated.
