L1B Blanket Approved.
Hi All,

My L1B Blanket petition was approved and sharing my experience over there. Immihelp is really useful.

There are two Appointment and details are:

OFC Appointment: In this appointment, finger prints and your photo will be taken. Leave 15 mins early for the appointment. Documents required are DS-160 Confirmation page, Appointment Letter and Passport only. Employees over there will put a sticker on the backside of the passport and will stamp the DS-160 Confirmation page. Make sure the details in the Sticker are correct. Carry the same stamped DS-160 confirmation page for next day interview.

Consular Appointment: There will two separate queues outside the embassy. You need to first stand on the queue that starts near Oxford University Press Gate. From then on, you will be well directed from queue to queue. Keep three set consisting of four page of I-129S and 1st page of I-797 ready.Keep DS-160 in one of the sets.Inside the embassy, your DD will be collected first. You will be given a receipt for your DD. Then Passport will be verified. After this finger prints will be taken. Now you will be in the last queue for your interview. You will be directed towards the counter where you will be interviewed. VO will greet you and seemed friendly too.

Questions asked:
1. Do you work for YYYY
2. Company you are working for in US, is it a Client
3. Job title
4. Salary in US
5. Specialization
6. Product that you develop, is it for any client or company.

After this VO was typing something for ~30secs and then the Golden word, Your Visa is approved.

Key thing: Be CONFIDENT when you answer technical questions like Specialization, Job duties in US and India. VO was only looking at me when I was answering my specialization answer.

All The BEST Guys and a Happy New Year.

Happy New Year to All

Thanks a lot for the immi help forum users. I got a lot information from this forum, this helped me prepare for the interview.
Its now my turn to share my experience with all of you.

I went along with wife and 1 year old baby. My finger print scanning was on 28th December at 11:15 am in chennai, I went there by 10:30am but was allowed inside only at 11:00 am. I carried all the documents of mine, wife and kid but none is required other than the 3 documents mentioned below.

1. Passport
2. Form DS160
3. Interview letter

(Its mentioned in the OFC center that only these 3 documents are required)

Within 15 minutes I was out of the OFC. On 29th Decemeber at 12:00am was my visa interview. I reached the consulate at 11:00am and I was allowed inside immediately. First there was security check next they sent us to another building there finger prints were verified and then they sent us to another counter where the passport was verified and after that we were sent to the Visa interview room. Here there is different queue based upon the visa you are applying for.L1 individual had less queue but since I was with baby they sent me directly to interview. Below are the questions asked

VO: How old is your baby
me: She is one year and 4 months old. She was awake till now but slept just now.

VO: You are lucky, she just slept.
Me: Smiled

VO: I liked her curls (Taking about her hair)
Me: Smiled

VO: What is your company doing ?
Me: Told her

VO: What is your US salary ?
Me: Told here. (She didnt hear me properly )
VO: Did you say XXK ?
Me: Yes

VO: Have you been to US before
Me: No

to my wife
VO: Are you born in india
my Wife: Yes

VO: Is this your only kid
me and my wife: Yes

Then she told the golden words your Visa is approved. We thanked her and left (part from the passport and DS160 she didn't ask us any document and no document was returned to us). It didnt take us much time within 25-30 minutes we were out of the building. As many have said. Its the confidence you show, when you answer the questions that matters the most.

During the entire process apart from the above 3 documents none of the documents were asked or verified. Buts its better to carry all the documents for the Visa interview.

L1 Blanket Approved at chennai DEC 18th
Hi All, I would like share my L1B interview experience. There are 2 step process, biometric and visa interview. they have scheduled both in same day. first i went to biometric at 8 am as scheduled, while checking the DS-160 some details (like Place of passport issue, Place birth) are mismatch. So, they not allowed me inside and asked me correct the same. I came outside and took a auto then reached browsing center to correct it (they charged 1000 rs). finally i was allowed inside and completed the biometric process. So, please verify your DS-160 confirmation page and details in passport are same. Because, 3 out of 10 people came for correction. For Visa interview, nothing was asked other than the questions posted in this forum,

Good Luck.

L1B Blanket approved in chennai
Hello All,

This forum helped me a lot to get my L1 approved, so now I am morally responsible to give it back to this forum.

Visa Interview was on 29th December 2015 , Chennai .

Questions Asked :

Q 1: Which company you are working for ?
A 1: Told my company name.

Q 2. How many year you are working in your current organisation ?
A 2: Told

Q 3: How much is my onsite salary ?
A 3: Told

Q 4: What is your project ?
A 4: Told about my project and what I am going to do in that in 3 sentence.

Q 5. What is your specialized skill set ?
A 5: Told the specialized tools name and told I am going to customize that tool based on the clients needs and requirements. Also told it's proprietary to my company.

Q 6: Who is your client ?
A 6: Told the client name , in addition added that since L1B is an Intra company transfer I might work for some other client later.

Q 7: Where are you going to stay ?
A 7 : Told the city name.

Q 8: Are you going to work from client location or my company's branch location in US ?
A 8: Told that I will be working from client location.

Q 9: Is that proprietary tool can be used for only that client (the client name which I have mentioned earlier)?
A 9: I told it can be customized for any , even now couple of clients are using it .

Q 10: Who are the clients using it?
A 10 : Told the clients name.

In spite of all this I strongly believe your luck on that day plays a major role to get your visa approved :) True ..believe me.. for couple of my colleagues who are working in the same project and the same specialized skills the visa got rejected for no reason.

Th only tip is present yourself confidently and don't volunteer the information, answer only for what you are asked.

All the very best and best of luck..

L1B Individual Visa Approved in Chennai
Hi,

Thanks to this forum as this helped a lot, and now it’s time to give it back with my own experience.

OFC:
It was on 29th Dec 2.30 pm slot in Chennai. As instructed in this forum, I just wanted to reach before 15 minutes of my proposed time slot. As there was less traffic reached the OFC office by 2.05 pm and they allowed me inside. By 2.35 pm I am out of VAC office with a sticker on the back of my passport and a Visa Application Center seal on my DS-160. That’s it... Day one is over... (Please keep this DS-160 copy safe for the interview)

You need to take only your Passport, Appointment confirmation Letter and DS-160 confirmation page. These three documents will be sufficient for the OFC.

I took all the other documents as well, as I am afraid like all of you people. What if they ask some other document!! You can take whatever document you want, but only above mentioned documents are needed and keep those outside and let all other documents sleep inside your document pouch for a while :)

Visa Interview at Consulate:

Mine was 10.30 am slot and I reached by 9.30 am. I am allowed in the queue and after few security checks we are asked to move to the next adjacent building where Visa interview takes place. (Don’t worry about the directions; there will be people to guide you always in every corner of the building... so you just need to go in the direction they show you)

Once you enter the Visa Lobby, first check will be on your passport and finger prints and you will be asked to move to the next counter where the passport is scanned once more and you get some color coded in the sticker pasted in the backside of the passport. And then I am asked to join the queue where actually the queue goes to Visa officers. Once your turn comes, there will be a guy standing and informing you to go to particular counter based upon your Visa type and category. I believe there will be separate counters for every visa type and category and I have seen student visas are routed to specific two counters.

There was some general questions asked about my company, experience, what I will do in US, salary and in less than 3 minutes, I heard the words that my visa is approved and the visa officer took the passport and handed over the I-797B back to me. No one asked about I129 to me.

By 11.30 am, I came out of Visa consulate. (Yes, it took 2 hours in total and that too you need to stand for whole time… People with kids are provided with chairs to sit inside Visa lobby and given priority in security checks and in other queues… So people going with their kids need not to worry about long waiting time standing in various queues)

VO: How long you work for this company? (Dint hear properly and asked to repeat the question)
ME: 5 years
VO: What is your role?
ME: Associate Manager
VO: Who do you report to?
ME: Mr. X, who is the delivery manager.
VO: How many direct reportees?
ME: 4 at offshore and 3 at onshore
VO: How many indirect employees?
ME: 17 at offshore and 20 at onshore
VO: What are your roles and responsibilities?
ME: Explained in 5 short sentences (roles include managing a division, supervising tech archs and developers, hiring, budget allocation etc.)
(By this time VO started stamping the document)
VO: Where will you be working from? client or your company location?
ME: Client location
VO: Where will your manager be located?
ME: Same location
(He passed a slip through the slot for me)
VO: What is the duration of your stay?
ME: 1 year
VO: What would be your salary?
ME: 90k $
VO: Mam (to my wife) now to you, What is your highest qualification?
Wife: Bachelor of Engg
VO: Thanks, You can collect your passports later. Your visa approved.

I have close to 11 years experience with 3 years managerial experience. I would suggest preparing crisp answers for the known questions, so that we don't stumble.
All the best!
